  1. I looked on ebay and saw one going for 400 dollars. the guy said it is one of the rarest Jaguar items. What happened? I own 2 of them and bought them 10 years ago for like 50 each. Are they really that rare now?? 400 dollars????????

Yes they are incredibly expensive. If you need new ones they will be for sale at some point this year. I have been working on getting them manufactured.

  2.

Thanks! Will do. I love these games. I have them all on original floppy... but I also bought the CD collectors edition from Wizard Works. I've never gone through all of them, but I'd have to say... Pool of Radiance is still my favorite, but the two Savage Frontier ones are a close second. I also really like Secret of the Silver Blades... just something about it. They're all pretty awesome... Curse of the Azure Bonds was my least favorite though...

Pool of Radiance is great and I would play it more often however it doesn't have the fix command that auto-casts healing spells if I remember?

  3. Hey guys, I love AtariAge... so don't misunderstand my thoughts here. Does anyone know of a message forum that by chance, deals with the older Dungeons & Dragons computer games? Specifically the old TSR / SSI ones from the Gold Box Series days?

I've started replaying them from beginning to end. I've only beaten a couple of them (Champions of Krynn, Pool of Radiance, Gateway to the Savage Frontier), and I'd like to finally get through them all in my spare time. Just want to "immerse" myself with others who are going through it as well, and wasn't sure if there was a good forum for them specifically.

    Thanks!

Message me anytime about them. I am a fanatic and have played most more times that I can list. The Savage Frontier and Treasures being my favorite two in the series. I can't tell you how awesome it is to finish off General Vaalgamon and equipment my entire party with +5 weapons with the cloning trick or to have two wizards in Treasures and to finish off whole parties of monsters with duel wielding fireball casters!

  4. I just got an order in of these, and I'm having some trouble with them. The protectors keep bulging in places or otherwise not wanting to keep their unfolded shape. I also have some Studio II boxes that are just slightly too big to fit in the protectors I ordered. Did I miss something on getting these things unfolded properly?

Edit: I think I figured it out. I have to press them all the way opposite of the way they're flattened to make them fit properly. Though yeha, half my Studio II boxes don't fit for whatever reason (poor QA on RCA's end, I'd guess?)

RCA decided to be super special and make two box sizes one only very slightly larger than the other hence the problem you are experiencing. I was trying to collect a list of titles that fit the smaller sleeves that I had made while trying to get the larger ones made as well.

  5. Was curious to see the quality of these shells so I ordered one off of eBay. My observations:

    • They look to be a very faithful knock off of the second generation (picture label) Atari cartridges, with all the pros and cons (depending on your disposition) of that design. Namely: holes in the label side of the cart and three slight indentations on the end label side, plus all the moving parts associated with the dust cover.
    • I don't like all the moving parts of this particular design, but that's just me.
    • I wonder if making a more or less exact replica of the old cartridge design is the "right" thing to do. I guess you can make authentic looking carts, but I kind of like to be able to distinguish new vs vintage. Maybe just me. I guess ordering a color shell would accomplish that.
    • No branding/logos on the shell, which is a big plus.
    • It fits just fine in all my Atari models (light, heavy and jr). Felt a tad tighter in the heavy than a real 2nd gen Atari cart, but not problematically so.

Great shell. Wish they were a tad cheaper.

Thank you for the feedback. As for the price if you buy in quantity the price drops a lot.

  6.

Nice. And pleasantly surprised to see the cost comes down nicely with 10 or more.

I could actually use Coleco shells in quantity, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be worth getting the molds done for those.

How many would you need and how often would you re-order? Assuming same price structure as the Atari 2600 shells.

  7.

Make some for the 7800 and I'm sure you will find many more sales than what you are currently having for those 2600 shells.

2600 shells are a dime a dozen, 7800 ones? Not so much. The demand is much higher for 7800 shells than 2600 shells.

Yes they are common however is it worth your time to strip Atari 2600 shells of their labels and clean them up when new ones are for sale for cheap? Its certainly an individual question.

  9. I received my O2 protectors the other night and you can absolutely add me to the list of those thrilled with these Odyssey2 protectors! My console protector should be waiting for me today when I get home. Thanks a ton for making these!

I don't want to derail this thread with non-Odyssey stuff but I wasn't sure where else to mention this (as I didn't see a thread in the Jag subforum) - I also ordered a set of Jaguar CD protectors. I'm sure you're probably aware of it, but they don't fit the boxes for the three ReadySoft games (BrainDead 13, Dragon's Lair, and Space Ace). Those are just slightly larger (in terms of both width and depth) than the rest of the library. Might be worth a note on the item page.

I will see what can be done.

  10. I swear every time I look under the console when I dust my stuff, at least one of the console's feet had somehow moved around. Just now my Intellivision 2's feet somehow moved sideway almost 4 inches from original spot. Before that, the feet off my Commodore 1541 somehow ended up under my Commodore 128D. My 128D had not moved for a few years and the feet was on the disk drive when I dusted them last a year ago.

Some older joystick controllers like NES Advantage also have the feet creep. Any suggestion or idea? Gremlins moving it around? And what's usually a good replacement brand that I can get to replace feet that has gotten lost or the glue no longer works?

I had some made for the NES Advantage and NES Front Loader Console if either is useful to you

  11. Great quality for both the sleeve and the cart holder insert.

    FYI's

No notch in the paper sleeve on one side (the side opposite of the seam) to help with overlay insertion and removal.

Paper sleeve is tighter fit than the original. But still nice to have.

Cart holder insert material thickness is slightly thicker than original era holders. A plus in my book for longer term wear.

Cart holder insert needs a side edge trim to fit perfectly. Not a biggie. But making the trim could be a challenge for some to do so in a neat and clean fashion.

Still,,, a win for both to have them available.

Thanks to MortoffGames for taking on these projects.

    Good to know
