  1. You got the problem nailed..that is exactly what is happening. I do have the priority set at the highest level but it hasn't changed the conditions at all. I am able to dump all the 2600 games that I have tried without a problem. I can dump small 7800 cart also. But yet..basically anything over the size of say...Dig Dug on the 7800 will timeout...but not in the same place. As for printer driver issues...that would be the driver that Win2K installs...I do have a real printer, but it is USB. I thought about the interupt issue, but that doesn't explain why it will ALWAYS stop at page 105 while transfering. That is if it even makes it that far. I really can't understand what would cause this since under WinME I had not problems at all with it. Oh well, Perhaps I will figure it out someday. For now I just may resort to actually booting off a Dos disk and handling it that way. Should work I didn't convert to NTFS so Dos should be able to read the drive still. We'll see.
  2. Not sure this is what your needing...but see if this is okay... http://members.home.net/crossbow777/Images.../swordquest.gif That is a slightly modified 300 dpi scan of just the SwordQuest Logo from my Fireworld Comic book front page. I edited it out most of the extra stuff caught in the scan so that you could get a fairly clean shot of just the logo. Enjoy! [ 07-18-2001: Message edited by: -^Cro§Bow^- ]
  3. hmm...good topic! I would like to see the following: 1. Adventure 2 (3rd vote for this now) 2. Spider-Man 2 3. Starmaster 2 4. Pitfall 3 (Not sure on story) 5. Another Imagic type game? Those are what I can think of right off hand.
  4. Snider: Can you post some teaser shots of that Venture 2 cart?! hehe. I so wish I could get somebody from here that was going to help me out! I would love to get a copy of either this new cart you have...or more so..elevator action. hehe..anyway, Congrats on the game and I hope it sells well! I am sure it will...

  6. Eckhard, I just changed out the OS..and yes I was able to dump Xenophobe, Rampage, and several others without any issues at all with my current cable etc. I was able to get Dig Dug (64pages worth) to dump just fine. But again when I try to dump somthing larger than that...It will Time out randomly either at 40+pages, 60+ pages, or right at the 105+page mark. so..again, any ideas?
  7. okay...played with the program some more in Win2k since Mitch was able to get it running with out any probs. Here is where I am currently. I can get the transfers to start...but they always stop and then timeout. This appears to only be happening with Activision and Absolute carts right now. Anyway, the program will timeout in one of 3 places...either when only 41-43 pages have been transfered, 60-65 pages, and if it gets past that...then it will always stop at 105 pages. So..any ideas why it would work only up until that point? Again, I do have the DevOS ver. 1 in my 7800 and do not have easy access to get ver. 2.0 put in. I may however have AlanD from the rgvc irc group getting me a copy of the DevOS 2.
  8. nope....as I understand it...the Actiplaque effect is actually like a molding on the label from the glue which makes sense. After all if was just the glue discoloring the label over time...then even new boxed Activision carts would have this once opened. But many don't and that is because they were kept in away from light and most moisture. I have also seen some Atari Carts with Actiplaque type damage on the labels. I have a Pac-Man cart that has some spotting on it like this. So I really don't see how it could be cleaned off. It would depend on where the discoloration is...if it is just the glue that is discolored, then you could perhaps carefully steam off the labels and then scrape em on the bottom, then reglue them in place. If it is actually a reaction with the label itself. Then I don't see how it would be possible.
  9. No sure how to answer this...all the roms I have downloaded of this...do what you described...but my actual Choplifter! at home..doesn't do this. anybody know what is going on? Mitch? Eckhard?
  10. I would be interested in the Mario Bros cart for the 7800 and also the Xenophobe cart as well. What do you want for them?
  11. Malix: I have an extra Missle Command. what do you have to offer me? hehe...
  12. I use one called De Solve it. It is a citrus based cleaner...but...it eats the finish off the labels. So if you do use something like that...just be really really careful on how much..and how hard you rub.
  13. I suppose the 5200 could have done this..and the 7800 for sure could have. But the boards would have been limited..and without the trackball controllers being more standard I don't think the joysticks...analog or digital could have done it justice. Still...who knows...
  14. hehe..would love to comment on this...but I haven't any of the games your talking about besides the 2600 ones... So I can't form an opinion on this one either way. As for 2600 games...I would hate to have to play combat as the big ole Bi-plane and I am not too fond of pac man on the vcs. I actually would play ET without any probs..since I know the patterns from screen to screen and generally don't fallin the holes unless I want to.
  15. Does sorta seem to contradict ehh? I suspect this forum exists to discuss new games that are Atari related...or perhaps to discuss issues in emulation etc...
  16. Pricing is hard to determine. Usually you have to go by how rare something is...and how complete...plus the condition. Also a fair price is simply what you think it is worth. Example. A combat cart by itself..with nothing is only worth like maybe 50 cents to a buck depending on the condition. But if you have it boxed and complete...then I could see it going for maybe 5 bucks or more simply because you have everything with it. Some games are worth only a buck or two...whereas some go for much much higher. Your best bet is to search ebay's previous auctions for the same or similar items and see what the prices ended up going at. Hope that helps.
  17. That was my assumption as well. I hadn't even tried to use it under win2k yet so I didn't really know. But yes, once again the HAL is doing its job and not allowing access to the hardware. I suppose I need to find some VMware stuff to handle this now...ugh.
  18. hehe..I figured it was something like that. The heavy Sixer being as old as it is, I could see Atari using different switches from all over depending on what was laying around, or as you said, who was the cheapest to buy from that month etc. Just curious as I remembered my old 4 switch was the same throughout. Glad to hear that it is a fairly common thing. Thanks! [ 07-16-2001: Message edited by: -^Cro§Bow^- ]
  19. Eckhard, Does the 7800ctrl program not work in Windows 2000? I just switched me whole setup at home to this last week. When I tried to dump some of the roms now I keep getting timeouts. But I have checked all the resources, etc and nothing conflicts. But I cannot get the program to function in the command box under Win2K. Any luck with this?
  20. 5: Solaris 4: StarWars:TAG 3: Pitfall 2 2: Krull 1: Riddle of the Sphinx That be my current top five list (Mine also changes regularly).
  21. Okay Alex, I will hook up the the com cable up tonight..and get those dumped for you. Again they will be raw dumps and would normally requie a header in them to tell mess how to use them. But as you stated...those can at least be made avail for others to do that with.
  22. Are you stating you have Rampage and Double Dragon then? You only listed Xeno and Winter games. I can dump Xeno, Rampage, Tower Toppler, Doubledragon and umm...Well..I guess that's it. But they would be raw dumps and I am not sure on how the headers for Mess are done still. But I am more than happy to provide you with raw dumps. Let me know.
  23. It simply fell victim to time. When 7800 Klax was ready Atari had all but stopped the support on the 2600, and 7800 by then. I guess they figured there wouldn't be a point to it not to mention they would have rathered focused most of the money and attention to the Lynx and Jaguar by then. I wonder why it hasn't been released lately? I would expect the DP guys or somebody to get this setup and release the game officially in limited quantities. Oh well...perhaps next years CGE?
  24. It's plain and simple. The NES was superior in some ways technically...but it had a more limited color pallette to that of the 7800..and the the 7800 ran faster and was able to handle more objects (even for a scanline renderer). What killed the whole 7800 from being more popular was the fact that the Tramiels Shelved the damn things in 84 instead of releasing them. If they had...I think things would have been much different for Atari and the 7800 especially. But no...they released it too late after the Big "N" was already taking the market.
