  2. I haven't seen anybody mention this, but I may have missed it, so I thought I would ask if anybody watched it? I'm pretty sure it was a brand new program and not a repeat of an older program. Not too much Atari on it. Pong was #100, Pitfall! was #97, and Asteroids was #4 which was pretty cool. I thought it was slightly pro-Nintendo, but I could be wrong. During the Space Invaders section they mentioned the 2600 port.
  3. MagnavoxAge.com. All kidding aside I have never come across a site dedicated to the Odyssey2. I would even hazard a guess that this site might hold the largest collection of Odyssey2 fans you can find.
  4. About what I expected having seen a few of your videos. I bet if the Atari Jaguar was a Nintendo Jaguar the one guy would have raved about how great it is/was. I noticed you didn't review Doom or Rayman which are considered two of the best games on the system, but considering how the games you did review fared I'm sure those two wouldn't have done any better.
  5. If you could just choose a level to play then I would try to help you, but since my save is on the last mission I would have to start a new game. Are you sure there isn't a sniper hiding somewhere off screen and when you get near the turret he gets you from the edge of the screen?
  6. Or we could turn the Genesis forum into a 16 bit forum for Genesis, SNES, and TG-16. Then add an 8 bit forum for NES and SMS. I can't imagine a better way to start flame w... I mean great discussions.
  7. Best sports game on the Jaguar. I love playing as Luxembourg, though it does get tough on medium and hard.
  8. Less than two minutes in and there is a Flash appearance, awesome. Now if only Grand Slam and Steeler make it in then this game will be perfect. And about a minute later Steeler!
  9. I have never come across a Lynx pin and probably the only reason I know they exist is because Best Electronics has them. Were they randomly put in certain boxes, or was it more of finding them in the initial release of the games?
  10. Too bad you didn't have a second controller since Raiden is a two player simultaneous game. Is Arifjan the post where everybody goes through on the way to Iraq, or at least used to, or is it another place?
  11. The reverse kick is kind of the opposite of the elbow. Instead of up and away and punch like the elbow, it's down and away and kick.
  12. I use the headbutt sometimes, but it's usually more by accident then by design and I'll sometimes throw an elbow. Probably 98% of my attacks are the reverse kick. The game actually get much harder in my opinion with two players. You get in each other's way or even hit each other and the enemies will sometimes switch who they are attacking which can throw you off. I don't beat it everytime I play by myself but I almost always get to the end boss, it is just much harder with two people in my experience.
  13. I've called them ness and sness for years, and I've been gaming since before the NES came out. Those aren't the only things I call them but I use those plenty. I also use NES, SNES, Super NES, Super Nintendo, and occasionly I may just call the NES a Nintendo. Just because some of you never heard those terms back in the day, that doesn't mean they weren't used. I will grant you that ness and sness are the least common ways to say the names of the systems though.
  14. I have been trying to beat the game with my wife for a long time, but we just can't do it. Usually we don't even get to the last screen, but we have made it once or twice. I've always wanted to see how the final fight is set up and everything.
  15. I think Data East just had the license for home consoles so Activision had to get the rights from them for the 7800 version. I assume Data East had no desire to make a 7800, or 2600 for that matter, version and decided to make some money by selling some rights away.
  16. Kung-Fu Master is the only game this happens to.
  17. As you may know if you read my 7800 Christmas thread I received Kung-Fu Master, along with some other games, for Christmas and have been pleasantly surprised with it. It does have a couple of oddities though. The first is that it came with a Data East NES poster. Now I know the game was licensed from Data East, but it is still weird. The second is that it is the only 7800 game that overheats. After playing for awhile it will freeze up every 30 seconds or so. Last time I played I made it to the fifth floor before it did it to me. I will be able to beat it, at least make it loop, but I will have to be fast.
  18. Worst for me would be Baldies on the Jaguar CD, I have never played the other versions so I don't know if they are diferent. After 100 levels you get 1 Congratulations screen and the credits roll. Even though that is what I expected from a Jag game I was still pissed. There are a lot of games that I really enjoy the endings: all the NES Dragon Warriors, Fatal Run on the 7800, Flashback, and a bunch of others I can't remember right now.
  19. Video Game Saga is the site that has the video review, but at least the reviewer acknowledged my comments and said he just uses a Genesis pad so he did not know.
  20. It seems like it is accepted that you have to fire both weapons at the same time in 7800 Xevious even though that is not true. Now I understand one of the big reasons is that people play the 7800 with a Genesis controller and the 7800 treats it as a one button controller. Recently I found a review on allgame.com that lists this as the main negative to the game. I emailed them, but they never changed it. I also found a video review that said the same thing, but the reviewer did respond to me in the comments. I cannot remember what the website is now though. I just wish people would put a little more effort into their reviews and find out all of the facts. And if you are going to review a 7800 game then use a 7800 controller.
  21. I never had one growing up, but I did get a couple of systems and games in my 20s and have found the system a blast. I actually prefer Golden Axe Warrior over The Legend of Zelda. I also like Phantasy Star, Miracle Warriors, and Ys quite a lot. Wonderboy and Golvellius are just behind those.
  22. I usually just use my initials or name if there are enough spaces, but one time some of my friends and I were playing Power Drive Rally on the Jaguar and I put in JED. Now J is my first initial so everybody thought that was normal and when they saw the E they thought I was going to put JER, but when I put the D everybody just kind of looked at each other trying to figure it out. Finally somebody asked and I told them Jed, you know short for Jedi. It's amazing how something so stupid can make a bunch a guys laugh like idiots, JED still gets brought up to this day occasionly among my friends.
  23. I really never even thought about including the Diagnostic Cartridge. I don't know that much about it, but was it ever released to stores for consumers to buy or was it only intended for technicians? I must say I am suprised by the games. I have heard bad things about Pete Rose Baseball but I really enjoyed it. I think it has one of the best outfield sections of any 8 bit baseball games. Of course the infield part is pretty bad but manageable once you get the hang of it. I knew Kung-Fu Master kept the same control scheme of the 2600 version even though there is a second button and I expected to hate it, but it actually works okay and is pretty fun. Basketbrawl and Motor Psycho were both fun too, but I came at those with less preconcieved notions. I like how on Basketbrawl you can have two players on the same team.
  24. I got some 7800 games from my wife and in-laws, of course I told them what to get. My Christmas included Kung-Fu Master, Pete Rose Baseball, Basketbrawl, and Motor Psycho all CIB. I am getting so close to my complete set I can almost taste it. I still need the hardest to find title, Tank Command, and what I would probably consider second hardest to find, Title Match Pro Wrestling. Alien Brigade still eludes me, but that has more to do with the going rate for a copy than lack of oppurtinity. I also need the box and instructions for Rampage. I have the cartridge that I bought way back in the 7800's life, but I threw away the box and manual. So a very good classic gamer's Christmas for me.
  25. I've had a top level structure of each type: house, castle, nursery, fort, etc. and I have never seen the car. I don't know if it didn't make it in the Jag version or what, but I know I've never seen it.
