Because I gave detailed explanations as to why the VCS has a limited to non-existent demographic and why it would be better to reinvest in other ventures, and it got written off as me "being a hater"?

Idk if you read anything else I wrote, but I wasn't coming in here and just being "lol, VeeSeaEs gae!"

I believe you first started posting in the 2600+ subforum, and I did not see anything wrong with your posting. When you started talking about the VCS, your posting changed. You became much more antagonistic, particularly when anybody disagreed with you.

    • Bro, dudes literally posted soyjacks... in response to me.

It's pretty clear any semblance of meaningful and/or polite dialog has gone out the window. Wasn't my intention, but I guess when you're tech bros and DESPERATE to justify your stupid bullshit investments courtesy is second to shutting down valid criticism.

Dude, you need to calm down. If you were attempting polite and meaningful dialog, you did not attempt it long.

Oooo, I wasn't aware of Miner 2019er, and I absolutely love Miner 2049er and Bounty Bob Strikes Back.  Looks like the physical cart is sold out, so I'd need to play the binary either in an emulator or some type of flash cart for the C64...

Edit: Also, Atari does own Miner 2049er and Bounty Bob Strikes Back now, so lots of possibilities there, and you can bet I'll be a strong advocate for doing some fun things with these titles.  :)

How about convincing Atari to release 2600 Miner 2049er Volume II to the next Atari 50 update? I really enjoyed playing 2600 Miner 2049er on Atari 50 since I can save and load easily and those jumps in that game are a pain.

Maybe I was too pessimistic about Nightdive´s future contributions, but the previous owners wouldn´t have sold it for $10-20 million if they expected it to make $2+ million per year.

I read an interview with the Nightdive boss, and he said their past projects (probably didn´t include the latest System Shock) as profitable. So Nightdive is currently the most promising part of Atari. I do think they will struggle more and more with profitability as they scale up, though.

I think part of the sale going through was because Wade Rosen had significant stock in Night Dive.

  5. Well I managed to pull the other wire off too. No big deal I thought, Ant1 will go to pad 1 and Ant2 will go to pad 2. Well both of the wires are marked Ant2. Great. I figured maybe it does not even matter.

Well now my Bluetooth is not working. Time to switch the wires I guess.

  6. One of the wires came loose from the Wi-Fi module when I was adding a new hard drive.  Do both both wires lay on top of each other, or is there one on either side of the screw hole?  I placed the loose one on top of the other one.  I am picking up some Wi-Fi networks, but not all of them.  I thought it might be a 2.4/5g thing, but I am just guessing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the plus side, my new 1 terabyte hard drive is working and I got Atari 50 moved over.  Once I get connected to the VCS Store, I should finally be able to update it.  Along with updating Avian Knights and downloading my two new games and the two games I uninstalled trying to make room for the Atari 50 update.

    * Pitfall (A fantastic looking and fun to play game, though the alligator pits are a real bane ~ I'll hopefully get better at getting across them with more practice. The huge scorpions are a bit tricky to jump over too.

In case you do not know, you can stand on an alligator's head near the eyes when their mouths are open and still be safe.  As far as jumping the scorpions, you should try 5200 Pitfall!.  You have to be to darn near pixel perfect to jump those scorpions.

    * Asteroids (One of my fav classic Atari 2600 games. I prefer the mode in which I can temporarily bring up shields. Once I get into the zone of playing this, I can go a long time non-stop playing it)

I love 2600 Asteroids, but many game variations are too easy.  All the odd numbered variations are easy because of the slow asteroids.  The even numbered games with the fast asteroids is where it's at.  I also stay away from the lower numbered games since the extra lives come too easy.  Games 6 and 8 for hyperspace, 14 and 16 for shields, 22 and 24 for flip, and 30 and 32 with no extra function are where the challenge lies.  Also make sure the difficulty switch is in the hard position, which should be "A" but is currently "B" on the 2600+ to make those UFOs and satellites appear.

It's weird to me that they included Warbirds but not Red Baron.

There are 26 arcade games on there, and only 5 Lynx games outside of Warbirds.  It was more important to flesh out the Lynx section than to add another, albeit fun, arcade game.

What's odd to me is that they consistently leave out Avalanche on these compilations.

Avalanche did make an appearance on Atari Flashback Classics Volume 3 I believe, or one of those collections.  It was the first time I had ever played it, or even heard of it probably.

  9. The dash in the title makes it seem like the first phrase causes the second, when you were using the first phrase as a reason to post the second phrase. A semicolon might have worked better.

There were plenty of Bandai Namco games already on Antstream Arcade. Are these only for the Xbox version, or did they do a poor job of explaining more games coming to the service?

Yes, and since it's back, it would be nice to know why it had to be removed in the first place.

It was there for the Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch consoles on their discs/whatever the Switch uses from the beginning. Atari had to do the day one update to take it off. Warbirds, along with Math Gran Prix, was sold to Tommo in 2013. Atari got the rights back in April this year with the Accolade deal. Presumably Atari thought the deal would go through before the release.

Reading about it seems a little complicated - you add the box for the disc drive ($150), then add the module for Atari ($80) and plug that into your VCS to play physical media with original controllers.

The Atari module will connect directly into the VCS 800 so you will not need to buy the $150 base unit. They are going to make an app to take the place of the base unit on the VCS 800.

Gauntlet? (Blue = valkyrie, Yellow = wizard, Corn = food?) Dark Chambers? Maze Craze? (corn maze?) Maze Invaders prototype? How could blue/yellow diamonds be Kung Food?

Double Dunk! (Baskball Net Basketball Net = dunk dunk)

Moto Rodeo? (Car?, Horse = rodeo?)

Not sure what the waterpolo shooting game could be. Shooting Arcade proto? The non-water Polo prototype somehow?

Pretty good guesses. I still do not understand the Maze Craze one. Corn for a corn Maze, but how are two diamonds craze?
