Penguin Land (ColecoVision) PRE-ORDER
128Kgames replied to retroillucid's topic in Homebrew Discussion
Every copies of Mario Bros are assembled and ready to ship Penguin Land boxes are not glued, I've to do it and it's very time consuming I'll be able to glued them all within a month. They'll all be ready to ship If you desperately need your copy much soon, then I'll ship it to you much soon I understand that some folks who purchase Penguin Land are waiting for their copies, but you must understand that I was waiting for PCBs for about 2-3 months, there was nothing I can do to make it faster, trust me Albert was out of PCBs and I was looking for someone else for providing me PCBs Come on, I really respect and I'm very thankfull for all fans who support our games And to explain why some folks will received their Penguin Land copies much sooner is only because I'll save time, think of it, I'll need 2 boxes instead of two and will have to go to post services 2 times... Desperation has nothing to do with it J-F, as myself and others have waited patiently for you to finish and ship it. I may have asked you for an update here and there but nothing out of the ordinary and certainly nothing obsessive. I think you are going to turn a lot of people off to pre-ordering with you in the future (myself included) with this one. If Penguin Land becomes ready to ship, then you should ship them first and hold off on the rest of your Mario orders. Don't keep people waiting another month who have already waited five months just because it's convenient for you to ship two games in one box. That's just not good business. -

So let me get this strait: Just because you shipped me Mario Bros. already I have to wait another month for Penguin Land? Is that what you are trying to say? That just does not make sense J-F. I'm sure I'm not the only one who paid you upfront for it when you asked for pre-orders (try September 21, 2009 via PayPal). I understand you having to finish your Mario Bros. orders but take care of those of us that support you too man. If I misunderstood your reply please let me know. -

Yeah J-F, I'm with AX: what about those of us that paid for Penguin Land, already received our other carts (Ghost N Zombies, Mario Bros.), are you shipping our Penguin Land carts next week? -
HDMI. You should have an HDMI connection on the CV2.

Got my set and I have to say this is a top notch job. The controllers alone look great and I can't wait to try them out once Mario Bros. shows up in mailbox. The fact that he made inserts for the game and the packaging on top of it is just like icing on a cake; it really completes the whole "package" feel of the controller set. Well done Yurkie!

Have any of the Mario carts gone out? I have a controller set on the way from Yurkie that's going to look awful lonely without a cart to go with it... -

Please help with the ColecoVision Opgrade Module
128Kgames replied to opcode's topic in Opcode Games
Ah, OK, gotcha, no, if making modifications to an existing case were to come into play that would defeat what I envisioned as a drop in replacement, where you wouldn't be modifying or destroying anything. This would also serve to preserve the original board. So a PCB couldn't be created to fit into the existing case, utilize the same holes etc. and still have all the upgrades? Come on, if anybody can do it, you can Eduardo! Now, if you could produce a new case, maybe something along the lines of a "mini" ColecoVison like the Atari Flashback 2, that might be pretty cool! -
Very nice, are they comparable in thickness to the original ColecoVision labels? I know the original front label has a little bit of thickness to it, having removed it for cleaning and re-gluing. Also, I can't tell from the pictures exactly but are they identical in "color" to the originals too? Specifically the "silver" or "chrome" as you put it as well as the "ColecoVison" colors. I tried blowing the pics up for more detail but they got too pixelated.

I thought the "standalone" CV was just going to replace the internals on existing consoles, no? I did not realize you were looking to create a entire replacement for the CV. This was what I was referring to back in post # 83, which Pixelboy replied to stating: "OCCV = One-chip ColecoVision = new motherboard for CV that incorporates the OM. It's the third option in the poll." Since no one contradicted him, I assumed thats what the standalone was meant to be. I'm sorta with youki in that I'm not looking for 16-bit upgrades or computer upgrades, however I do want the "standalone" CV to incorporate the upgrades of the Super Game Module add-on, which I thought the "standalone" was supposed to have. Upgraded video/audio out, either the built in flash memory idea or a flash/USB/SD slot of some kind to load and run games from, like your original idea. I won't through $$$ figures at you because frankly I don't really know what this would cost you in parts, labor etc. When you have an idea of $$$, then I'll chime in. -
This would be like the labels for your ColecoVision, correct? Do you have any more pics of what it looks like? I tried your website but it seems to be down?

Thanks man, Bruce is definitely "The King" in that flick! It would have been cool if he had signed on for the sequel, especially since it was just a gag to begin with. I've never actually had anything professionally printed before (I've been dragging my feet on getting a Neo Geo Gold MVS control panel reproduced for years) so I'm wondering if any of the arcade overlay places might be a place to start. I know Pixelboy is looking into getting some ColecoVision overlays made up, so I might run this past him to see if he has any ideas.

Does anybody sell original or reproduction ColecoVision console labels? I'm talking about the front silver/black label with the multi-color "ColecoVision" on it, as well as the "On/Off, Insert Cartridge Here" top label. I've got some consoles that are overall in good shape, but with labels that are scratched, peeling and/or warped. I was hoping somebody would have some originals, like maybe eColeco, but I don't see these listed on their site. Reproductions would work also, provided they are the same type material, color match etc.

Yes, I have one of those as well. Kind of gaudy though, not something I would want for everyday use. But I was speaking strictly from the "look" of the controller, that I liked the design of the "The Power Stick" best. Say the Power Stick design with a modern upgrade for the joystick, buttons # pad etc. That could be pretty cool. Basically replacing the innards. I'd also change the red colors to grey to match the original controllers on the ColecoVision, maybe make the joystick black though. Endless possibilities. -
