  1. When I showed my copy of SInistar to my wife, she looked at it, noticed the label, and said something like "Wow, that looks real" or mayeb "that really lloks professional" or something like that. I think the label looked outstanding, and clearly good enough to be 'real'.

Aw, hey. Thank your wife from me :) I hope Albert doesn't mind me admitting this but he emailed me and said "We need a label for Sinistar 5200 today" so I had about 2 and a half hours to do it. Painted like a demented thing :D

  2. I really hate the 'collectible' aspect of shooters. It's only served to keep a great deal of incredible games out of most people's reach. I'm all for downloads, however, this collection isn't tempting me. Seems a bit expensive for doujin games.

I just want to be able to download DoDonPachi, ESPdaré and Radiant Silvergun.

  3. Hallo all. I'm David Exton, part time label artist for AtariAge and, well, I'm having a clearout - small house - too much stuff!

So, I've been lucky enough to have worked on several brilliant AA homebrew games and I've got a few low number limited copies of the games I worked on for my trouble.

However, much as I love them, I'm going to be letting some go.

SO, eBay sucks so, if it's not too tacky, I'll post them here. No idea what to price them at - make me an offer and I'll sell to the highest bidder on, shall we say, Sunday 13th June? Give's everyone interested a week.

Any questions, bids, concerns - feel free to PM me. All games have been stored very nicely in a non smoking environment. Oh, payment by Paypal if that's OK.

Postage wise, I'll just charge exactly what it costs to ship to whatever country you're in (I'm in UK although all these games are NTSC) but it'll be fairly low. I can give you a better quote if you need one. Cheers!

Adventure II - Limited Edition #4 of 250

Mint, never played (no 5200s here!) limited copy of Adventure II - Atari 5200 NTSC.

Complete with cart (obviously), magnets, key and all the bits I did: Manual, Map hint cards with envelope and related flyers/bits. Lovely package but I'm never going to be able to play it so here it is :)

Holiday Qb - Limited 2004 Holiday Cart. #74

Yeah, the Holiday Cart labels are my fault! (sorry about the 2003 - but saucy!). Mint Atari 2600 NTSC cart with manual/AA Xmas card.

UA Games - Pleiades, Cat Trax, Funky Fish

My first boxes! All three mint with cart and manual. Atari 2600 NTSC

Euchre - Special Edition #5/100 - Hozer release

    th_P1000214.jpg

Mint NTSC Atari 2600 cart. As a Hozer release, nowhere near as professionally presented as an AA game but still quite nice. The wife posed for the label painting - and it was paint, don't use that stuff anymore!

That's it for now. I should have one or two more to add once I've got them photographed - not least the Qb limited edition in the fancy wooden box! Watch this space, folks!

  4. I don't really have a problem with buying new games. I hate the scummy trade in used stuff that's rife in games stores. In UK, it's tricky to find new games in some stores. When I'm interested in a game enough to buy it, I want the developers well rewarded. Period.

This EA thing is a bit limiting to used game buyers but heck, it's better than Phantasy Star Online was - you couldn't even go online at any price with a used copy of that.

  5. Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone knows what font is used in the 5200 manuals (the Atari games) in the main body text. I've got all the header fonts (which are available at this very site) but I can't seem to figure out this last one.

    cheers!

  6. I've read all through this thread and there's one thing that stands out - NO ONE is actually running Linux on their PS3.

I did consider it early on, mainly for emulator as a way to replace my modded XBox. But, after hearing that it didn't run particularly well or fast, I ditched the idea. I suspect many others did too.

The only reason I bring this up is that I've never talked to anyone who actually used this function. And, given that it's been sitting there unused for 3 years, it's surplus to requirements anyway.

  7. The games are hellishly expensive, aren't they? Combat should not cost that much.

Wah, I just want my Robotron!

The Robotron on XBLA had stupid 'upgraded' graphics (ie. worse). I just want Robotron perfectly emulated, then my 360 will truly replace my original nodded xbox.

  8. Nice enough idea, but I only want the one game - Robotron - and it's not available yet.

Still, I was very impressed with the vector gfx emulation in Asteroids Deluxe. Very convincing.

  9. Living, as I do, in a small house in England (where space is premium) there's no way this is going to work for me. In any case, I'd rather games advance in storytelling, AI and other forms of immersion than this wavy-arms control method that will feel just as fake as a controller.

  10. It's sitting on the shelf staring at me, waiting for me to finish Mass Effect 2 for the second time, followed by Tales of Monkey Island and the forthcoming Sam and Max series 3.

Great game, but I never find the time to play it - and it's way too frenetic for 'wind down' gaming. Soon I will tame it. Soon!
