  1. Thanks Tempest, I'll keep that in mind for any future listings. I'm used to selling on other sites like blu-ray.com where people bump every 24 hours.
  2. Steve got mine today, looking forward to booting it up tomorrow to check it out. Question: what file formats are supported for the ROM images? ZIP? RAR? Or only ROM? And do they all go in the 32k ROM folder? (The ones under 32K, anyway).
  3. WOW. Just wow. That's pretty F'd up that it has come to this. I've been watching this issue since it first blew up and frankly I can't believe everything that's come out. And all the other posts with people trying to point their fingers now at all the homebrewers crying "Witch!", "Witch!", "burn them at the stake!” All because they've written games based on some other companies work. Come on, that's ridiculous, this has been done for as long as I can remember. I played a Star Trek came on my cousin's Tandy Color Computer back in the day, you think that was licensed by Paramount? It's all for fun, isn't it? It's cool to be playing these games on systems they were never written for. Nobody in the scene is here to get rich off of this as far as I know (well, maybe a few guys over in the Neo Geo scene but that's a different story). Isn't this still just a hobby for most of us? So some pin head goes and sells everybody's ROMS without asking. Big deal, get him to pull them from his site and whatever he was selling and let's move on. And no I don't buy his whole "I was just trying to promote the SD cart" thing. It's getting plenty of promotion here just fine. Bottom line is the guy should have contacted you people before selling them just to confirm it was OK to release them. That would have been the right thing to do. You should see the guys over on the the Yahoo! Bally group, they double check everything when it comes to ROMS and the whole what was released to the public domain thing. Eduardo and some of the rest of you I've known and dealt with for a while now, buying what I can when I can. We've emailed each other back and forth a few times, and while I'm not best friends so to speak with anyone in particular, that doesn't mean people like me and others don't care. I really hope you guys don't let this thing just blow up like it has to the point where you can't put things back together. That would be a real shame in the long run. Besides, my two year old isn’t old enough to play these games yet, so we need you around for a while longer. I really hope all of you can get past this, and let things get back to the way they used to be. And Eduardo, whatever you do, don't close up shop over this. I think in the long run you would regret it, being that you are so passionate about the Coleco and your other interests.
  4. Just pre-ordered this Steve, looks pretty cool. I've had your USB cart for a while but have always been too lazy to load it up completely (don't ask me why, it's not like I don't have a gazillion USB cables lying around...). I like the SD card design so I can finally load everything up in one shot (again, lazy, I know, but it comes with old age). Plus the fact that future games will be available, from what I gather. Someone should make a cool looking box to go with this...(pixelboy *cough*cough* retroillucid *cough*cough*)
  5. Ouch! Hey, I didn't buy my first one (Neo Geo), it was bought for me! But if it's any consolation I worked real hard for at least another year to keep the girl that did real happy! I'll second that, but would probably have to favor the white Bally Professional Arcade "Montgomery Ward" version over an actual Astrocade branded console.
  6. Park a Lamborghini? Isn't that what those guys with the red jackets are for?
  7. Without the Oki chip can sounds such as voices still be reproduced? (Or whatever the voice/sound samples are called for say Wizard of War etc.). I know you touched on this stuff before Eduardo but I am pretty clueless when it comes to the Coleco hardware.
  8. Neo Geo AES, period. It's like the Lamborghini Countach of game consoles.
  9. The "Classic Edition" should be release this fall I've 3 games to be released first before the classic edition (Pooyan, Kobashi, Burn Rubber) Lode Runner should get released at the same time as the Classic Edition Pooyan! Pooyan! Pooyan! Seriously, though, glad to see it so close to being released. Feels like the pre-order was what, a year ago? Damn, I'm getting old. Have not had a chance to fire up Penguin Land yet but I'm sure it will be good. Thanks again for getting this out there and getting me my copy.
  10. eBay has ruined eBay: with their current auction fee model, I'm losing almost 10% on each sale. Granted, it maxes out at $50, but $50 is $50. If they hadn't jacked up their fees I doubt people would have jacked up their prices as much.
  11. J-F- Any updates? Still waiting for my copy...
  12. It's not even as up to date as it should be: no USB 3.0, DVI instead of HDMI etc., etc., ... I saw those keyboard PCs advertised for years in PC Magazine, back when I used to read it when it was still in print, seemed a cool idea but I don't think they have ever really taken off...
  13. Great news man! After all these years its finally going to happen! The names great, glad you went with it, can't wait to actually own it! Never did like Coleco pulling the old switcheroo on me going with the Adam instead of the Super Game Module, especially after seeing it (SGM) at an electronics show back in the day. Man I wanted one so bad! I was very into ColecoVision back in the day, even selling my 2600 collection to pay for it (I was only 15 and no paper route for me!) You rock, dude. PS You should change the thread title when you get the chance...
  14. Painting my friend, not car, but that's only 'cause I've watched it way too many times... I agree though you never know who is buying what and for what reason. Plus the high bidder has feedback of 1242 so he could be just the type of person you were writing about.
  15. My post wasn't a direct response to any one person, rather a general response to some of the others. I'm sorry J-F didn't PM my sooner, but hopefully my response to him let's him know we are all still behind him 100%.
  16. Glad to see so many people post comments without fully understanding the situation. There are many of us that support J-F as well as the others like him that support the CV and other systems through their games. But that doesn't mean we aren't free to voice our comments or opinions just like everyone else, even if they don't agree with everyone else. They are just opinions people, and everybody's got them. I've already spoken my peace here and in a PM with J-F directly, and as far as I'm concerned he and I are still cool. No harm, no foul. I hope we can all get back on track with just waiting for the game to be released, whenever that happens. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
