  1. Maybe one day. I live in the next country so i don't really have any excuse besides money and my shyness. DF Retro (digital foundry/Eurogamer's retro segment) Hinted about E-Jagfest with short footage in their Doom episode saying they'd maybe come back to it. Wonder when we'll see that.
  2. Well it would be a perfect symbol for a resurrection.
  3. I have two PAL Jags and the leds are green
  4. Yeah preservation makes it worth it too since the cart connectors pins on the Jag can be damaged.
  5. I like real games too especially when it's cartridges so i still bought brand new games recently even so i'll be buying this SD cartridge cause it feels nice to have the object for some games. A bit like people collecting vinyls. Some are too expensive for me though...
  6. Had some weird black dots on some games and not others on only one of my jags, usually blinking on the same line of the screen (AVP and cybermorph and only one dot in the bottom left corner in Doom) Maybe graphic chip can have that too?
  7. Since wiggling the cart had a result i'd favor a dirty/damage cart connector on the console eplanation but i'm not an expert either. Hope you solve it.
  8. It's a frustrating game from an average franchise(3d doesn't exist) but it's a classic in the sense that it's well known and tried by many who try this platform since it's an exclusive. I have this love/Hate relationship with it. It's too hard but the music and graphics get me everytime and Bubsy is a cool character. I have to play the others on Snes.
  9. Looks like your project has been mentioned in the DF Retro episode on Doom Ports.
  10. That's pretty cool, pretty much what i expected. Thanks for you answers!
  11. Nice! I think Doom needs some seconds to register the "* + # + Option" to reset the memory but that won't be needed here anyway. How will we have to handle save files by the way?
  12. I'm glad to see you seem to have overcome some of the problems you had. Can't wait! Woudn't there be interference if using part of an already existing combination?
  13. I don't really like to chat before playing so i guess i'll maybe try at random.
  14. I don't play online often and Odamex as good as it is, is usually empty when i join in. It's more of an event based comunity if i recall corectly. I play online Doom at random for short periods, i also don't communicate with other fans so... I heard Odamex was the base of ps3 classic Doom port. Is it true?
  15. This is insane. Thank you for this. I just learn about this thanks to Flomojo.
  16. I can't stand how pistol clips/guns bounce from the dying enemy in Zdoom. The decals on walls feel awkward if you don't use vertical mouse view/or shotgun since they all end up on the same line. Chocolate Doom is for authenticity and sometimes feel mre accurate than DosBox. Prboom+ I close but with more limit removals(choco has some) Zdoom is sometimes needed when the Wad uses advanced script etc... If you want fast mouseplay then yes Zdoom is better. If you want to reexperience Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom then Doomsday engine is something to try. Doomsday engine and GzDoom both feature ambient occlusion which is nice to remove the flattness of low old map under Opengl. You can also use High resolution texture packs, some are nice but it sometimes removes the authenticity of the game's look. There are also 3D models but they don't look very nice and the animations are rigid. Music packs are also a thing to try if you don't like Midi. Some remade soundtracks are nice. I personaly use VirtualMIDISynth http://coolsoft.altervista.org/en/virtualmidisynth It's a nice way to replace windows midi instruments if you don't like the way they sound. If you do so you have to find complete soundfonts ".sf2" files that you have to decompress from other file types with specialised decompressors... The soundfonts have to feature evry needed instruments or you will have crashes. Some people like Brutal Doom/Project Brutality as a way to play it. I personally don't like it as it adds iron sights and reloads. I only play these things in multiplayer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2JTRsaHqyI EDIT: Thanks Flomojo about the the Jaguar port on Pc (Calico Doom) I didn't know about it.
  17. I love Ps1 Doom a lot too mainly because music(don't really care for Midi either) and light effects(own 2 copies + Final Doom) but i prefer the original gun sounds and demon screams. The original baron's scream was the embodyment of fear to 12 year old me.
  18. I thought you were being sarcastic. Hmm It's hard to give advice about ports since there many for all tastes and a new one each month or so. I stick with chocolate doom also because i can use it easily with a game pad and it's simplicity doesn't require ODC-me to spend hours in the config menus.
  19. Chocolate Doom is the best because it's my favourite (i like doom like it was on Dos) If i want modern stuff i play DOOM 2016, the best FPS of this gen(also subjective). Zdoom is fine but it's mostly for mods and TCs. I can't see myself go through IWADs with it.
  20. Of course you can disregard what i said about Opengl when it come to Doom64 EX. It was filtered from the start. It's a bit off-topic but i wish i could disable always run in EX when i use the analog stick of my DS4
  21. You guys don't get it, of course i know about zdoom, i'm not that old You can also play Atari st games on emulator but playing it on Jaguar brings an other perspective and is just cool. Also, Ahem, death to Zdoom, Chocolate Doom for life. Ahem. Prboom+/Glboom+ Is also acceptable, Doomsday Engine for Nicities, DelphiDoom for 32 bit software rendering(opengl is kinda gross on old games). Zandronum for online. I Doom often you know... But Jag Doom is my first love.
  22. I like to use controllers on Dos games. The number pad would be great for games like Catabombs where you can assign Numbers to Healing or special weapons. I'm tempted.
