Original power supply is 9v, but theres a widget in the first stage of the Atari that actually reduces any charge put into it to 5v. Anything above 7 is apparently fine

what ataris are you using? I find that the smaller jr. models give a better picture on new tv's. failing that, if you're feeling a bit handy with a soldering iron, you can convert your atari to run on composite. A good set of guides for this are on:- atari portables site

My rarest system is an all-black jr. (no silver strip). it looks great. Not too many 'darth vaders' (i hate that term) here, don't really want one though, they're a kind of uncomfortable pupal stage between the woody and the jr.

I've just got hold of a 2600jr (the all-black Irish model) and, on testing it, I noticed it had a MUCH better picture than my original woody VCS, is my old vcs just nackered or is there another hardware reason for this?

Well, I've got a smattering of games on non-atari platforms (a large amount of Promos for Playstation as I used to sell em) but, on my favourite 2600,.... 30 all together now - Aaaahhh.

Just saw on an auction site, that all nations Intellivision carts are interchangeable ie. PAL/NTSC doesnt matter at the cart stage. Is this true?? I certainly don't see anything about PAL on any of my Intelli carts or boxes.

In the UK we got the same as US, except, of course, the game in PAL.

Wow! I can't believe this thread is still going. hehe. Anyway, I've had a chat with the Queen and we're getting a ship together to come over and hunt for the patch of land with those carts in - and we'll claim it for the British Empire. Anyone want to start a colony on it with us?

Well, dependswhat you mean by computer, Mr Babbages creation was called a difference engine, it didnt use electricity but it calculated as a computer does, and it pre-empted all the rest of that stuff

I have Space Spartans. its pretty good (speech is good) but theres too much hanging around crippled while your ship repairs. Solar Sailer is my favourite game so far. I can't get on with Auto Racing at all. But then I hated Super Sprint as well Yeah, keep em coming - this is good

Sorry, this one's a bit self indulgent. Just got my first ever Intellivision (I've never seen or played one before) I've got the master component (what a great name ) and the intellivoice unit. The speech in Tron - Solar Sailer is totally mindblowing - there's emotion there!! Those controllers are a bit odd though aren't they. Not half as bad as everyone's been saying, but I wouldn't want to change direction with em in a hurry. Atari VCS still rules though Anyway, what games should I get for my new teak wonder?
