  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8144844205 At least he's honest in his description of the game, although you'd wonder why anyone would BIN after reading his review.
  2. Well, looks like some other enterprising seller beat you to it... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW
  3. Just had a bit of a fright trying to log on to eBay... I put in my username and password, and was greeted with the following message: Your sign in information is not valid. Please try again. Then I remembered that I had changed my password yesterday
  4. I'm c*****.w****@**-********.ie The hotmail address means nothing to me. Does hotmail allow mail to be sent that pretends it's from another address? I thought this was only possible with some e-mail programs (hardly Outlook Express, but I dunno).
  5. Well, the sender looks genuine - this is how it shows up in Outlook: eBay Customer Support [aw-confirm@ebay.com] Even the headers look respectable: It's only when you see shit like hotmail poking it's head in that you begin to smell something.
  6. Here's one I got today if you want it. I've disrupted the address a little, but if you really want to have a look, you're going to have to do some editing - I don't want it to be real easy to accidently login, and then have someone blame me for posting a link. h t t p ://ho me.graf fiti.net/sdvs dvsd:graf fiti.net/ There shouldn't be any spaces in the link above. The e-mail pertained to my promotion to becoming a Power Seller, even though I HAVE NEVER SOLD ANYTHING ON EBAY!. It also said... ...although I think this is the third I've received in the last couple of months. NEway, enjoy, and take care.
  7. Yeah, it's a weak game, they coulda/shoulda done a lot better with this one... Home Run Derby is Ok though, about the only part worth playing. Still, I can't complain, I got a very nice copy (C-I-B) for less than €5.
  8. See this often, always makes me smile... like it's got a half-life or something (radioactive decay is a quantum process) - sorry, couldn't resist
  9. That's a mad link! How did you reach that? Through the users profile?
  10. Those scans really bring me back! Exactly how I remember them, typeset, layout, the cover of the magazine. Thanks for the memories *sniff* On a more serious note, yes, they admitted the device/devices was/were a spoof in either the next, or one after, issue, simply because they were getting loads of mail (snail) with owners of one dissing the other, and vice-versa. The first line of the article points this out. I remember wanting to get one or the other, so I was quite intrigued that these devices were on the horizon - I could get one, and the converter, and choose from a library from two consoles. I was heartbroken when I read that it was a hoax, stayed with playing the GB, and ended up buying a Lynx after the price had dropped to about £20 in 1994. Anyway, there I go off on a tangent again... Is there anything else worth looking at in that magazine? What's the review on Pinball Jam like?
  11. I was drooling over some of the pictures in that site in the link above...what's that thing with the green table and silver and red "mushrooms" sticking up out of it Never seen one of those before I suppose a link would help http://auctiongamesales.com/images/ags/ags...ne/DSCN0046.JPG

  13. You should check to see if you have any later editions of CVG or GO!. The clarification may have been in the main magazine, maybe in the editors letters. I can't recall exactly. But I am positive that the magazine had admitted that it was a spoof. Even though I wasn't much into consoles through the mid 90's until fairly recently again, it is a story that I've always remembered. I remember at the time, I couldn't decide if I wanted a Lynx or a GG, so I ended up getting a GB! GB had R-Type, and that's what sold me.
  14. I remember this issue. I haven't been a great one for keeping mags older than a couple of years, so it's long been trashed. However, it was a hoax. I think in the next issue, or maybe the one after that, they clarified that the converter device was indeed a spoof invented by the magazine, simply because of all the arguements at the time regarding which system was better, Lynx or GG.
  15. Yes, I believe that guy is the only one I've seen recently having replacement screens available. Also, there was a thread recently about getting rid of major scratches here recently - some of the suggestions there might be of help. http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...=lynx+scratches Minor scratches usually aren't a problem. I know one of my units has quite a few, but because your eyes are focussing a little further away, and if you're really into the game, you tend not to notice the scratches.
  16. Thanks for the info there. I'll only be using it in an extra controller, not outside, so the Japanese menus won't be an issue for me. Thanks again.
  17. I thought so. Thanks for the quick confirmation
  18. Does anyone know if the VMU devices for the Dreamcast controllers are region dependent? For example, one designed for use in Japan, will it work in US and European controllers?
  19. Which version (number) of MAME do you need it for? I seem to recall that some ROMs were changed/renamed fairly recently (within the last year), so knowing your version number might be important.
  20. Tough one alright. If you're not bothered about getting your positive, you could be really clever (sneaky) and wait until the auction is about to be removed (90 days is it?), then post your negative or neutral He won't be able to respond by throwing a neg at you, probably only able to post a follow up to your negative. IMO, totally ignoring your e-mails is not on though; different if there was an explanation to delay (death/illness/moving house/etc., may or may not be true), at least you'd be kept informed, and reassured that you mightn't be conned. You mightn't get your feedback though - looking at his numbers, it appears that he's left less than half of what he's received.
  21. Got my magnifying glass out - the one under Asteroids and Football?
  22. Jeez, you guys must really know your carts to be able to pick out individuals from a shot like that All I can make out is Pacman, Freeway and Laser Blast. Can anyone identify the cart above the Laser Blast cart, the one where only the bottom right corner is showing
  23. Lemmings is also on both systems. I can't compare, as I've only played the GG version, and in my opinion, it's a very good port, very playable. The GG screen is a bit blurrier with faster movement games, but because of the nature of Lemmings, this isn't a problem, it runs very well. Plus, you're likely to pay ten times less for a GG Lemmings cart! As a little extra, I really like the Lynx, because of the quality of some of the arcade conversions (Robotron, Rampart, Rampage and Rygar are all top quality cards), but I must admit that the GG has it's share of gems too. As far as platformers go, I think the GG excels, esp. with the Mickey Mouse series (the Sonics are very dull in comparison). Platformers on the Lynx aren't so hot (look at Batman Returns and Ninja Gaiden - complete rubbish - Rygar is the exception, as far as I've played). But I must admit that one of the most fun games I've ever played on either system is the tennis game on the 4-in-one cart for the GG - it reminds me a lot of the tennis game in the brilliant arcade game "Capcom Sports Club". It could have been an excellent two player game, but the CPU throws in a very good and fair game throughout the 4 difficulty settings.
  24. You should post a pic - the moulded shapes of the plastic would give some clues. Although if the slots for carts are for carts larger than the Lynx cards, then there is a good chance its for the GG.
