What happened to that "new Mario Bros (arcade) for the Atari 2600??

It's only mid-February, and I've already Garfielded out more Artie the Atari strips than all of 2021.

Is there such a thing as a multi game mame board? Something that I can build a cabinet around and simply plug into a monitor and controllers? I googled but I'm unsure of what I'm finding...

Been watching some Olympic short track skating the past few days. Exciting sport ruined by biased judging and naughtiness of Chinese so called “Olympians”. The men’s 1500m finals (lacking any Chinese athletes) were really exciting, though. Hooray to all athletes who had to put up with China’s bullshit and still performed fantastically.

Popped off all my keycaps and gave my keyboard a deep cleaning... so much better now!!

After at least 15 years I had to retire my old reliable Brother MFC-4800 B&W laser printer. That thing was a tank. Longest-lasting, most reliable printer I've ever had by far.

------ Joke of the Day ------
Americans can't switch from
pounds to kilograms overnight.
That would cause mass confusion.

I know this is a joke, but I've thought about this recently. I think the thing that would shift us the fastest would be if they started listing your height and weight on official documents in metric from childhood. I can do a lot of the conversions in my head, but if someone asks me how many centimeters tall I am, I go blank. Put it on my driver's license and then report all pro athletes ht and wt in metric and we are on our way.

100% done Skyrim at 150 hours. That game was life changing. Ruined sooo many games for me by being so good. I'll never play a 3D Zelda again i can tell you that much.

@Stephen - He probably had to reload a lot because of all the quest-breaking bugs

Finally got through my post-30+ year playthrough of Zelda 2. Only 2 games/1 retry. (Don't ask how many savestates...)

Now deciding what's next. Metroid, SM2/3? Do I dare even try Ninja Gaiden, which I never managed to beat the final boss back then because the 2nd to last was so awful?

Finished Secret of the Silver Blades! My lifelong quest to complete all three original Gold Box games is now complete. I took a side quest to do Gateway to the Savage Frontier as well. As much as I like the games and the engine, I think don't think I'll return for a long time. Bucket list item checked off!

What is your least favorite specific game genre? After a lot of thought mine is probably puzzle platformers.

Just modded a PS2 for my son's house. It is amazing how much you forget when you don't do it all the time! So easy yet I couldn't get my head around everything without a guide again.

I hanker for a hunka cheese!!

Even when it was new, it kinda made you wonder why they were pushing cheese on us like that. Here's the vid for those who weren't around:

Wing Commander IV is hard as heck. It took me a few tries at the first and second missions, and I still haven't beaten the 3rd.

How am I supposed to be able to finish working this afternoon, after I just got a message that a friend (and low volume AA member) has passed away?
-
I'm sorry for your loss @carlsson. My advice: Work will be there on Monday. Do as little as you can and just punch out early.

Never knew Pat the NES Punk lives in filth in HOARDER CITY!! And the Metal Jesus Basement SCAM? Huh?
-
I watched a small handfull of vids because of this post. I consider Pat and Metal J entertaining and that is how I treat them. They are essentially two of the biggest "stars" that Retro-Gaming has ever had. If they were to somehow lose their status then someone else would just take their place and get the views, subscribes, and Patreons. At this point being on Youtube is a job, and I'm not going to tell any "entertainer" how much money they should make from their job. Their job is to convince you to keep watching - your role is to NOT pay/watch them if you don't think they are entertaining.
As for if Metal J pushes the Patreon too much or could have afforded to repair his basement without help then I would say - the next time you get told by a random stranger that you already make enough money what will your reaction be? Do you think your life would be a little easier with a few more $$ each month? Is that bad?
And is Pat a slob? He looked like a regular person with average amounts of space trying to fit too much retro gaming stuff into his life. Definitely not in "hoarder" territory. I'm not going to judge him for that or for being a douche.

Decided to play Breath of the Wild for a bit. It’s my first time playing through this game, and ran into a Lynel atop a mountain near Zora’s Domain. I only had equipment I had stolen from a horde of Lizalfos on my trek to Zora’s Domain. I had three hearts. It was one hell of a fight, but I killed the thing eventually. Feel like a legend now.

I just learned that between 2012-2016, Sweden was ranked #30 in baseball which isn't particularly high, but better than the current rank at #72.
-
"Baseball was open only to male amateurs in 1992 and 1996. As a result, the Americans and other nations where professional baseball is developed relied on collegiate players, while Cubans used their most experienced veterans, who technically were considered amateurs as they nominally held other jobs, but in fact trained full-time. In 2000, pros were admitted, but the MLB refused to release its players in 2000, 2004, and 2008, and the situation changed only a little: the Cubans still used their best players, while the Americans started using minor leaguers. The IOC cited the absence of the best players as the main reason for baseball being dropped from the Olympic program."

The problem for Baseball is that the season always overlaps with the Summer Olympics, so the best players can never come and play. Typically, the roster is made up of minor league and college players. They invented the World Baseball Classic to work around this problem and actually have the countries of the world come together and compete with their most talented athletes. However, the WBC hasn't really been a massive success and has come around at a time when Baseball is declining as a sport in the USA.
