I find jumping the Mutants in the 2600 version a complete crap shoot. Sometimes I jump over them, sometimes I die. And I do not know which one is going to happen until it actually happens.

Yes, but it is probably the least played out of all the Sega games. Well, that or Buck Rogers. I probably need to give it some more playtime. I do need the stickers and sticker sheet for it though.

Imagic's Star Voyager is similar, but with no map. Phaser Patrol from Arcadia/Starpath is very similar, but you need a Supercharger, a cassette tape player, and at the moment a real 2600. M Network's Space Attack is also similar, but the map screen is now about sending out squadrons of ships to engage different enemy fleets.

Did You Know? An Atari 2600 Fun Facts Thread

Well his full name is Hubie the Cube Master, I believe. -
64,460 for me. This might have been my first time playing the 5200 version. I used guided missiles, might try one with straight missiles.

Did You Know? An Atari 2600 Fun Facts Thread

Neat idea, I will play. Did you know that a full EIGHT out of 18 game variations in Atari Video Cube (and presumably Rubik's Cube) are self-playing. You literally watch the computer solve the cube. -
Did you connect the system to the internet either through an ethernet cable or WiFi?
-
That is quite an increase. It seems almost too good to be true, but I have a feeling that the 2600+ has been driving a lot of 2600 collecting lately.

Well we know Atari just trademarked Brain Dead 13, so I would say that one for sure. I would also like to see 2600 Miner 2049er Volume II. Using the saves for Miner 2049 was very nice. Also Jaguar Bubsy in: Fractured Furry Tales, of course. My pipe dream would be that they get Battlezone back and add in all the Battlezone games, or at least the arcade original. Lastly, how about another game they just got back, Math Gran Prix! And Math Gran Prix should be a hidden unlockable game just like Basic Math was.
-
That would make the most sense. In level one, the computer is supposed to take 15 seconds to decide on the move, but only take 10 seconds in the beginner level (8).

Game eight is actually the easiest. Then game one through seven, getting harder as you go.

Were those the only new ones, or was there more?

I would think that a paid DLC might be coming. I could see Bubsy being in there. This last dlc that was free was one Lynx game that was originally on the collection and 11 2600 games.

Who knows where all the ReadySoft ip is now, but outside of Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, none of it is probably super expensive. Still, happy Atari acquired it since there was a Jaguar CD version made that Atari can now do something with.

I think the news station decided to release it as a throwback report or something.
-
That is what I thought, and comments on the video seem to confirm it.

That was neat, thanks for sharing.

Activision cartridges are just like that. I play on an original four-switch wood grain, and Activision cartridges give me the most trouble. Although Avalon Hill cartridges give me the most trouble inserting them, but once they are in they work fine.

My five year old likes to play Surround together. I have not tried Ice Hockey with her yet. Currently she has been trying to play Superman. She captured Lex Luthor and all five of his henchmen by herself.

I like Activision games, I mean my favorite 2600 game is Pitfall!, but I have never thought they were heads and shoulders above everybody else that many think. I play more Atari published games than anything else, of course they published a lot more games than everybody else. I think Parker Brothers and Imagic were just as good percentage wise as Activision. Activision did release more than twice as many games (44 in the US) as the second most productive publisher, Parker Brothers (21 games). Some of my favorite Activision games are Pitfall!, Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, Stampede, Space Shuttle, Starmaster, Robot Tank, Keystone Kapers, H.E.R.O., Commando, and Double Dragon. Yes, I enjoy Double Dragon. On the other hand, some of the most popular Activision games have never been favorites of mine like Kaboom!, River Raid, Enduro, and Dragster. Edit: I like Ghostbusters and Chopper Command too, but I prefer Defender to Chopper Command.
