  1. Just watched your Microsoft Multiple. I have a new module and Disk and manual like you showed in your video. Too bad I can't use it. I'm hoping you can help me.. I set up TIPI for telnet and at the start they ask for tipi for login and paswd then have me change my pass. I did, however I may have written down on my paper wrong. How can I get reset with another passed?

    Thanks as always!

Well Microsoft Multiplan is the standard spreadsheet for TI-99 and it is compatible with TIPI.  So that is almost without exception what people use.

  2. Hi pixelpedant,

I'm a TI-99/4a user and I'm searching for a nanoPEB or a CF7+ hardware to add to my computer to save/load basic stuff. But It's very difficult to buy one of these item now. I tried ArcadeShopper.com but all is sold out !

Do you know where to find one to purchase ? Thanks in advance.

    Greetings,

    Bruno

They haven't been made consistently for quite a while.  Occasionally, they show up on Ebay.  It might be best to just post on the forum to see if anyone is interested in selling one or trading for one, given there are a lot of them hanging around unused in people's closets at this point.

Yes, the standard FinalGROM is compatible with any original-model TI-99/4A.  It has problems with keyboard input on the TI-99/4 as well, but that is very unlikely to be a machine you'll own.

And printing to PDF is supported via TIPI using the PI.PIO device: https://github.com/jedimatt42/tipi/wiki/PI.PIO

Am I understanding correctly that you changed your TIPI login and password and no longer have access to it?  If this was during initial setup (or there is nothing on the TIPI SD needing preserving), it may be easiest to just write the SD card with a new image.

  5. My first time! is this setup correct? Sams plugged into TI followed by TIPI and connected to pi4. Does the TIPI and Sams get all their power from the TI? Do I only need to power the pi? Many Thanks for your guidance!

The TIPI to Pi wiring can be found here: https://github.com/jedimatt42/tipi/wiki/TIPI-to-PI-Wiring

Using a rainbow cable is indeed a good idea, just to keep easy track of things more easily.

No, the SAMS needs its own power source.  That will be a regulated 5V supply.  They are often sold with it, but can be purchased easily enough.

In general, the console is an undependable power source for external peripherals.

  7. I'm enjoying all your content on Youtube etc. I'm  a newbie to all retro computing, Am hoping you can guide me. I watched your upgrade video and got myself a TIPI  board. I'm waiting on the SAMS 32 to work this properly. How does all this connect? Is the multi colored ribbon for my PI 4? What goes to the 10 pin slot to the left of the chip?  Thank you pixel pendant!

Glad to hear you're enjoying my stuff.  The connector to which you have the cables attached is indeed the correct connector by which to connect your TIPI to a Pi.  The JTAG connector you indicate, you likely won't ever need to worry about.  Your main considerations are just connecting the TIPI to a SAMS (or 32K) board, connecting your SAMS/32K to reliable external power, and connecting the TIPI to your Pi (via the connector shown).
