In great condition and I've personally tested it and works. Drop me a PM if you're interested in making a deal. Comes with: -Black Sleeve -CF Reader -CF Card Thanks.

Pretty sure it was just Europe-only. Atari Inc. quickly caught on to phase out the two models that were below 520ST, specs-wise, due to TOS taking up too much space in the RAM with the weaker units once it loaded.

Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.

Proof the land-fill theory is true, so you all can quit your bitching (lol). -
Not a bad find at all, for its coming with a comic book, original box, and the case's being in decent shape. Whenever I want more Atari games, I usually just head over to Game-X-Change and buy a five-pack of games (they'll let you sort out which ones you wish to buy) for a buck a piece minus tax; even though they don't have any books or boxes, they do come shrink-wrapped. Anyway, I'm not one to call something like this BS as it is entirely possible of happening. Wish I could find some of those in that condition here, though. I always keep the boxes IF the games come with them... which isn't really an option for the very old stuff like Atari, unless one's lucky.

Warlords. Most enjoyable Atari 2600 game around, IMO. Then, later, there was also Asteroids, Adventure, and Pong.

I Am Now The Proud Owner Of An Atari 2600! ^_^

Why I asked which model was more rare is because... Well, this is what I did. I swapped in the old, defective Atari 2600 for a working 2600A. So far, I haven't had any problems with it. The wood-frame on the front is a little dinged up, and the pin-sliders where the cartridge is located is a bit grimy when you try to slide it, but other than that, it's in pretty good condition. Thanks again for all the help you provided... -

Hey guys, which is more rare: An Atari 2600 or Atari 2600A? -

All right, I FINALLY determined what the problem that started this whole ordeal in the first place. It is actually the UNIT which isn't working properly, NOT the JOYSTICK. So, what I need now is a method of some sort to fix the problem. My Atari 2600 Left Joystick Port cannot read the port's 6th pin. There must be something faulty about that pin, since it is the pin that reads the fire-button. However, what ultimately made me find out the problem was that I tried the RIGHT PORT, to test the joysticks in order to see if they were the problem! Well, THEY WERE NOT!! They played superbly! So, if anyone could find a link or just give an expalanation on how to fix a crappy pin, that would be greeeaaat, thaaanks. -

All I want to know, is if an Atari 2600 can recognize a joystick's stick-part, a paddle, button and scroll-thing altogether, but NOT a joystick's button. Because if it's my unit, then I don't want to waste time searching for joysticks, IF this is a possibility. However, if I've just coincidentally found 4 joysticks that have had faulty, unresponsive buttons, then I suppose I WILL have to look for some new ones. I tried AtariAge's store, but they don't have any for sale. My next step would be to try eBay, even though I dislike the bidding-system, or a store here locally... -Cheers, Brad -

Erm... I meant Joy-Sticks... -
A Sega Genesis/CD Mark 1 console would probably run you around $30 used. BTW, gdement, isn't there an eject-button on the CD add-on?

Favorite Mortal Kombat Game?
BuzzTron451 replied to NintendoDieScreaming's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Genesis version of Mortal Kombat Ultimate. Not only did it have a whopping cast of MK characters in traditional MK style, but it also had an unlockable game, Galaga! Plus, Shao Kahn and that horse guy were pretty damn cool bosses. But eh, there's better Fighting games out there that I've played. -
Nothing that a quick import couldn't fix! ;D

Too bad it wasn't the TV that got damaged instead of the 7800...there'll always be TV's around, but an officially-made 7800's has actual collecting values. Oh well, it sucks to be you, I guess one could say... =(

Metroid Prime 2 $19.99 at EBGames.com
BuzzTron451 replied to Dones's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
I have played it, but only a tad bit of it at a game-store. It gave me a general idea on what the gameplay was like, and an idea of the story. Why should I buy a game if I'm not interested in it? I was simply stating my two cents on why one should or shouldn't get the game, and why I haven't bought it yet. I may change my opinion whenever I get a chance to play it (most likely from a rental, which is all it seems to be worth), but I doubt that. Didn't like Halo 2 because it was the same, if not worse, than Halo 1, and the same applies to this game. Sequels are rarely better than the original, and besides, it's just the same old, same old...only with a fresh coat of paint. Save yourself some cash, and just keep playing MP1... -
Err... sorry, I'll try to consolidate them into one post next time, 'k? >.>
-
Yeah, let us see what you got, man! =D

I don't know if I'd like doing that -- buying something that you don't know? If it were for a cheap price, then I'd say "go for it!" But otherwise, I probably wouldn't do it. I know a surprise is nice every so often and surprising, too, but on this kind of occasion, I like to know what I'm getting in advance before I shell out the dough... ... Then again, I could always just resell the ones I may have duplicated buying...
-
Yeah, I don't know if that happened just by chance or if they knew the ports were the exact same thing. Although the latter logic seems odd; I wouldn't understand Sega making controller ports just like the Atari 2600/7800's...
-
That's probably the same reason Nintendo opted with Cartridges instead of the much-preferred by developers CD's for the N64, so lil' kiddies wouldn't scratch up CD's.

If you love that game, you should get the DS adaptation. Puzzlers are fun as hell on that system.

Maybe because of the fact that you haven't played any good RPGs...BTW, those aren't even RPGs...they're sidescrolling and adventure at the most! If you own a PS2, then try Kingdom Hearts, XenoSaga, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy 7-XI, etc. I'm sure those games will have you converted into an RPG lover in a heart-beat. That aside, no worries there, then. The GCN only has two honorable RPG's for the system (Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaidos). So if you TRULY dislike RPGs, the GCN is more *platform and adventure* friendly, so if you like those type of games, then I suggest you get a GCN. Otherwise, just invest your money elsewhere. There aren't much upcoming games for that GCN that are stellar, bar Zelda: Twilight Princess and Fire Emblem, so what you see is what you get for the GCN, currently.

Nor can I. The part of the game that's really got me excited is its multiplayer.

Metroid Prime 2 $19.99 at EBGames.com
BuzzTron451 replied to Dones's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Then again, is it really that much different than Metroid Prime 1? Basically, from what I hear about the story, you just have a different scenario, along with two parrarel deminsions in which you play the game through.* To me, that's not enough of an alteration of the first's story to purchase it. I've beated MP1, but alas, I just don't have the need to play through something that seems so remotely similar. However, one thing that does actually seem intriguing is the fact that it has multiplayer, and the graphics are *slightly* better. Still, though, there isn't much going for the game that makes it any better than the original, besides that, and, from what I have heard, there are better multiplayer FPS'ers out there...plus, the new Metroid Prime Hunters is drawing ever so nearer, which seems to be a fantastic multiplayer MP, if that's what I want. At least it has online-multiplay, even though I won't be able to utilize it, from the looks of things. I played a bit of it at my local store, and the game-play in MP2 is virtually the same as MP1. Not much has changed in that department. Sound, too, is pretty much the same. That's why there isn't much of a difference for me. The gameplay, story, and sound is practically the same, meaning that it isn't something that I would rush out and buy for, especially after clocking in over 100 hours of MP1 time.* Regardless, this is still a great offer, so I think that anyone whom liked the first game would definetly love this installement, from the mediocre story-line to the multiplayer aspect... I would rate them: Metroid Prime 1 = 9.2 - Fantastic story and graphics for its time. Metroid Prime 2 = 8.4 - It would get a 7.6 if it were not for the multiplayer. *Then again, I'm probably asking for too much, due to the fact that Metroid 1, 2, and 3's story and gameplay were literally the same in each installement.
