  1. So i heard about this project of making a new Doom game for the Jag from the published Jag Doom source code. The prospect of improved resolution, added enemies and gameplay mechanics sounded exciting. What happened to that?
  2. I doubt it since i bought it from Telegames. It says "limited edition" They said this one came from a different batch. This game would be a bit useless without eeprom since it's an RPG.
  3.     I tried two cartridges on two different consoles each so i doubt it's a dirty connector. Also I have 11 other games that save perfectly so... Edit: I tried the kind of cleaner you refer to since i have some(not the exact same brand) and no luck.
  4. Soooo Update two: cartridge exchanged, same "cart error" when i try to save on cart. What the hell? Please help.
  5. There are even different builds for the buttons insides and color won't really matter. Also connectors with a different number of pins, different types of plastic qualities for the casings and different type of wires (thick/thin).
  6. I have one grey and a black that are both clicky. They are both horrible for walking+turning at the same time in Doom and Wolfenstein. If by clicky you mean the ones that the directionnal pad produce a clicking sound that is. They feel more robust but i prefer the others. My fave one is a soft feeling grey buttoned thick wired one but "pause" won't function properly in Zool 2 with grey buttoned pads so i switch for black. Black buttons however look the best
  7. Nah don't bother, it's not an issue anyway. I just wanted to know if someone knew the origin of the phenomenon. Elbryan42 from youtube has to be ntsc and has the same sound.
  8. The speakers. Whatever speakers or headphones, only with Doom It's very faint only when the screen is very bright, on my two jags(three if you count the one from my childhood and also every youtube Jaguar Doom playthroughs... If you don't hear it maybe your speakers cut off some frequency because it's there.
  9. Are you NTSC or PAL? It could be linked to hardware versions.
  10. I tried cybermorph with all sounds muted, no static sound. It's Doom. It's not my cartridge nor my console. It's the way the game works. My the other jag woes the same, my childhood Jag did the same also and with an other cart with other equipments. You guys should try by yourselves. The main menu does it as well as the title screen when loading starts. It's weird no one else noticed. As for the Vectrex i wanted to buy one(small world) but i can't afford much more platforms as i have more jag games/accessories planed as well as current gen games. Also exotic consoles are the most expensive ones
  11. Nah i use an LCD tv but back then i thought the same with my trinitrion lol. Zerosquare you must be right but i'm pretty sure it's not the cable as even the official scart does it and i'm pretty sure CatBox recordings out there feature the same thing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0Nf5J4Q_I4 Go ahead, put your cart in the Jag crank up the volume or put on headphones like me and move arround the first map and compare facing differently lighted surfaces.
  12. I've always wondered why Doom (and wolfenstein to an extent) produced some sort of faint buzzing sound in the speakers when facing a bright surface or in the menus/stats screens. I had it with my original jag too and it's peresent in video streams of the game so i assume it's for everyone... Is it because it computes with the sound DSP? Also, is it reduced if using a regulated PSU?(closer than 9v than the official jag one is)
  13. Since i doubt it will be very powerful they could play their own card in Nintendo's manner in the sense of originality but with arcade style games like Minter does. I'm sure it will have several of these at launch. I feel like it's this kind of machine. People go to Atari for games like these like people go to Nintendo for Mario and Zelda.
  14. Ermahgerd. So there was a dispute between Minter an Atari... Glad it's sorted out. Also, i wonder if Minter will have some exclusives for the Atari Box...
  15. it's the 94 version with music so no need to turn it on. It's just that it's usually 93 version with music and intro or 94 version with neither . Mine is half-bred...
  16. Oops i meant 94 and can't edit. Still, anybody got info on that? 1994 Cart with music. Is it rare?
  17. Ah ! We get to see the guts of the beast. The hype is real. Nice to hear it's safe.
  18. Update: I send it back tomorrow for exchange. Thread's over. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
  19. I've heard the 93 version didn't have Main screen music nor morphing intro. Mine is from 93 and has music but has no intro. It was apparently bundled with the fench jag i bought. So is it a mid-version? Lol Edit: I think i used to have the full version too bundled with my childhood Jag.
  20. Yeah nice review and i agree. Got this game a week ago or so and even tho it's not initially my kind of game it's really pleasing and exciting at the same time. Few games still provide me these feelings. Oh and the music... It has since driven me to buy Polybius which is a blast on PSVR (strong epilepsy warning). I'll maybe even buy T2K's playstation port (Tempest X3). I see you have a podcast so i'll listen.
  21. Well it's only black dots blinking individualy on the same vertical line anyway so a pictue would only show a black dot on the screen. A video capture would have been better but i don't have the hardware for that.
  22. I tried cleaning the connectors but will try later maybe with alcohol. Also the Option + * + # did nothing, not even a message like with other games.
  23. I received Towers 2 brand new today and i love it but have cart "cart error!" message whenever i try to save. Is it automaticaly a dead eeprom or could i try something else? I emailed Telegames already. I wanted this game for two years, Am sad.
  24. I posted this in the Jag section already but figured it would be more appropriate here. I bought an old Jag but it has a weird display issue that i dont really have ways to capture and it's not produced when the game is paused. It's a faint vertical line of fast blinking black dots (2 pixels wide, one pixel high), always the same place(near center right of the screen) Only with two games out of nine : cybermorph and AVP but more with cybermorph than with AVP. I can't reproduce the same scenario with the same Scart cable/PSU/games/Tv on an other jag, both are pal french consoles I've also noticed that it doesn't have the 16/9 autodetection issue the normal working one has with scart to hdtv. I've stopped using this one till i know more since i'm a bit scared of damaging my games.
  25. Wow that's very useful info to have, thanks. If i ever cross one in an electronic shop i'll try this.
