  1. that spinning entity from yar's revenge.

when it becomes a hurricane it could scare anyone in florida.

    .. nowadays, anyway.

You mean the qotile? yeah he is pretty intimidating, but let's not forget the sheer terror unleashed by the "man" from Beat Em' And Eat Em'. Somebody should be that guy for Halloween.

  4. Wow. I'm really surprised at the hypocrisy of this seller :ponder:

Disclaimer: The offering of this novelty product in no way signifies that we encourage or personally believe in violence. This product is offered for its collectability and hard to find status.

    Sure.... it's 'collectible'

    *cough*bullshit*cough*

The thing that really makes me wonder why he bothers with 'in no way signifies that we encourage or personally believe in violence', is the fact that the same seller is also listing:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ageName=MERC_VI

    ^-- Crossbows.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3637530580

    ^-- Hunting knives

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2964153139

    ^-- 'SWAT' style knives...

[sarcasm] Soooooo, who else is going to go hide their terrorist bodies in burlap bags after killing them with a SWAT Knife after hunting them down using a crossbow? [/sarcasm]

    Makes me wonder sometimes..

  5. If Coke paid to be in BTTF, then why does Marty ask for a "Pepsi Free"?
I don't actually recall that line.

I do however, know that while coke paid up the money in the first movie, pepsi backed the second movie (which has the scene where Marty McFly walks into the diner and gets the pepsi in the strange bottle). Perhaps pepsi tastes better in the future? :ponder:

Is #1 really correct? I remember reading a book ("The Misfortune 500") years ago which explained the presence of Reese's Pieces in "E.T.".
Not sure here, but this is the instance that all newspapers and so on quote as being the first whenever there are articles on the principle. It could be that it happened in the past but was never majorly publicised (covert placement perhaps?)
  6. 1. Did Atari pay to have its logo displayed prominently in the movie?

    2. Has anyone ever seen the neon Atari logo -- in person or on eBay?

    3. Were any "Blade Runner" games ever produced for any Atari system?

    1. Actually, the first recorded instance of product placement was in Back to the Future, with Coca Cola paying the big bucks. So, No.

    2. No.

    3. No, but someone has made a fake label for the 2600. (Using the soundtrack's cover for the picture)
