I appreciate the comprehensive reply, thanks.
I was hoping before mine arrived, that it would have had a little bit of lift at one of the corners, so I wouldn't have been so nervous about taking it off to have a look, but it's in very good condition, and like yourself, can't pick up the courage to do it.
I did it to the first card I ever got, a Rygar, and it has never stuck back properly, and the sticker has what I would describe as tide-marks, where the graphic ink has come away in lines as the sticker was peeled back.
There is no way in hell I'm going to attempt that again, definitely not on something as potenitally rare as this. Thing is, your one might be even rarer than mine, even if it does have hacked information.

Klax is the only one that got a complete overhaul of box, manual, cart and (it seems) ROM. Most of the other games had Japanese manuals that were modified, but that's it otherwise.
First up, thanks for your reply - didn't think resuscitating a topic as old as this would get a response.
I finally got my JAP Klax card, and ran it side-by-side with a regular curved lip card, and I couldn't notice any difference between the two. The intro section is there, and so are the sound effects such as the clapping and voices. Your original post from 2003 said that these were missing.
Have you rechecked your card since then? Maybe in another unit. It could turn out that your card is normal, somehow when you tested it something may have been amiss (sticky buttons, dirty contacts, sub-space interference).

Actually, the boxes are different. The GOZ box I have is the larger type, and contains a FLAT card. Artwork and screenshot is the same, title is placed a little differently on the front, but the text on the back is different. I'm guessing that the box up in the Lynx section is the later, smaller box?
I can have proper scans done, if someone from the site wants them, and of the manual. The quirky cartoons might be of interest, pictures of the Lynx within are of the type I casing.

[*]Tee Off Golf was released, and in fact, seems to be the only golf game the Dreamcast ever got.
Technically, there was a sequel, but only a JPN release:
Golf Shiyouyo 2 (Aratanaru Chousen)

This KLAX card, does anyone have any more info on it? Rarity? Value? Source (official or otherwise)? Comparison of data? (I won one on eBay a short time ago, but haven't physically got it yet, so eventually I might be able to provide an answer to the last question).
Also, were any other Japanese releases made with this type of card? I have a Japanese Gates of Zendocon, and the only difference seems to be with the manual (some nice childish-cartoony graphics). As far as I can tell from the scans in the Lynx section, the boxes are identical.

If they're brand new, it sounds like a fairly good price to me.
There may be cheaper sources, but at telegames.co.uk, total would come to approx $225 (then add P&P on top of that).

Nope, not the one I was remembering, but thanks anyway.

Does anyone know what pins / badges are available. If you can add to the list below, I'd be very grateful. I understand there is also an Atari Lynx one, but I'd really like to know which were released for the games.

Someone posted a link to a site (external to eBay), where you could enter a username, and see lists of stuff they've sold, won, or even just bid or are currently bidding on.
Can anyone point me to that site again? Thanks.

the CD-Rom just sends the audio straight to your sound card, which can mix it with whatever else it's already doing, so you get sound for free. Of course, MP3's are a different story...
Are there any CD/DVD-ROM units for PC's on the market that will read and decode MP3's directly to the sound card?
I know there probably isn't much call for this, but just wondering...

I think the list for bad games is probably much shorter than the list of good games...
My personal favs are Rampart, Robotron 2084, Xenophobe, Rygar, and I wish I had Toki. In fact, most of the arcade ports are excellent, even Steel Talons, when you consider the original.
Of course, Tournament Cyberball is the exception - get it only if you are a collector (the poster is cool though).
There are then the original Epyx games which are excellent too, like Cal. Games, Blue Thunder and Chips Challenge.
In fact, get 'em all!

Just wondering if anyone has tried out the NeoGeo CD emulator for the Dreamcast, and if yes, how does it play?
Some of my favourites are on the NeoGeo hardware and are available on CD too, so I was thinking of picking up a few CD's (if cheap enough) to try it out.
Are there CD images available anywhere to "try-before-I-buy"?

Where are you seeing Xenophobe and Ninja Gaiden for 99.99?

Wild Metal for the Dreamcast. I love tank games, and this one is my favorite so far. The action is somewhat slow, but the physics model is excellent, and some of the levels are designed very well (especially one of the later levels that includes an enormous warship frozen in a glacier) and last quite some time (upwards of 30 minutes per level, even when you know your way around it). Incidentally, Rockstar actually released Wild Metal into the public domain, so you can download the PC version for free from their website. It's definitely worth a download.

Was thinking about picking this up for the [DC] - how does it compare to the PC version? Same/better/worse? The reviews haven't been too complementary, but I though it looked and sounded like a decent game to play (Downloading it to try as I type).
Also, kudos to the guys up above for praising Slave Zero - the multiplayer maps are pretty cack, but the main game is quite decent and challenging.

Does Roadblasters have signs on the side of the road? I don't recall, but could be wrong.
Anyway, to whoever is VERY interested, this link has ALL the roadsigns in Checkered Flag listed and located:
http://www.cheek.org/atari/lynx/checkere.htm
There are signs not only for Lynx games, but also for the ST, TT, Portfolio, and the prototype GeoDuel.
Actually, you can backtrack into the site to check out the info on other games. There is lots of stuff there that isn't in AtariAge:

For some reason, a lot of the Data East games come under the manufacturer Nihon Bussan/AV Japan:

I'm not sure why though (maybe an overseas subsiduary of Nihon Bussan/AV Japan).
Anyway, their demise was declared here:

Some of my memories would include Karate Champ, Midnight Resistance (easy with a good arcade joystick - nigh impossible with a keyboard), Burnin' Rubber and Burgertime.

Good work!

I know what you're talking about, but wouldn't have a definitive answer, as there were probably lots of variants made. I've seen a few (years ago thought), and from what you describe, it's something like the first link below, only with one motorbike. The orientation may have been more like the second link.

Anyway, check out the whole site - there is a driving list a little over half-way down the page:

If you're going to google, you'll need keywords like "Driving Games Electro Mechanical Motorcycle Scrolling Background".
Best of luck with it.
