I like the 5200's Carts Becuase they have cool lable art and are large so they feel very substantial when you hold one. I only have one cart and no system but i keep it because it looks cool even if it is a Pacman Cheers

@KaineMaxwell, they came out a couple of months before doom3, i got mine at the Evil best buy store. i Also messed up on the names, the names they are as follows: 1 Doom CE 2 Doom II CE 3 Final Doom CE 4 Doom Builder (not part of the cd, but worth mentioning, great windows based doom wad Editor.) i am just happy since before Doom3 came,Id made a Nice Modern version of Doom ,Doomii ,Doom CE , Doom Final Doom for a whole $9.95. so i don't have to boot to Dos to play the those and it even supports custom wads, now that is big bonus in my book. Wish apogee would do that with some or thier games like moster Bash seris or Secret Agent seris i would definatly buy those for like 9.95 as well but probably won't happen Cheers

yeah, I got smart one day and backed up all of mine to a CD/R since i knew the original floppies would someday fail and a few of them did not make it sadly my full version of monster bash is no more as well as my full copy of Bards Tale I and a few others. But the other 60 or so survived lucky for me. Cheers

I miss being able to get a 3 level shareware game for $5.00, i used to love the fact i could go to a compter store or even a dillions grocery store and get these kinds of games. shoot i even miss the old BBS that they had setup at Apogee and Id where you could download a trial game and those colorful Ascii catalogs advertising the new games that had coming out. Anyone else miss these or are you glad they are gone ? just Curious. Cheers

Mine was FRT on 3 letter machines and FART on multiletter machines like Donkey kong and such. Not very original but hardly ever used when i was a kid in our local arcade when we still had one that is. Cheers

here are some pictures of the box and contents, but since i used a cheap flatbed color scanner the All that can be seen of the card is the metal shielding around the Rf Circuits but i assure you the card is in perfect condition no dust or anything like that.

i will post some screen shots, later just as soon as i can get a camera. ATI TV Tuner card has cable coax in and Compsite video in has software original and original box manuals ect. used not new but tested and working. i may have a buyer - icecold, might be interested i am waiting to see. price: $18.00 Shipping: i will pay that Nes looks good on a monitor, so i imagine atari would too or any atari home computer that use's a tv for it's monitor. robotron 2084,battle zone,stun runner and last but not least star wars all of which would make me just a little unhappy but i kept going back week after week for more punishment from the no-armed bandits. Ahh those where fun times, i wish "real" arcades would come back in style where you played for a .25 and not .50 to 1.50 a game ! Cheers

well here in Olathe Kansas we have the following: Chuck.E.Cheese --Mrs Pacman/Galaga Combo machine (very Short cab) Tasty Treat --Mrs Pacman lucy's laundry --Space Zap! and Xevious and an Adams Family Pinball and that is literaly all of the Machines left in town. Cheers

well you can get a combo mobo pretty cheap, but get a reguar video card of at least 16 mb preferaby 32 megs i use an ATI 7000 Excalibur 64 Meg 350 MHZ Ram Dac for mine and i got it for about $20.00 new. and i can run most mame games up to about 92 or so but all the games i have range from the 1977 era to 1984 (yeah i live in the past:) ). the combo borad i got cost $45.00 used /256 megs of ram Cpu is a AMD Duron Authentic 1.2 GHZ. All of this was Aquired at my City's MicroCenter ( I live in Olathe, Kansas) So for about 65.00 plus tax and a copy of Dos 5.0 - 6.21 you can build a nice dedicated system. Cheers

well here is another gif image of an alternate station and i think this one is gonna be the one i use unless i come up with better one. it is basicly a couple of diffrent things i have seen in an old Sci-fi movie and the refueling station from Activision's Classic Hit title "Star Master" one of my favs for the 2600 system. well Back to Coding have a great day guys and thanks for all the input and help. mine is on the PC, it is being made with Game Maker 5.3A, i know this is not "real" programming but it is the only tool i have found that i can understand and has a form Coding, the only other alternative i had open to me is Qbasic 7.1 PDS but that would be to slow without Assembly routines and stuff like that but since i cannot understand Assembly and will never be able to understand it due to a learning problem i have with mathematics (i only know basic math) plus it is confusing too. BTW Do you plan to finish your Program ?, i think you should becuase it sounds like it basicly done now, and besides i would play it and it would make a nice addition to my small Mame Library of games (mostly 76 - 84) Cheers

well i only knew of cosmic ark, but now i know of the one Dav has and it looks great !, and yeah i know it don't look too good now but it is hard to come up with a graphic that is original and still has the "Old Arcade" look and feel to it, i am still experimenting with ideas but so far the gif above is the best i can come up with for an alternate look. but i will think of somthing eventually Cheers

well here is a rough idea of the new graphic for the main base. it will be better looking than this once i clean up the lines and colors a bit so what do you think ?. Anyway i can post more as soon as i finish the graphics and put them in the code, i should have working demo pretty soon if you would like to see it as the game progress in the work phase as i would like any input as to how it could be improved. well i have not gotten an email reply yet, so from what i understand as long as i Change the graphics a bit and the title i can still make and distribute this as a freeware fan game ?. then that is what i will do, now i just have to think of a new name and design some new graphics. Anyone got any Ideas for a good name that is not already in use ? I really appreciate all the good info you guys have given me on this most people could care less about remakes as they are just old news and not really worth worrying about. Cheers

no have not played Space Fortress is it available in Mame ? and yeah i shot myself in the foot there on that one but i figured it is better to get permission rather than just do it and have to pay a big fine or somthing like that. but who knows they may say "Sure, who in thier right mind would play that garbage ?." and if they do then yay but i do not know if they will even reply to my Email at all if they do i will post it Either way.
