  1. I had use a few quickshot joysticks, both analog and digital before i bought the gravis pad. I really liked it for use with platform games. For flight games i used a quikshot analog joystick and later a thrustmaster topgun pro. For racing games i used a digital edge f1 sim compact. A nice steering wheel although the pedals where of lesser quality.
  2. Ah my bad, got confused with the mixed talking about the sepctravideo and the msx later in the thread.
  3. Cannot agree with that. There is enough exclusieve software for the system, also the system is the birthground of a lot of great games. Aleste Antarctic Adventure Penguin Adventure Athletic Land Bomberman The Castle Castle Excellent Daisenryaku Dragon Slayer IV: Drasle Family Eggerland Mystery (This game and its MSX sequel were the first two games in the Adventures of Lolo series) Golvellius The Goonies (Substantially different from the two NES games) Gradius 2 (Known as Nemesis II in Europe, unrelated to the arcade Gradius II) Gofer no Yabou: Episode II (Known as Nemesis III: The Eve of Destruction in Europe) Herzog Kings Knight King's Valley Knightmare Knightmare II: The Maze of Galious (the game that inspired La-Mulana) Knightmare III: Shalom The first two games in the Metal Gear franchise Metal Gear (before it was "ported" to the NES) Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Parodius (Yes, it started out on the MSX, not with the arcade game Parodius Da!.) Payload Princess Maker Puyo Puyo (Again, predating the more popular arcade game) Roller Ball Rune Master Snatcher SD Snatcher Space Manbow Uncharted Waters Undeadline Uşas Xevious: Fardraut Saga Yie Ar Kung Fu 2 Zanac Source http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/UsefulNotes/MSX?from=Main.MSX In the Netherlands MSX was pretty big, also due to the fact that Philips a Dutch based company jump onboard on the msx standard. I have 4 msx machines 1 philips vg8020 msx1, a philips vg8235 msx2 360kb floppy, a nms 8250 msx2 with detachable keyboard, and a nms 8245 msx2 model that i modded with a usn floppydisk emulator. Other msx machines that where available on the Dutch market and sold pretty well are the Sony Hit-bit msx computers. Also Toshiba can be found here. In Korea they made a console version of the msx1, called the zemmix. They had a few different versions.
  4. to bad i cannot come. anyways welcome in the netherlands. hope you enjoy the stay.
  5. Here is my current setup. Now playing comanche. But i'm also a fan of adventure games. The machine on top is my P100 32mb ram 1mb ark2000pv pci videocard, logitech soundman wave and gravis ultrasound max, 1.2 gb hdd 3.5" diskdrive and a zip 100mb and 8 speed cdrom. Bottom pc is a p233mmx with 64mb ram, a matrox g200 and 3dfx voodoo II 12mb. Opti soundcard. Hdd and cdrom i don't know size and speed. For flightsims i use a quickshot masterpilot so i don't have to memorize keyboard shortcuts.
  6. The odyssey2 can be modded with atari compatible joysticks very easy. I have 8 g7000 systems and only one has broken actionbuttons.
  7. Think on the mac cd-i dv was supported on os's before os X. read somewhere that after they started to use a 32bit mscdex in win 95, support for green book video was dropped. You should be able to run it on an old pc using xing mpeg player or a dedicated mpeg hardware card.
  8. The m2 is that a toploader or frontloader? To bad they never released it.
  9. The only vcd you don't want to buy is the hunt for red october. It's the worst possible version of any vcd movie. The compresion they used is so high most of the time you'll be looking at screens futuring less then sega cd video quality
  10. Have to play it someday, got the xbox version. I do like future tactics it's a nice game.
  11. Looks like it's extra hard to play because of the small black en white screen. Maybe it's looking better on a real screen. Must get myself a new 16k expansion. Mine is broken and with only 1kb not much can be done. Until now i only bought a c4cpc for my gx4000 and hopefully a cpc464 one day, and a floppydisk emulator for my msx.
  12. Titles that are only cd-i compatible are labeled "digital video on cd-i" Here is a list with cd-i only movies Black Rain (9/93) Coneheads The Firm (12/93) The Hunt For Red October (9/93) Indecent Proposal The Naked Gun 2 1/2 (9/93) Patriot Games (9/93) Posse Sliver Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (9/93) Top Gun (9/93) Wayne's World (2/94) White Christmas (9/93) The Addams Family (3/94)
  13. One of the biggest differences in the NES version is that Metal Gear isn't present to battle. Instead you have to blow up a super computer. After killing the guards it's easy to blow up, but in the MSX version you have to place charges in a specific order while being under continuing fire. Making it much harder to beat.
  14. There are new free releases so every now and then. Also wip files are up on the videopac.nl forum. And since i don't think a new batch of the c7060 is available the c7051 is now the only other option next to the 233-in-1.
  15. Also missing for the Odyssey2 the c7051 the succesor of the now discontinued c7050. The c7051 is a multicard with built in flashmemory, so you can add new games to the cart. The cart can hold up to 63 games, and included with the cart is a zip with 268 games. It's menu driven so no setting dipswitches to select a game. Can be order by Rene_g7400 on the videopac.nl forum http://videopac.nl/forum/index.php?topic=2492.0
  16. Somebody at cpcwiki forum is printing cartridgeshells for the c4cpc, here is the thread: http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/
  17. Seems to mee a nice system, but i don't own one and never played one, since they weren't official release in my country. As for loose hucards, you can store them in those basebalcard holders.
  18. Been to 3 fleamarkets today and found some nice stuff. 5 years of power unlimited magazines. This is a Dutch magazine i bought a few times back then. Nice thing is this is from 1994 to 2000 so it has a lot of info on those old pc stuff, sega, nintendo, 3do, cd-i. Also found 3 cd-i titles. De zaak van Sam, Titanic an interactive exploration and Dominos. Bart Simpon's escape from camp deadly. And 2 boxed pc games: star wars x-wing vs tie fighter the academy expansion and hunter hunted. Also found a nice joystick for the nes. A quickjoy ni-4 with autofire.
  19. Made a box for my c4cpc, using an old dvd shell. Once i get a cartridge shell, makes switching the gx4000 on a bit easier since the dustcover is now blokking the powerswitch, i will need a bigger box. But for now i think it's great. Uses some artwork from here and from gx4000.co.uk.
  20. Cannot choose, i like all my consoles, even if they only have one game to play. I love them for different reasons.
  21. I have a not working commodore pc10-III, need to see if i can fix it. I also have a p100, with a gus and a nice videocard, and a p233 mmx, with a 12mb monster and a matrox g200. Love old pc's.

  23. Recieved my c4cpc today, and it's everything i need for my gx4000. Finally i can play more games then only Burnin' Rubber. I say it's a must have cartridge if you own or going to buy a gx4000.
  24. The 233 in 1 is now sold by Packrat: http://www.packratvg.com/o2multi.html
