So the word "speeded" was on the front page of the newspaper today. I questioned its validity as a word, but as it turns out, it is a word. "Sped" can also be used.

This comic strip of Garfield spooks me even to this day. It was done for 6 days as a Halloween special. It shares the inevitability of the process of time and grappling with loneliness. Two that I fear the most. https://www.mezzacotta.net/garfield/?comic=1250

Is it just the people around me or do non-retro video game/computer people not understand how popular retro electronics stuff is?

I feel dirty asking, but does anyone have experience with BestBuy's "iBuyPower" $999 gaming PC, or equivalents? They seem like a good deal, but hard to know, I've been out of that world so long. I used to build my PCs, no interest in that anymore. I"m looking for a $1000 or less all-in-one desktop to play games from this century, and ideally won't have to replace major and expensive components for a while.

If Yahoo mail senses an adblocker it will freeze all action unless you turn it off or pay for an ad-less address. Stupid &*^&^&*^s! How is that even possible to do?!

This might be the best game I've ever bought on a whim. I've been playing every night for over a week.

Now that I have the MiSTer connected to a CRT I figured I'd try the SNAC with some light guns. Zapper, Light Phaser and Justifier tested...all 100% functional! Simply awesome.

My mom passed away this morning. She was not only my mom, but a friend.

Radar-Lock for the Atari 2600: really impressed as to how it plays on the EverCade handheld. Smooth, tight and fluid action, very impressive for a 1.st gen console.(even though its late release)

Friday party with friends.
-"Shall we play some retro games?"
-"Sure, but nothing that takes more than 2 min to play."
Me: *rolling eyes*

Pretty much the entire workforce of a local chicken processing factory has tested positive for Covid. Time to disinfect all the chicken I have in the freezer.

Anybody else use Money Orders as a form of a payment? I still like to use them.

This Atari Classic has a rotary paddle for a controller and shares a name with [a play from] Shakespeare.

My status: Anxiety about ordering from eBay. Anyone else have that, or should I not worry?

so, my mother (without talking about it with the household mind you.), voluntarily transferred herself (she's a nurse) to a nursing home that's going to be a quarantine for all kinds of people (including people with [REDACTED]). This wouldn't be a big problem, but the place she was originally working at was taking proper precautions against [REDACTED] and wasn't a quarantine.
I'm probably overreacting, but it still pisses me off.

Did any other Rock bands follow the Heart model, which was hard rock in the 70s, the successfully transition to light songs in the 80s?
