  1. In case someone finds this topic in the future, I'll link this thread which is helpful: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/169018-replacement-controller-ideas/ I may contact some of the posters in that thread directly
  2. dig Anything ever come out of this discussion?
  3. I'm wondering if there are clever controller hacks or mods for the stock Inty controller. I happen to have a Super Video Arcade, so my controllers are detachable. Can I improve the button press 'action' somehow? Is there a controller coupler or splitter that I can use to hook up an alternate controller? Can I build a splitter by just finding the pinout and then wire U D L R Fire directly to a DB9 port? I'll add that I know about the Stickler.
  4. If you end up wanting to sell, you will find a buyer in the Marketplace. Save the box.
  5. Here is one: http://electronicsentimentalities.com/index.html You will find more if you look around. If you haven't already, post a request in the Marketplace and someone will likely respond.
  6. Thanks for the link to your list
  7. A few hours left. http://www.gamegavel.com/item.cgi?show_item=0000568042 I'm the highest bidder, and I don't really have my heart set on this. The price is low, so if you want this item then you should take a look.
  8. Tested and working system at GameGavel: http://www.gamegavel.com/item.cgi?show_item=0000568058 I'm the highest bidder, but I was mostly bidding cause I like Mike and want his site to succeed. If someone outbid me, I wouldn't cry.
  9. I'm raising this thread from the grave because I have the same question as the original poster and I'm in roughly the same stage of my Coleco collecting as he was. Are there still homebrews 'out there' with now way to pay for or acquire the ROM? Can someone point me to some threads and links that can help me organize the homebrew scene a bit? I've found: http://www.colecovision.dk/index.htm <- actually there is quite a bit here http://www.gooddealgames.com/inventory/Colecovision.html <- is this the main site to buy homebrews? http://www.collectorvision.com/index.htm <-this is the friendly site of one of the main contributors to these forums So what are the differences in these 3? Are there any others I should know about? Have any offered a "Pay to Play the ROM" option? I am not looking for anything for free here. I just was hoping for a bit of a guided tour.
  10. I haven't really done much digging around on this topic, so forgive me if this information is easy to find, but how hard is it to mod the CV for composite out? Are there instructions readily available? This may already exist but maybe you could put up some very detailed walkthroughs for the A/V mod and the #1 repair that you do, so that others can just follow instructions and carry on your work themselves.
  11. 30 bux (including shipping). Not bad. I'm tempted. Hey bobotech, did you buy the $30 one?
  12. Thanks for bumping - whats the story? Did he just produce more of them? Also, website says "Pre-Order Pricing Extended Until 11/30/2011" I guess the regular price is higher? Forgive me, I just got started in the Coleco-zone. Yurkie, are you the maker of the SD Cartridge?
  13. I tested them all and that one was instantly fun. I'll have to check out the manual to make sure I know what's going on.
  14. Are the controllers on the Intellivision II also DB9? Are they interchangeable? My plan is to save up for Cuttle Cart 3. Has anyone ever just printed up a bunch of overlays and offered them for sale?
  15. I'm not familiar enough to be able to tell. Its a red label and when I start the game (it works btw) there is a green screen. It says TSR - 1982 and on one line is written: DUNGEADVANCEDAGONS Here is a pic of the unit working. My first ever Astrosmash on its native platform. As you can see, it came with the plastic games case/stand. The lines at the top of the screen are from my crappy old tv.
  16. It did NOT include Intellivoice. The games were loose and did not have overlays: 2600 ESB, Astrosmash, Auto Racing, Baseball, AD&D, NFL Football, Poker & BlackJack, Space Armada, Space Battle, Tron Deadly Discs, Tron Maze-A-Tron $30 for the whole lot. I just finished cleaning the carts and they weren't really very dirty. Someone had likely cleaned them at least once in the last 20 years. Will edit this post after I do a complete test.
  17. Seems like the detachable controllers are an advantage. Are the controllers on the Intellivision II also DB9? Are they interchangeable? I got it and I'm cleaning up the games that it came with right now. The guy threw in a 2600 Empire Strikes Back for free which I was admiring. He also had a 2600 Kool Aid Man and 2600 Time Pilot. If someone wants to contact him about those, I will PM you his email address. We are in the Dallas area.
  18. I disconnected my cart mod wires from pads 13-24 and the screen was still jumbled up like in the picture. I then disconnected 1-12 and the flashback works again. I guess I had some problem with my soldering technique or maybe there is a bad pin on the edge connector or something.
  19. Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I'm going to look at a Super Video Arcade. Is it any different from a regular Intellivision? What should I look for when inspecting it? Thanks for any help you can provide.
  20. Is Ebay the best place to get one? Anyone on this site who is actively selling them? Is there a place like Best Electronics for Intellivision that has surplus Intellivision stuff? Other stuff -- Is there a USB controller that is a good substitute for the original? I know there are adapters, but is there anyone that offers just the controller + adapter?
  21. I have a thread on this in the Flashback forums that is ongoing - I'm talking to myself in there. . . . Over here I wanted to find out if anyone could point me in a direction for troubleshooting a jumbled screen like this: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=224321 My flashback has a cart mod installed that has never worked. The picture is of the flashback menu which did work before I started the mod. Switched to the cart, the screen is also similarly jumbled, but with different colors. I can take a pic of that if someone is interested. What do you think could cause a display like the one in the picture? I'll say that while doing the mod, the AV wires became disconnected from their "sub board." This was annoying because while they were partially connected I was testing the display thinking that my work was bad. Anyway, I stripped and resoldered the AV wires to this "sub board" but when I test the connections from the tips of the AV cable that plugs into the TV to the end connection on the bard I get something like 2 ohm resistance. That is still really low, but I'm wondering if it could be causing my problem. When I test a regular set of RCA cables not associated with this mod at all there is less than 1 ohm resistance from end to end. I don't think that I've damaged the onboard ROM, that seems unlikely, but I guess its possible. I would think that if I Damaged the "Michelle" chip, I would get nothing at all. Also, both of these chips are sealed under high grade epoxy (er something). I think there must be an explanation to whats happened here that I should be able to figure out. I just was wondering if you could point me in any directions to begin testing resistors or power or something else specific that you think could jumble things up like that. If I can't figure anything else out, my next step is to completely remove all my connections for the cart mod and test again. Basic t'shooting to just undo what I did and go back to the last state I tested successfully.
  22. This is a fascinating and important contribution to the classic gaming community. I didn't see an option to donate, but you should put one on your website.
  23. So it looks like that, then you select a game that works with the joystick and it fixes? I guess the menus work for you?
  24. I have a jumbled screen problem after my cart mod. Does your jumbled screen look like this: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=224321
