MrBeefy, what are you talking about? TT told us he would never ask for money until people had a chance to play the system and games. Not sure why you need to bring this up before the system and games are available for people to play.

And if you take that literally, there is no mention that they are responding back to TT or IE.

Don't forget TT response to every game title suggested was that it would be made for the Amico. Each and every game that was suggested. TT stating they had the Tempest license was in response to someone asking would Tempest be on the Amico. Clearly it was promise every game imaginable to get people just to buy the console. If the game did not appear, no loss to IE as they got the console sale anyways.

What are the odds they actuslly had theTempest license. Can it be less than 0%?

Simple theory is that all the behavior you discuss and office window dressing was just to keep the money coming in so they could make as much money as possible regardless of whether a console was released.

Intellivision's Facebook page is a great history of the Amico project. Back in 2018 they posted a picture showing 24 people who are a "small fraction of the team that is working on the outer industrial design of the new Intellivision!" What is "outer industrial design?"

Remember the Q&A Amico Fun thread started in February 2019. The thread that occurred on Atari Age but which can't be read it here. That you have to go to https://amicoage.neocities.org to read. You only have to go 10 pages into that thread to see that TT was sprouting nonsense from the very beginning. Starting in February 2019 TT was already announcing that great surprises about the system and games would soon be revealed in June 2019 at the E3 convention. Of course that never happened. Since it was June 2019, the Covid pandemic could not be the excuse for it not happening. From when TT's started his thread, there was over 1 year to get things done before Covid started and 20 months before the initial release date. Yet for years TT would say the console delay was because of the pandemic. But during the same pandemic they were able to open and staff multiple offices around the world. As you read the thread it pretty much degenerates into TT attacking anyone who asks questions he does not like. Eventually a specific moderator would come along and ban individuals seemingly at TT's direction. What's also amazing is that can't read what occurred at AA on AA.

It will be a plug and play with the pre installed games being the only ones ever available. For $340 it will blow away any atgames offering But at least the pre installed games will be exclusive and only fully experienced with the Amico’s unique controller. (And just ignore that we were told you could use your cell phone as a controller. Which should not matter as there will be no way to download the controller app) There is no way this is coming out in its present form. You are assuming that IE is actually looking for feedback from those 2 individuals. Who knows if they even want any feedback. So much of what TT said was implying X without actually stating it is happening. Someone would respond saying look they are doing X. TT would say something like wouldn’t that be something without actually confirming they are doing X. Then folks would go posting isn’t it great they are doing X. Rinse and repeat over and over. Total BS promotion.

I do not believe there was any traditional focus group testing. A common pattern shown was to imply things without actually saying them. The person reading it would then assume what was meant without them actually saying anything. We were told there was "focus group" testing. One assumes this involves utilizing an independent company to obtain panels of individuals with certain demographics, letting them use the console, play games and get feedback. But never once did they say that is what they actually did. Tbey could just have just let their family or friends try a game, see if they like it and say they did "focus group" testing. But the reader / listener comes a different conclusion.

I paid 79.99 for AVP at Babbages. I was on the first shipment to the store. I believe they received only 4 or 5 copies. I paid 59.99 for most others.

Why would there be a victory lap. TT and his folks are the ones that have been worked up all these years. TT said this would be a smashing success. It failed. Nothing more need be said. Just keep pointing out how TT called anyone critical of it "haters," "living in parents basement," "fat" and more much more personal insults. Keep pointing out TT's many self professed accomplishments. Amazing during all of this that TT or his supporters never thought to themselves that a simple Google search by potential buyers would unearth this crap and why would a family want to buy this toy after reading that stuff. What is amazing is reading the achieved thread at https://amicoage.neocities.org. The behavior shown for what is nothing more than a retro toy is unbelievable. I'm talking talking about those critical of the toy. Reading what MrBeefy posts occurred behind the scenes is beyond unbelievable. It's almost like the project was run by a bunch of real life "Mean Girls" and not adults.
