Sorry bad nomenclature. Radial or rotary are probably better. Single Pole Double Throw(google an image for this and it will be more clear) Here is 631 pages of rotary switches to narrow it down for you. http://www.mouser.com/Electromechanical/Switches/Rotary-Switches/_/N-5g2i

Those are likely not potentiometers, but axial type switches. Put a meter on them to find out. Its just mechanically different.

Probably just more robust RF shielding. They were very strict back then. If anything like a kids toy would ever interfere with the three big TV networks ability to advertise, that product would not make it to market.

Best Cartride Cleaning Solution: The Poll
Cobra Commander replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Ya, like pine or spruce. Douglas Fir is probably popular in your neck or the "woods" A chopstick may also work if its NOT bamboo. Balsa is probably not rigid enough to get a decent scrub, but could work on exposed contacts where a more perpendicular angle is possible. Like using a pencil.- 21 replies

Best Cartride Cleaning Solution: The Poll
Cobra Commander replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Another vote for friction, which is absent from the poll. I use a soft piece of wood, like a sim from the hardware store. I learned this in the US Navy soldering school, where they use what is called an Orange Stick. It's more of a polishing technique. I've used alcohol and contact cleaner in the past. I haven't spilled the wood yet or left the cap off for it to evaporate. I've been using this one for a couple years now.- 21 replies

Its kind of subjective. It start's getting price when one starts wanting CIB or NIB. Even then when compared to golf or camera gear or automotive hobbies its not close by miles. I think any peak was long ago. Maybe in the early to mid 2000's when there was just enough info out there to wet everyone's appetite, but not enough inventory. When "The Wild" meant something.

In the grand scheme of things Atari games are not worth a whole lot. Unless you're really broke or need the room. It sounds like you're getting the best value out of it right now. Enjoy and welcome.

There're all named Stella already.

My Amazing Find this weekend at my local flea market

This is why I've not given up on Flea markets. Thanks for sharing. -
I would own this console again for Sega Bass Fishing alone.

Worst price you've seen in person- with pics
Cobra Commander replied to toiletunes's topic in Atari 2600
One store near me has a 2600 Mario Bros. for $25. They even claimed they didn't have an Atari to test games on. Another similar store has a $15 Donkey Kong right next to a $5 Donkey Kong. They also do not actually have an Atari to test games on and want a Jaguar because "..it's the firs 64 bit system." I thought about taking pictures but wont waste my time on a return trip to either any time soon. -

Game supply / demand weirdness?
Cobra Commander replied to Major_Tom_coming_home's topic in Atari 2600
I think people are using the various market trackers in lieu of rarity guides. Rarity seems to be more of a marketing factor now. -
Oh. Cost effective. 7800 due to backwards compatibility.

I got a Jr with no hook-up's for $0.99 + $7.00 shipping once. Don't pay more than $50 for any of them IMO.

Glue to fix cartridge labels?
Cobra Commander replied to Major_Tom_coming_home's topic in Atari 2600
White school glue here as well. Spray adhesive seems a little excessive but if it works go for it. -

Depends on what $130 dollars is worth to you. -
My nes keeps blinking with new 72 pin
Cobra Commander replied to The007Squirtle's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Here's something I was working on several years ago. I never got around to making a case for it. I was thinking chrome toaster or Mario plush toy where one would jam the cart up the toy's ass in remembrance of the 72 pin connector. -

I use a piece of soft piece of wood like a wood shim from the hardware store. A very legit technique, the Navy teaches this in their soldering school to remove oxidation from circuit board pads. However they call it an orange stick. I call it a corndog stick. -

ALL 72 pin connectors are defective IMHO. Terrible design. I would disable the lockout chip. -
I don't wanna do anything when hungover.
