  1. Chocolate Doom(smoother experience than dosbox), Jaguar , Playstation. That's how i play doom. Brutal doom has iron sights and assault riffles that need reloading Plus Doomguy should'n scream "f*** yourself" i guess it's fun but it's not Doom to me. Jumping guns and ammunitions in later ports always crack me up it kinda looks bad: "Hey look now chargers don't just appear on the floor anymore, they bounce out of the dude's pocket!" If the mod requires Zdoom so be it but i like vanilla wads better. to me the classic mechanics feel like Pac-Man. Perfectly rounded mechanics. It's like some simple pleasures that don't need more toppings. Yup, to me Brutal Doom and the like kinda feel like these overcomplicated and out of place pizzas.
  2. Yup. The difficulty mechanics felt a bit disapointing especially since the rune to get bfg ammo kinda breaks the game with endless supply of panic buttons. Enemy variety between modes would have added more replay value and surprise like in the previous games. The glory kill mechanics i think was to prevent the "enter this room, shoot to alert the demons of your presence and wait by the door with a shotgun" syndrome that the first games suffered. But it has brought the syndrome of "glowing dude! Gotta slap!" syndrome maybe to please twitchy mobile game addicts with "instant gratification". The humor shoehorn kinda bothers me with its lack of subtlety. The 2016's game was better at this.
  3. It's a mess: Doom 64 is technically Doom 3 (Sequel to Doom 2) Final Doom is an alternate sequel to Doom 2 (also Doom 3 then) "Doom 3" is technically a reboot Doom 2016 is technically Doom 4 (Codex entries hint it's a quiet sequel to Doom 64 aka "soft reboot") Doom Eternal is technically Doom 5 (unless ID cement that Doom 2016 is finally a full reboot)
  4. It looks the same because art direction. ID Tech 7 is more efficient. They can show more stuff. Some developers change the art direction in sequels for the game to appear more advanced but most engines are advanced enough nowdays that the evolution comes with what we perceive as diminished returns.
  5. Has anyone noticed the dead strogg on the left at the start of the first trailer from june?
  6. And i'm too late... Bought it cause it was cheap and couldn't afford other consoles. It was the underdog and i wanted a playstation. Still, the Jaguar has become my favorite since none has felt that special since then. It's still the coolest looking console ever made and has my favorite versions of my two favorite games.(Doom and Wolf3D) Tempest 2000 which i only got recently cemented that feeling even more... Even the bad games are cool...
  7. It's about buying them legally from the the store and having money given to the author. Like mp3s or E-Books. Good idea.
  8. I think the idea is getting the rom only for a lower price and still contribute.
  9. Purchasing ROMs of these games would be nice.
  10. Conan Exiles, God Of War and Far Cry 5 are my main games right now. I dropped God of war for a bit because spongy enemies that kill you in one shot doesn't make you feel like a god of war... The art direction, story and level design are fabulous tho. Really pleased and surprised by Far Cry 5 after the mixed bag that was 4. It's tons of fun. Conan is still very buggy but a fun experience. It's refreshing for me cause i never played a survival/ fort building game before and it fits the conan universe rather well. I'm still playing solo/offline for now so i can aclimate myself before going multi. I'd be interested to see the concept adapted to mad max but i fear that the formula could feel a bit tired by then, but who knows...
  11. Would you say Cyrano is a bit NOSEy ? Don't judge me, it's late...
  12. I kinda want to replay Myst on the Jag even if i finished it on PC back then
  13. Well there's also Highlander and Iron soldier 2's superior cd version. Edit: It would't be that big of a problem especially if it can be patched...
  14. I just lost more than 100 pounds so no thanks
  15. This thread is going places. I love it.
  16. Agreed, i'd rather wait one more year or even more as long as it doesn't cost someone's health just for an SD card...
  17. I wish they would port that to modern platforms. I still have my Dreamcast but i'd have to rebuy everything... Back to topic, i'm really interested to see where Clint's work might go with this. Already looks nice.
  18. My body is ready for Battlemorph an Highlander. I'll also be able to finally finish Towers 2!
  19. I think it's not Romero's favorite version because of the unability to circle strafe. Still my fave version too.
