  1. I don't actually recall that line. I do however, know that while coke paid up the money in the first movie, pepsi backed the second movie (which has the scene where Marty McFly walks into the diner and gets the pepsi in the strange bottle). Perhaps pepsi tastes better in the future? Not sure here, but this is the instance that all newspapers and so on quote as being the first whenever there are articles on the principle. It could be that it happened in the past but was never majorly publicised (covert placement perhaps?)
  2. 1. Actually, the first recorded instance of product placement was in Back to the Future, with Coca Cola paying the big bucks. So, No. 2. No. 3. No, but someone has made a fake label for the 2600. (Using the soundtrack's cover for the picture)
  3. Enquiring minds want to know! Wait, she said she wouldn't post overseas Oh well. My guess is still 42
  4. hey, welcome back amigo One of the youngest, sensible members we have around here!
  5. The border is removed in a number of applications (you can do things in asm to get rid of it), but if it's already there for some apps, you're basically stuck with it. The adjustment dials on the monitor are generally found on the back, though they're not the kind of thing you want to fiddle with. Why? because they're very badly designed. You need to stick a screwdriver into the hole to move the dial, and you can't see what you're doing... and if you bend one of the dials, boy are you in trouble....
  6. Ahh, you can tell you're going to have a good day, when an old regular returns. It's great to have you back Khryssun, people were worried about you
  7. I'd enter, but I don't know who the guy in the bottom left is.... Time to hunt through some roms I think...
  8. Happens to a lot of old computer stuff, due to the type of plastic they used. I've seen a number of 'yellowed' consoles. NES's and ST's seem vaguely susceptible to it too
  9. Yup, it's all sorted out now. I thought it was a bug with the cookies on 1.1b, but you seem to have worked it out Big thanks
  10. Hrm, Atariage won't stay logged in under my copy of mozilla 1.1b Any thoughts?
  11. First, Rom's for ST generally indicate what's called a TOS rom (basically the os of the system). Assuming you have one of these to run your emulator on, what you are looking for is a disk image. (ie: an image of the disk that the game came on). I'll have a look for you. (as to whether I have it)
  12. That's the first person I've ever seen to thank Robsterman for something....
  13. Would you mind giving us a run down as to the purpose of such devices?
  14. I actually want a barcode battler.... But, of course, I'd need a pair....
  15. One of the Al's captured and encoded the scene to a number of movie formats when it was first shown. Do a little digging, and you'll find the original thread with the links....
  16. ugh., This thread is still going? It's ironic though, that Nateo posted about NES in the Classing gaming forum, about how it isn't a classic....
  17. Asterix is a comic book (and I mean *book*) series about a village of Gauls who resist Roman invasion because their Druid is able to make a super strength potion. Asterix is the main warrior of the village, Getafix is the druid, and Obelix is the local Menihir sculptor, also Asterix's best friend. Obelix doesn't get to drink any of the potion, because he fell into Getafix's cauldron when he was a child and the potion had a permanent affect on him. Asterix and Obelix pretty much travel the world, facing mythical beasts and of course, romans. (Usually shouting out 'These Romans are Crazy!' as a running joke). They're on the same level as the Tintin books. Priceless. Every Child should read them
  18. Xoom was a free homepage style company, that got bought out. (Not sure who bought it though)
  19. The program is public domain, but I can't find a copy of the manual anywhere.... anyone?
  20. He changed his name several times. Haven't seen him post anything recently though.
  21. There are a few out there on the net. One is available from a company in New Zealand. (I was looking at getting one of these earlier in the year. Unfortunately, their .au distributor seems to have vanished) If no one else posts, I'll dig up some links.
  22. I use 1.44mb floppies with tape over the hole. They work for about 3 weeks of heavy use, then I reformat them and off they go... Using disks to copy data actually does work out to be easiest (afaik), since even if you network a hdd to the st from your pc, you can't run programs from it.
  23. Damn. I wouldn't mind a cart like that...
