Same as Adam stated, I've never seen that before. Could be some type of epoxy that was used, maybe not in house but maybe a previous owner. I'm used to seeing what passed as thermal past from back in the day, a grey, metallic colored substance that they used at that time ('77, '78 ish). I wasn't into computers back then so I don't know what it was made of. That being said, I know epoxy has been used to attach heatsinks before and I think still is, and not even the metallic type. Maybe its something like this: https://www.boydcorp.com/thermal/conduction-cooling/epoxy-interface-materials.html

GameCube to play the Resident Evil games... -
Magician Lord is what hooked me on the Neo Geo as well, having first played it a MVS 4 slot cab. The same mall had an Electronics Boutique which happened to have the AES for sale on the wall, and that was all it took to make me utter "it shall be mine"... 🤣 What a lot of people don't take into account when they compare the Neo Geo to the Genesis and Super Nintendo is that first and foremost SNK made Neo Geo games for the Arcade, that was their money maker. So whatever was making them money and arcade operators money, that's what they went for. I can't really see any of their titles being made with the AES in mind as opposed to the MVS. Maybe if the console had been more widespread, things would have been different. Although you have to give props to SNK for continuing to release MVS titles for the AES years after they stopped making the console...

That's actually a nice package, haven't seen a box for either the vecfever or robot arena (assuming 3rd party) plus he's got the 3d printed horizontal stand + an overlay. Also unless I'm mistaken that's a vecfever II (going by the vecfever 128 mb label).

Here's a quick look at Berzerk for ColecoVision...

Ah, thanks for the video man, wasn't sure if they had included voices or not, glad to see they did! -
Right, but people are "playing" these games for money, and nobody is going to be making money off these so not sure what the draw is going to be. Unless 1Up is going to enable online gambling on these somehow...

Oh, I thought you were referring to CollectorVision titles, yeah I have no idea about missing Coleco titles. Announced and actually released? Cause there's 31 Coleco titles there now, and I'm not including CollectorVision titles.

Yeah, Thomas didn't charge much for the VecFever, but the VecFever Mark II cart was double the cost of the original. Had I known he was going to stop making them altogether, I would have picked up one of the Mark II SD card based models as well.

I second that motion! The roller controller would make this a no-brainer 👍

Keyboard/Cart Port Cover and Unmarked Controllers?
128Kgames replied to BassGuitari's topic in Bally Arcade/Astrocade
The fact that Astrovision then Astrocade basically went and threw whatever stock they had in a box to get it out the door lends more to someone saying let's print some stickers and slap them on the Incredible Wizard boxes to get some cash rolling in! Hence why we've seen so many console variations in the wrong box, wrong labels and wrong controllers just thrown together at times, and I'm confident they went out the door that way. Not to mention where things went sideways when they went bankrupt 🤣 But these are all hypotheses on our parts, the history after Bally is so crazy its not even funny. -
Keyboard/Cart Port Cover and Unmarked Controllers?
128Kgames replied to BassGuitari's topic in Bally Arcade/Astrocade
Well really, it's because Astrovision wanted to save money and use existing stock 😉 I doubt the box sticker had anything to do with the license agreement but boxes cost money and they wanted to use up the existing inventory 😁 -

Keyboard/Cart Port Cover and Unmarked Controllers?
128Kgames replied to BassGuitari's topic in Bally Arcade/Astrocade
Completely agree with your assessments; the Astrocade controllers were no longer labelled "Bally" at some point, most likely a change was made to the controller mold. At what point they were introduced is unclear, as we know Astrovision and then Astrocade sold the remaining stock acquired in the purchase from Bally before changing over to the Astrocade - The Professional Arcade branded systems. The 4 Astrocade branded consoles I own have the blank control handles. -
1Up's support was great for the first six months, and they even had phones 😉 Went all down hill from there. Heard they got better but it seems I heard wrong.

Well RC charges $100 to ship + tax so really about the same price for Tron, plus with Target they have discounts etc. that can be applied sometimes.
