  1. Bingo! If I had a Z89 or some such thing I might be interested but without one the card just takes up space and those old S-100 machines are just too expensive to ship for me to even consider one right now.
  2. I was never able to get into this game without the music. Will there be a Pirate Pete version?
  3. tell me more? I want that game. Tower of Doom hits you with a double whammy in that not only is it one of the harder to find games, it also happens to be a damn good game. When you combine those two attributes the result is usually higher prices. Best bet for Tower of Doom is to find someone selling a complete system with a bunch of other games for a low price. Anyone selling it on it's own usually knows what it's worth. $25-$30 for the loose cart seems to be the norm and CIB usually runs from $75-$150 depending on condition.
  4. I don't know why Sears Checkers is so hard to find. None of the rarity guides lists it very highly and you see games a lot rarer CIB all the time on ebay. Is it rarer than Diner or Tower of Doom? Congo Bongo or Dig Dug? I don't think so but you see those games for sale all the time. Stadium Mud Buggies has even shown up for sale more times than I've seen Sears Checkers. I've seen several guides that pretty much agree on Mattel Checkers being a 3 and the Sears version a 4. You should see it for sale a lot more often unless someone is hoarding them to drive the price up.
  5. I've already got Basic XE. I got an unbelievable price on a 1200XL with a bunch of loose carts a few years ago and Basic XE was one of them. I've had Basic XL for a long time. I need an Action! cart now and I'll be set.
  6. is the one your mother warned you about.

    1. Random Terrain

      Random Terrain

      You're not my uncle.

  7. Ebay has made it quite clear over the years unless you are moving 10,000 items per month or more they don't want you selling on their site.
  8. I got a Powermac 6100 shipped to me in a box that was modified to be perfectly form fitting to the computer with no leeway allowed for being drop or bump damage. Another seller sent me a Quadra 840AV in a similar state and I ended up losing a cover plate off the front of that one that got shattered somehow. A third seller once sent me a Performa 6200 and Powermac 6500 each wrapped in brown paper and tied with string.
  9. Have you seen the number of people who list small expensive items for .99 BIN plus hundreds of dollars in shipping for stuff that shouldn't cost more than 3 or 4 bucks to ship? I flag at least 5 listings a day like that for ebay to check out. I saw one just yesterday someone had a GTX480 video card, $25 BIN, $220 shipping just to avoid paying ebay fees on the $220.
  10. Can an unmodded ST mouse be used with it? (both buttons functional)
  11. The second cart slot and the 3rd and 4th joystick ports weren't that big of a loss because relatively little software actually used them. The XL's had to happen because the 800 was just too expensive to produce after the release of the Commodore 64. Even the 1200XL was still something like $200 more than the C64. It really makes me wonder what Atari was thinking with that one. Yes, let's release a 64k machine 4 months after the competition that costs $200 more and has fewer expansion options. Public horsewhipping is too good for the dimwit who came up with that idea.
  12. Somehow I doubt there is much demand for a Corvus nic. It's not for the Corvus Transporter card it's for the hard drive interface and yes, there is a demand for those. I'd buy the first two off the assembly line if someone duplicated those.
  13. The music kills the NES version. The NES music sounds thin and tinny.
  14. Where do you get a version of Contiki that runs on the A8? I can't find it anywhere, or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
  15. 800XL is probably best for a first A8 machine just to see what it's like then branch out from there.
  16. Finally found one that the seller wasn't asking the sun and moon for. Cost me about $70 total with a manual from B&C and shipping (just the manual came from B&C, not the cart). Woo Hoo!
  17. It would be nice if one of our resident geniuses could duplicate the Corvus controller for these drives. I've had a pair of them sitting on a shelf in my basement for about 10 years now. I can't find an interface for any of the computers they worked with.
  18. I have an actual Shugart (brand name) 10-meg MFM drive sitting here.. The model number is SA712 Both the Adaptec ACB-4000A (MFM-SCSI BRIDGE) and ACB-4070 (RLL-SCSI BRIDGE) will work with SCSI or SASI. Just install a jumper on the "I-J" position on J5. You would normally leave this jumper off in a standard SCSI system, but if your interface is SASI, you install this jumper and the Adaptec board will recognize the addtional commands from the SASI command set that were different in SCSI. Also, in addition to the XEBEC 1410 MFM-SCSI bridge, there was a later model called the XEBEC 11410A. Not sure what the difference/improvements were between these two models. Also, evidently Phillip Price did not think much of XEBEC.. Maybe his blew up or something, while he was working on Alternate Reality: The City. He named it "The City of XEBEC's demise." What about this Xebec Adapter? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140517518783 Holy crap that's a lot of money. I paid $75 for TWO Xebec boards not long after I made my original post in this thread and got a photocopied manual with them.
  19. I seriously hope you bought that Tooth Protectors for $200 because it's a bargain at that price. That game is almost in the same league as an original Pepsi Invaders in rarity.
  20. That Fireman game looks like a Zellers 2600 cart. Not sure if they ever did Coleco Vision games. There was a Super Donkey Kong prototype for the Adam that filled in the missing levels, so someone could have done a repro of that. Never heard of Super DK Junior though that could also be a repro of a proto that never got released. They could also be homebrews.
  21. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 250772123099 Everyone should send this guy messages telling him it's a modern reproduction and report it to ebay as a fraudulent listing.
  22. Nothing could possibly be more boring than or worse than "name this game" or perhaps the diagnostic cartridge. Slot Racers is unique and quite the original game. It is not meant to resemble the blacktrack slotcars from tyco and aurora.. Then why name it Slot Racers if that's not what the game is about? That should fall under deceptive advertising.
  23. I get errors sometimes when I try to access listings where the seller specifies that he won't sell to USA. Yes, a LOT of people refuse to sell to USA, so it's not just you Euro types who get shafted.
  24. 1000 and 750 buy it now prices? give me a break. The actual bids might have been a little low, but no way in hell are the BIN's realistic.
