Spitfire Attack. An impressive '3D perspective' 2600 game. Once getting used to the controls (classic airplane 'flight-stick' type control, so push up to dive, pull down to climb), I think it's a solid and fun aerial-dogfight game.
I hope you are playing this the proper way, with the Flight Commander controller.

If you consider Tanks But No Tanks/Tank Brigade a maze shooter, what about Thunderground?
There are no non-traversible walls like in Tanks But No Tanks, but it is similar.

Well I ended up picking all those Color Computers up. I went in a couple of weeks ago and they had a new game stuck in one of the cartridge slots; Dungeons of Daggorath. I also saw a Plug 'n Power Programmable Controller sitting somewhere else. I offered $80 for everything and they took it.
I was able to get the 26-3001 model working. I tested Dungeons of Daggorath, which worked, and the cartridge without a label. It was Personal Finance. I also tested the Multi-Pak and at least slots 1 through 3 work. I could not get the other two units working, one was model 26-3002A, which I could not find much information about. I did not know how to go about testing the Touch Pad or the Plug 'n Power.
I also have three cables which may or may not belong to these. I have Super Pitfall somewhere around here, I could find it and test it out too.

Is this in the console flashback compilations?
EDIT: Hang on, is it included in Atari 50? I haven't tried all the games out yet.
It is on Atari Flashback Classics Volume 3 for Xbox and PlayStation and on Atari 50. I am not sure if it made it on the Atari Flashback Classics for Switch or Vita.

I tend to focus mainly on buying games involving shooting.
Or being in a maze
Or both
Have you ever played Maze Invaders?

I am pretty sure I see it now, thank you. The little black part that extends outside the oval is part of the tail fin, and on the other fish, the little black tail fin part extends into the inner blue part. Is that what everybody else sees?

Yeah I remember that now, but I think they'll get it fixed sooner or later. It would be the one Activision cart that easily reads with no issue, then goes straight to glitch. But I have Battlezone and 100 other carts to play. Atlantis II is still out there somewhere.
If I am remembering correctly, Activision used their own bankswitching on Robot Tank at first, but eventually switched to using Atari's bankswitching. I am pretty sure some copies of Robot Tank were produced with the Atari bankswitching, which those copies should work.

@TrogdarRobusto Do you know if Atari got anything Atomic Castle related from this acquisition other than the rights? Most people think the game is completely lost.
Also, any chance we see any of these games show up on Antstream Arcade or somewhere else? Heck, sell them on the VCS 800 or something. I would like to have an easy way to play these.

Good set of games, but Robot Tank may not work on a 2600+. I have so many night scene label Atlantis cartridges since I always buy those just to check if it is an Atlantis II cartridge.

I was thinking of upping the RAM, and I have plenty of SSD hanging around. Thank you for the recommendations - I got Atari 50 for sure and deleted the Vault and Ant subscription service. Didn't seem worth the space for those. I'm not sure how to tap into the BIOS settings, but I will do some research and figure that out. I would like to cut the fan noise a bit. Thank you again for the recommendations.
You deleted Antstream Arcade? That is one of the best things on there. Atari VCS 800 users get a good discount on it. Or at least they did.

I did not see Bounty Bob Strikes Back listed, but I would bet that one is on there.

Have I missed any obvious ones?
Demon Attack
Phoenix
Spider Fighter
Megamania
Turmoil
Galaxian
Stargunner
Gorf
Threshold
Gyruss*
Sea Quest
Space Invaders
Asteroids
Centipede
Millipede
Missle Command
Gravitar (?)
*I do not currently own
If you have Missile Command in there, then I would put Command Raid and M.A.D. in there as well. Let us see what else, Space Cavern, the three Mythicon games.
Edit: Astroblast, Deadly Duck, Gorf, Glacier Patrol, Solar Storm, Guardian, Gremlins?, Spacechase, Pigs in Space, Encounter at L-5, Warplock, No Escape!?, SpaceMaster X-7?
If you have Asteroids, then Omega Race

Ok, after an evening of deliberation, playing around with all the maze shooters I own, here is my tier list:
1. Dark Cavern/Night Stalker
2. Marauder
3. Room of Doom
4. Wizard or Wor
5. Berzerk/Berzerk Enhanced
6. Venture
I really found this tough!
At one point I had 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 swapped round. Perhaps tomorrow I would. I was however very firm on the top and bottom places. I'd say all the games are fun and it's very close. As I said on another day it may look different but it's a bit of fun to share some in the moment thoughts.
Honourable mentions to the not quite fitting in the genre but still great:
Tron Deadly Discs
Tutankham
Alien
Entombed
Now, how about a list of best vertical shooters that rhyme with Shiver Shade? 😋
Joking aside, how about the best non scrolling shooters?
Here's my balancing act. 😋
Nice! Ranking Dark Cavern number one just so it can go on top.

Put me in the camp that thinks the 400 was the best choice out of all the many iterations.

Somebody said Atari did not own patents to any of the 8-bit line of computers. Not the games, just the actual hardware stuff. Was that information false, or did Atari license or buy anything back?

I am pleasantly surprised by this.

Right now it is a paddle, not a spinner.

Are the two blue rectangles inside the black part supposed to be eyes?

Are these the symbols you're talking about? If so, Pisces looks like two fish swimming in a circle, head to tail... kind of like a yin-yang formation. And yeah, Aquarius looks like a pail pouring water into a larger body of water to me.
I grabbed the image from this DigitPress interview with John Michael Battaglia, in which he discusses the absurdity of the Swordquest game design and says
Yes, that is the one. Are the fish the black parts or the blue parts?

So wait, the auction is still running and it has now several bids, but are people saying that the cart is no longer actually for sale even though it is up on eBay? Surely it wasn't sold privately while the auction was running? The person who bought it better be prepared to give it up to the eBay winner if so...
He would not have to do that. If it is the same copy being sold, the buyer would have to deal with the seller who sold something he no longer has.

While (obviously) no specific numbers have been released, it has been strongly suggested that sales were underwhelming. This very probably precludes a follow-up console.
By who? I have not heard that suggested anywhere.

2) Wizard of Wor
3) Room of Doom
4) Dark Cavern
5) Berzerk / Berzerk Enhanced
6) Venture
Note - I'm counting Room of Doom as a maze shooter because after the first couple of screens, there are barriers. And I'm ranking both versions of Berzerk as equal. Enhanced has extra bits, but the room transitions are a lot quicker in the original
Impressive. I mean making a stack of cartridges with an M Network game in there and having it stand long enough to take a picture. Most impressive.

I cannot figure out what the Pisces symbol is. I assume it is a fish, but I cannot come up with any way that it is a fish. Maybe it is fish related? I do not know. Can anybody explain it to me that can let me see it? It is almost a Rorschach ink blot test.
Also for Aquarius, I am pretty sure it is a pail pouring water out, but I do not what the water is being poured into. Just a puddle maybe?
All the rest are for the most part easily figured out.

Masters of the Universe: The Power of He-Man
in Atari 2600

Are you playing on the 2600+? I think this is one of the M Network games that will not run on a 2600+.
