Messiah is the slimiest company I've yet to see try to cash in on the recent retro gaming craze.
OK, wait. Has anyone tried to get their money back from Messiah? I mean, if they refund your money 100%, then they can't be THAT slimy. I think I remember someone mentioning getting a full refund on another forum...

The joysticks are a HUGE sales point. It will be nice to have a new batch of manufactured DB-9's out there. I wonder if the cable will be longer...
I also wonder if some shady eBay sellers will be trying to pass off these joysticks as originals...

I know this is all a joke. You're just covering up the fact that Globetrotter is in Rome paying respects to-a the Pope-a!!!
-
Wow. Brooklyn. What do you guys expect?
I'm surprised neither Spengler nor Stanz have bid on this puppy yet... you know, since they're right around the corner.

Like this?
That should be a Daily Show "Moment of Zen!" That's the best thing I've seen in about 3 weeks.

Nutley, NJ?! I played a gig down there once with this band called the McCarthy's. In some church community center... it was weird. I felt like Marty McFly at the "Enchanment Under the Sea Dance."

Man, the Beastie Boys used to be my favorite, but the new album hurt me BAD. There's some hot tracks on it, but for the most part it's like they're characatures of their old selves. And there's ome real corny stuff... and not corny on purpose.
Like that chorus "who's got a power to make a difference? Who's got the power to make a change? YOU got the power to..." I mean, I'm down with the message but it's WAY too campy and reminds me of something that belongs on Kids, Inc.
And why does the world need another hip-hop song that samples "Rapper's Delight"/"Good Times?"
I'd also like to add that the Beastie Boys are all super mini. I got to meet them and hang out with them once and I was totally taken aback by how little they were. I was like 16, 5'6" and about 130 lbs. at the time and none of them were bigger than me. It was weird. It's probably because in all their videos the camera is at knee level...
Somebody should send them a Synthcart.
-
So what's on these records? Music? Stories? Pure Awesomeness?
-
So... I'm recording from my 2600 into my PC, overdubbing some Synthcart stuff over some more Synthcart stuff and I realize that since my PC is RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME I could also use an emulated Synthcart simultaneously (duh!). Well, I can't figure out where the problem lies, but when I hit a key on my keyboard to play a note, there is ~300-500 ms lag before the note actually sounds. I've tried it with z26 as the only program running, there's no stutters with the beatbox tracks or anything like that and I've messed around with the settings using the x26 front end. Nada. Oh and I'm running windows with a nice big Pentium 4 and 512MB of RAM. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

I just went back and looked at all the entries... and I noticed that a really good chunk of them have this upper-left to lower-right thing going on. Check it. I even went and looked at my 2 failed label attempts and they both had the same kind of "diagonal symmetry." Funny....

Oh duh. It says "latest" project. Um... ON WITH THE PRE-ORDER!
-
OK, so all that being said, this leaves us with 2 items to tackle:
1) Joe needs to change the "current project" portion of his signature
2) When does the Ultra SCSIcide pre-order begin?

Oh man... these contests are totally fixed! Nathan Strum's #3 totally ROBBED the victory from the TRUE winner: Nathan Strum #9.
Seriously, nice work all around! Seeing all these great sumbissions makes me want to start a homebrew just so we can have another contest!
-
Darn you, Nathan Strum. Darn you to heck! You've outdone yourself! Very nice!
I might have to throw in the towel on this one...
-
Yes, Westminster it is! I've actually been using that font a lot lately to promote my current music project: http://www.myspace.com/dotdUmmy. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

I think it's going to come down to whether I want to include more allophones (speech elements) or better pitch control. Personally I'm more concerned with pitch so that's probably what will end up being implemented.
I'm with you on that. Pitch all the way. But just as long as the proper allophones for obscene words are there!

Man, I can't believe the crap that has been dished out for putting this game on hold! It's not like Paul said he was going to pick you guys up at the airport at noon and then didn't show up until 10PM because he was on a date with you little sister... or something.
The game looks awesome and should be worth the wait. And remember, as time passes, the potential for greatness can only increase. For example: maybe the game will support the AtariVox. If it came out in June, that wouldn't have been an option.
Right?
-
OK, so on the LoopCart project page it reads:
"some support for the AtariVox speech chip too"
Besides saving to it, how much is "some?" Will it access only the speech aspects or the "R2D2 glory" also?
Either way, I'm very excited about LoopCart! Paul Slocum is my new hero.

But why would you want to store what you just downloaded ?
The "mostly" thing was mostly an "Aliens" reference... mostly.
Being somewhat of a dumbass, I tend to do semi-dumb things and I often have to bail myself out of unfavorable situations... like accidently deleting something I just dumped onto the Krokodile.
I'll just have to be careful!
<---- that emoticon is called "party", but in this situation, it's a dunce-cap. -
Albert, thanks for the info!
2) can you upload data from the cart to your PC?No, but why would you want to do this?
..Al
I was mostly just curious... mostly.

OK, I'm new to this (programming/Atari) stuff and I have a few questions on the Krokodile Cartridge.
1) it's re-writable, right? And if so, can you pick and choose what you want to erase via the Commander? Like I said, I'm new to this and I know that my test homebrews will require more than just a patch or 2. I'm talking "back to square one" stuff.
2) can you upload data from the cart to your PC?
Thanks!

Wow. This is great news! I've been on the list for about 9 months now!
For all of you who are posting messages saying that you want to be added to the list, you should send a PM to Albert as he is the keeper of the cheese, keymaster, etc.
