  1. It's cool when you find something you haven't seen reported before. Was messing with Super Skweek last night, looking at the cheats already there, and found this Easter Egg. For some reason, Handy and SS don't get along with the reset, but it is possible to do if instead of resetting in Handy, you begin a game (after doing the cheat), loose your lives, and begin another game. Anyway, here's what I've submitted: "BRAVO CHEAT ON: To view the ending sequence, you need to find the pink whale. First, select a normal game. At the map screen, zoom in so that the central axis of your spaceship is aligned with the leftmost part of the letter "O" of "welcOme island". Zoom in as far as you can, then move vertically downwards, and you will find the pink whale in the middle of the sea between Welcome Island and the clock. Press OPT 1 or OPT 2 and you will see the message "BRAVO CHEAT ON". Move away from the whale, and then press OPT 1 and PAUSE to reset the game. When you next select a normal or random game, you will be treated to the ending sequence of the game, with the two boys taking a well deserved rest. crc_73"
  2. I was playing Klax last night, and the strangest thing happened. I was on wave 3 or 4, and the game started spewing ONLY green tiles down the centre lane. I completed each wave up to wave seven, and it was still giving only greens down the centre lane. Of course, because wave seven is a diagonal wave, I was unable to complete it, and just got fed up with it, and let the tiles fall. When I continued the game, the random colours started coming out as normal (although there was a suprisingly high frequency of wild tiles coming out, but I've seen that happen before). Anyone else seen anything strange like this happen in Klax, or any other Lynx cart before?
  3. Ay carumba You should probably edit your signature want list; methinks you've got nearly everything there.
  4. If you have any unopened Telegames boxes, there might be one like this inside: http://www.atariage.com/catalog_overview.h...ml?CatalogID=74 I recently got a European Soccer Challenge with one inside. The only other extra I've seen inside a Lynx box is a small glossy card in the shape of a Lynx I, with a picture of the system playing California Games on one side, and (IIRC) a form to fill out to claim some of those pins/badges on the other side. That was in a Klax box, and the form was in French. The box also had the normal English Klax manual, and a rough photocopied French manual included. Did later copies of Klax have the manual with all languages? Incidently, does anyone know how many types of pins/badges were made? Some pictures of a collection would be nice to see.
  5. As far as I remember (been a while since I stuck this card in), you can only have one weapon at a time; you can't collect many different types, and pick and choose which one you want to use. On screen, the weapons all look the same, a yellow circle/oval, not to be mistaken for the coins which are slightly larger yellow circles/ovals. Picking up the weapon power-up just changes the way the weapon behaves, such as rapid-fire, circle, boomarang, etc, all behave as you would expect. If you get a weapon that you like to use, don't pick up a lesser weapon (depending on which weapons you prefer), as the last weapon picked up will be your new weapon. I also think that if you loose a skweek, you also default back to the most basic weapon (single-shot-in-the-direction-you-are-facing weapon). Hope this helps.
  6. Just wondering how many games there are for the Lynx which allow 2 players to play on the same Lynx, either at the same time, or by taking turns. I know of Qix and Ponx, but are there any others? If you know of any others, have you played them, and how do they play for 2 players?
  7. Still not working for me. I can login at the Singapore site (.com.sg), but can't see stuff I was watching. Their software looks like something from about 2 years ago with the main .com site. Well, maybe it has something to do with the displaying of ads, since two of you here mentioned something with ads, compounded with the shitty ISP we're with. Can't understand why the e-mail doesn't work though - maybe a similar protocol or something. The e-mail works through http with a MS Exchange server, so maybe they use similar stuff, that's not getting through the ISP. I don't know enough about this shit to know really, or what I'm trying to say, even! Anyway, thanks again for the input.
  8. I'm on dial-up, and it looks like it's going to load up, with the eBay ID in the title bar of the window, and various "connecting to eBay.com" in the status bar, but then it just stays like that, nothing appears on the page. I've even tried loading a page through a PayPal transaction, but still nothing. It's really pissing me off! I had a few auctions I was watching that are ending today, so it looks like I'm going to miss out. Since I can't check my e-mail either, I don't know if I've been outbid or lost, or won any I was already bidding on. Thanks anyway for the info.
  9. Thanks. Must be something weird with my PC, or provider. Don't understand it, I can't access my work e-mail through the internet either. Usually no problem. Thanks again for checking, much appreciated.
  10. Is anyone else having trouble accessing eBay? I've tried lots of domains, .com, .co.uk, .de, .au, etc, but can't get in anywhere. Been like that since yesterday evening (GMT). Everwhere else appears to be functioning as normally.
  11. Nice aquisition. Did you get them all from the same source? Good price? Chips Challenge is the only one that could be a ridged or flat (or curved lip). To be honest, I'd guess there are very few ridged or flat unopened (if any) left; you're probably looking at curved lips. There may be some differences in packaging between the 3 types (slightly different coloured inks, or maybe even a a printed number or date stamp, although these are often on the tabs, which are sealed inside), but you'd need someone with examples of all to know definitively what's inside without opening.
  12. I'd be interested in this too. The link to your pdf file seems to be broken. Would like to have a look. Do you have another link for the same file?
  13. I haven't tried NiMH batteries in a Lynx myself, but another poster claims he gets up to 8 hours per charge: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=52914 Could be right - they're pretty good in digital cameras and other high-drain devices. I personally wouldn't go back to NiCads in anything (except maybe in VCR/TV/DVD RC's, and they were for next to nothing in price) after using NiMH's.

    Xybots...

Any experts here on this game? What's the structure of the game? How many levels are there? I've recently only gotten this game, and have made it as far as the 9th stage/level, just before the first Master Xybot. Obviously, I don't want any spoilers, but how far does it progress from here? Does the difficulty increase much?
  15. Given the small size of the Lynx screen, I think the programmers did a fairly decent job packing it in the way they did, and the graphics are well done. It's a bit on the difficult side for me though, but there seems to be plenty of variety in play making for a fan of the sport to get into it, I think (I'm on the wrong side of the pond to appreciate it fully methinks). BTW, I notice there are no manual or box scans for this game - I have mint copies that can be scanned and sent if someone can tell me where to send and at what resolution to scan.

    The Pouch...

Thanks for the info - I figured you'd only get 3 or 4 into each of the two small pockets on the front. Yep, would like the larger case, just trying to find at the right price. Passed one up on eBay with a BIN of about £15 recently, kicking myself now. Will definately need something sometime soon - collection has grown from one card for the last 12 years, to 21 over the last month all on eBay. Should have been 22, but an empty envelope arrived today which should have contained a Toki card. A Royal Mail worker probably thought it was a credit card. Bummer!

    The Pouch...

Can anyone tell me how many game cards the pouch can hold. http://www.atariage.com/common/image.html?...gCase_Small.jpg The ad in the store here says it can hold 24 cards, but that looks like only if you don't have a Lynx in there too. How many cards can comfortably be held in each of the small pockets on the outside? Are there any more game card pockets inside?
