Yes, I have the kits to do the Bally here. I ordered 50 but I am missing the LMH1251s for putting many together but I have one or two for testing. If testing goes well I will put together a few for others to test. I don't have time to do anything at all till this Sunday.
I should have pictures so hopefully it goes well. I have to write the code and I haven't so much as done anything with it yet (no time)/
The Fairchild is a whole nother thing. I couldn't figure it out because it's such a high voltage on the PPU and because they keep cooking themselves. I have spent over 1000 dollars on Fairchilds and idk if I can keep throwing money at it. I'm moderately certain its possible on the REV1; lets just focus on the Bally for now and Ill probably do a Coleco thing soon after.
You should reach out to the ballyalley@groups.io group, lots of guys in the know and old school Bally guys who could answer any questions to help with and rgb mod. @kenzre or @Allen Schweitzer here as well 👍

I had a Bally Computer System model in the 80's right before it relaunched as the Astrocade. Now I've got too many but they include the Home Library Computer, Professional Arcade (regular, Montgomery Ward regular, and Montgomery Ward White), Computer System and Astrocade models.

Hi Mike,
Good to see you with us bro. I really want to purchase the AES version of the Limited Edition Jesus MKII and the Regular Edition as well. But they don't take PayPal at this time. Were trying to find other solutions, personally when it comes to payment, I really feel secure using PayPal more. Hope they will eventually take care of the issue soon.
Anthony..
Oh wow, no PayPal? What are they accepting then? Yeah I'd need PaPal myself if I decide to buy a copy.

Re: Cyborg Force
Really wish they'd offer a shockbox with artwork for the regular MVS copy or make another option package (also, it would be nice to see which "softcase" they plan to use and if the art is different than the AES versions).
Honestly I dont need a shirt that wont fit (who wears a large to begin with? let alone a Euro size which is more likes a US medium) nor do I need the other extras. But I like a box and artwork to put an MVS copy in.

I'm glad Atari owns Stern now and let you keep selling this. Was their percentage reasonable?
When did Atari buy Stern? I thought it was just a license deal...

Ive been an active gamer for 44 years. Ive never seen an instance where a super fantastic game has been developed (7800 Popeye), and nobody can purchase the damn thing. Lol
I see that all the time with homebrews for other systems.

I saw them! Believe me, the premise of a 512k bank switching cart is enticing for sure. The backbit pro could probably be modified/utilized to get to 1 meg (or more) with bank switching. For the 512K cart did it bank switch the entirely of the 8K of ram or was it switching 4K at a time. I'd really rather reserve the 4K for execution code and cycle through in 4K chunks using one byte would give you a meg of memory. Two bytes would give you over 200 meg. Anything in between would be clumsy programming but could be done. Curious how the 512K cart worked as I don't yet fully understand the memory map of the Bally or what the Z80 sees. But regardless, I would like to conquer some 8K stuff first. I have another system calling to me at the moment as well, so my plan is to make the bitmap converter, one enhancement and then move on and come back. So many ideas, so little time.
So I was more the "idea man" on the project, wanting a bank switched cart for gaming, so I got the right people together to make it happen and paid for the prototypes to be built. Steve Tucker / Atarimax designed the 4 prototype carts we had made, initially the plan was for "128k" hence I called it the 128k Project. Steve wound up creating 256k carts instead and later upgraded 2 of them to 512k. Steve worked with us and a lot of the people from the Bally / Astrocade scene who post to the ballyalley@groups.io group.
Adam archived the material and software which might answer some of the questions you have on his ballyalley website:
https://ballyalley.com/documentation/bally128k-com/whatsnew.htmIts a shame we never got to put it into production, I know Michael Garber and I both had games in our head we wanted to release on the Astrocade, and pairing the 512k board along with a 64K RAM expansion would have been amazing...

Chris you should check out some the graphic sutff Michael Garber was working on with the 512k cart back in the day, I uploaded 2 videos I made of the graphic demos he created, you can view them at the bottom of my page:
https://msdconsulting.wixsite.com/128kgamesThe one with Pikachu was pretty cool...

None of the above, you need an option for modern AES console that plays new / enhanced "max 330 giga" carts & is backwards compatible 😉

Hi everyone!
I'm very happy (and a bit proud too ;)) to announce that my Neo-Geo game Yo-Yo Shuriken is now available in physical release for the home Neo Geo AES console!
This physical release is made a reality thanks to Neo Geo specialist JapanGameOnline @japangameonline who is manufacturing, publishing and selling the game. This gorgeous release comes with a Snaplock box (hard case), a newly manufactured AES cartridge and a manual. It's available in both US style and Japanese style variants, so it should blend nicely in the rest of your AES collection!
Here is a photo of the US version, available from here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/235200451697
And here is the Japanese one, available from here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/325821703500
Due to the difficulties and high costs of manufacturing new complete-in-box AES games today, this will be a limited release. Each copy is numbered, and we'll make a maximum of 50 units in total (US and Japanese versions combined, we could only manufacture 50 cartridges).
And of course, if you buy the Neo-Geo AES physical release, you'll also receive the ROM versions for free (CD, AES and MVS)!
I hope you'll enjoy them!
Is there an MVS release of this also or on the way? I stopped playing on my AES years ago and switched to an Omega.

Congratulations Albert, what a very interesting course of events 👏 I look forward to the Netflix movie next year 😉 In all seriousness as I have love for other systems like the Astrocade how do you see this and other non-Atari sub forums being impacted by the change? Also what about systems that might compete directly with Atari or Atari licensed products? Thanks and good luck to you 👍

I bought an untested astrocade. In addition to some other issues, the power supply is blown (there's a melted spot through the case).
I have the specs on the PS and can make one using 2 transformers, but I have to wonder - does anyone out there have a PS for an astrocade I could buy reasonably before I go down this route?
Thanks.
Allen Schweitzer might be able to help 😉

Naughty Boy was the first PCB i had in the First arcade cabinet i owned in 1988!.😀 Fun game!
Naughty Boy was a favorite for me bitd at a local, indoor farmers market. Amongst the farmers wares of fruits, vegetables and a some of the best sour pickles I've ever eaten was a barley lit booth stuffed with video games slapped together, probably all bootlegs! Good times and good memories 🤟

Hmm, haven't seen one for sale in a while, I think someone is thinking of selling one on Facebook, I'll see what they're asking. I mean you could always throw a price on it ($500) and entertain offers.

Ok 🤔… price charting only had the re-released price and not this limited original. Thought that would be worth more.
This is the red cartridge yes? I know they had a number of variations on this cart.

Not that I've ever seen, on rare occasions I have seen just the overlays show up on eBay, but honestly it might just be cheaper to pick up another BASIC cart, they're usually pretty cheap.

I just noticed that he sold a bunch of repros on eBay back in May. It looks like his more recent copies of Pac-Man were sold as "Munchie" and used the artwork that was intended for the commercial release.
Wow, really? Had no idea, kinda messed up because there actually is a proto / finished ROM of Munchie out there.

I had this on my calendar but life got in the way, if another cartridge run happens or another option is available please post it, thanks.

I believe there's a way to rgb mod the Bally Astrocade...
in Bally Arcade/Astrocade
Posted · Edited by 128Kgames
As long as its internal for the Bally and 100% functional a Bally / Coleco board doesn't bother me. I see it as a win win for both consoles.
I did an internal mod on my Astrocade years ago with the 8bitDomain S-VIDEO board which I'd switch out for something like this, and hopefully run the cables the same way without cutting like I did for the S-VIDEO board. To me it looked real smooth and the fact that I didnt have to cut the console was a plus (I hate modding the cases with holes on vintage machines).
