Thanks for everybody's interest.
The offers I've received so far and systems on the open market are a bit out of my price range at the moment. I'm open to trades for a BackBit cart & other accessories I sell.
I'm fine with systems that are in need of work or with cosmetic defects.
I'll be packing up the bulk of my Bally / Astrocade collection this weekend, not sure but I may have something you can work with. The thing with these systems as I'm sure you've found is the ones that work are, well, expensive. But let me see what I can come up with and then we can go from there.
I see you have adapters for the Color Computer 2 and 3 - any chance you'll support the original TRS-80 Color Computer? My uncle a former Raytheon Engineering Manager had one when I was growing up and was kind enough to give it to me during the pandemic, but I've yet to set it up.

I've received some interest, and I'd like to get my BackBit multi-system cartridge working on the Bally Astrocade.
Feature-wise, it would plug into the expansion port on the back, have a USB port or jumper option for power, play games off a MicroSD card, and it would support RAM expansion & bank-switching ROM.
The actual development of the adapter & software wouldn't take much time but I need to get my hands on a system. I'm even open to taking on one in poor cosmetic condition and/or that needs some repairs. I can trade a BackBit cart w/ adapter and possibly some of my other products as well.
I've never been a fan of using the expansion port for anything but RAM or a computer expansion module, and certainly not a multicart. In fact I shot down the idea when I started the 128k Project 10+ years ago to build the first bankswitching cart for the Astrocade. This fit into a standard cart shell and required no external power.
As your device is handling much more than just a bankswitched cart I get the need to use it (expansion) but aesthetically I hate the thought of anything hanging off the back.
Keep in mind using the expansion port requires physically breaking off a part of the Astrocade case which doesn't go back on, so some people may take issue with that.
Maybe someone with 3D printing experience can come up with a cover for case hole for when your device is disconnected.
I'll look through my collection to see if I have any consoles you can use.

Looks like a Star Crash figure, in case those exist haha! It's funny I have a Slik Stik, and one of those drum machines being advertised on the back.
Oh AND it sold for $200!?? I guess the quality of crack out there is improving...
...at least it's not an NFT...?

The Kickstarter for Monetzuma's Revenge is now live.
For those interested, here's the link:
NES Montezuma's Revenge! by Normal Distribution LLC — Kickstarter
Backed! Surprised this hasn't hit its goal already, but I think the big gap between CIB and the Limited Edition might have something to do with it. Another option between $50 - $175 might be nice.

Announced back in November, iiRcade on Friday launched the Alpha version of this supporting 5 titles so far:
Data East - Windjammers
Data East - Stadium Hero 96
Toaplan - Out Zone
Data East - Magical Drop III
UNiCO - Dragon MasteriiRcade's plan is to support online multiplayer for all retro titles that support 2 player turn based, competitive or co-op, so imagine playing games like Space Invaders (coming soon) online against someone else.
So anyone on the fence about a multicade mike want to take a second look.

Couldn't be further from the truth re: iiRcade.
They just added online play for 2 player games with the plan on supporting as many games as possible. 5 titles just went online on Friday like Data East's Neo Geo title Windjammers.
So yeah 2 player online support for original arcade games like Space Invaders, Magical Drop III and possibly every other game that supports 2 player turn based, competative or co-op?
Yeah, I'd say that's pretty damn special ?

To each their own, but I think this game is well done and I enjoy playing it. Video Game Critic has nice things to say about it, too. https://videogamecritic.com/mobile/astrocc.htm?e=11049#rev4478
Yeah, not sure who (or if) reviwed this but the opening lines "a limited-release" title is completely inaccurate: this is an unfinished, incomplete game, truly a "prototype." I think someone was just blowing smoke up someone's arse when they wrote that. This isn't "Muncher" after all...

As far as I know, there is no place to communicate about these problems except threads like this or on the GitHub page. Honestly, I've basically given up hope that the "pixel clock" issue will be fixed. I'm still satisfied with my purchase even if it never gets fixed, but it does sorta downgrade my overall experience.
There is also a dedicated CollectorVision Phoenix group on Facebook, if you use it:

I'm probably going to get yelled at from people for this, but I really don't care as I feel it needs to be said...
I have been using my CollectorVision Phoenix for well over two years now and it works AWESOME! It literally is the only piece of hardware I basically play ColecoVision games on anymore. I've never had any issues with it at all. I've never needed anything special to get it to work. It's great. Honestly, it's just a fantastic little piece of hardware. I have 5 different TVs in my house, all of different sizes and models, and no issues.
I don't really need or care about any additional "cores" either as IMO this was a ColecoVision first and anything else it may or may not eventually do is a "bonus." The fact that it does actually play a pretty vast library of Atari 2600 ROMs is a wonderful bonus and I thank CollectorVision for that!
I'm in the same boat TPR, I bought the Phoenix to use just as a modern day ColecoVision, I really had no interest in running other cores on it. I had no desire at the time to modify any of my existing Colecos (this was before mods like Ruggers Customs makes).
While I haven't had any issues with my main TV with it (surprising as its an older 4K LG SUHD and it can be "finicky" with its HDMI) I can see how it can be frustrating if it doesn't work for some people. But that's just how it goes sometimes, its not like CollectorVision is Sony or Microsoft, and I'm sure those guys are doing what they can. Like J-F said its not like they don't want the Phoenix to work!
I don't think there is anything that's ever "100%" compatible with everything, at least I've never come across anything that is.

It's not like Bally / Astrocade proto carts are hard to find, they show up all the time on eBay. That seller just likes to draw attention to their other items with the exorbitantly priced ones ?

Glad to see you're keeping the memory of the Neo Geo alive Anthony! With Xeno Crisis released and NeoTris looks like you still have more to keep you going!

...so I picked up two volcano buttons for my Tempest cab, and I 3D printed an adapter so they fit in the normal button holes.
However, I'm unsure of two things regarding the wiring for the lights:
- I am assuming these are 5V lamps? The site doesn't really say.
- If so, does anyone know where can I pick up 5V from? If I have to use 12V, I assume I'll have to use a resistor to get it down to 5V.
I've watched some videos of the installation (like this one), but it isn't really spelled out enough for me:
He gives a diagram at the end, but it doesn't help me much.
Any ideas would be appreciated, and thank you.
Bob
Bob I'm assuming these are real volcano style buttons? I'm asking only because I swear I've seen ones made now for the 1Up cabs, or in the process of being made.

Hmmm so did iiRcade not have exclusivity on Double Dragon in the 3/4 market or....did that exclusivity expire? Though the DD iiRcade cabinet is currently sold out, I just saw a thing rumored that they are doing a "new" style Double Dragon (iiRcade). All very interesting. As a Brawler fan and a Double Dragon fan... I would say that while I love old school DD...they would have to make sure they put some other goodies on there too to be worth a spot in my arcade. Like maybe the fighter of the same name, and/or others in the line.
I don't think there was any "exclusivity" as it wasn't a "Double Dragon" cabinet, it was the "Black Edition" cabinet that came with Double Dragon graphics that the user could apply. Unlike their other cabinets, this is designed to be customized by the buyer. As far as cabinets go, iiRcade is releasing a new, "2.0" cabinet that includes a light up marquee. We don't know which models (if any) from their 1.0 line will be carried over.

However,
Agreed, whoever did this should be shunned, and if I ever discover this was someone on the AtariAge Forum, I would ban that individual immediately. If you don't like what Milli is doing, fine, don't buy his games. But hacking his game to remove demo restrictions and then spreading that binary around is a major dick move.
..Al
His original Facebook post had the email header with the sender's address, not sure if it's still up.
Edit: my bad, he only showed the subject and his address, not the sender. He did post the guys purported name.

"Thank you for the rom. It is now hacked to be full version for which will be spread around the internet because we all hate you."
Yeah, that was a dick move, cracking someone's game and throwing it in their face.

Exactly. Provide a link to CVAddict if he wants then let his product be the key driver for his club which it should be. If people like his games and wish to support him, they can. I have no problems with that.
That, or mirror or host the freely available ROMS on his site and make them available to everyone, no membership required. Provided none of the owners object. Or something like that.

My very first ColecoVision hombrew title ever, a fantastic port indeed! As Pixelboy said the marketplace here is a good place to start, there are also Facebook groups dedicated to ColecoVision that would be a good place to post.
