I don't even know if I would want to delve into that project, aren't the new jag controllers being made have some kind of compatibility with the 5200? I'm not entirely sure, maybe it was some kind of connector/adapter/dongle. either way, if i did anything with a 5200 would be redesigning that thing from the ground up, cause, YUK!

I may have 2 left. I had a few extra shells, I'll let everyone know here when I put them up on http://itsallgeek3d.com But if you, or anyone else, misses the last ones. In a month or so i'll have more. Just PM me with the subject "7800 Controller Waiting List" so I can easily start a running tally. You'll get first info when the next batch is ready! Also I have about 10 v1.2 PCBs that i'll be putting up on the shop as well... keep a lookout.- 134 replies

Wow you guys! This is amazing, I'm 2-3 controllers away from being SOLD OUT! Thank you so much!! Your controllers went in the mail today. Also for everyone who ordered the controller couplings they will be in the mail tomorrow! I basically have unlimited of these, so they won't sell out. I am already working on the controller batch #3, but china sort of closes down during this time of year for holiday. It will be the beginning of March before the parts come in. Thanks again!- 134 replies

Atari 7800 / 2600 / SMS NES style controllers V1.2
DanthWader replied to DanthWader's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Yeah, I feel the same way. That's the main reason why we just went with the standard NES plastic injection molded shells and just the 3D printed label. The label is printed face down on a smoooooth surface so it feels nice and smoooooth! I just like saying smooooth. Smoooooooth- 134 replies

Atari 7800 / 2600 / SMS NES style controllers V1.2
DanthWader posted a topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
After selling well over 200 controllers I am working toward having these manufactured fully in china and packaged properly. This will take some time to sort through companies, in the mean time we are putting the store on hiatus eventually closing the etsy store due to fees. If I do manage to complete this task I will most likely find another store (or another way) of selling these controllers. Maybe amazon? Who know at this point. I can still have PCBs made if there is still enough interest. I'm also working on upgrading my printer that currently has 1200 hours on it we will sell 3D printed atari carts and label on AA. Just DM me and I can give you a quote! Thanks again for all of your interest!! The Atari 7800/2600 Controllers KITS ARE OUT OF STOCK! Fully assembled controllers OUT OF STOCK! How hard could a dock be? seriously I could have a prototype done in a few hours and 3D printed immediately. W/130K It would be custom injection molded in a few weeks... Just let me know....

You're not the first person to mention the flex circuit in the 5200 controller to me, I personally have not torn into a 5200 controller. Doesn't Best have some kind of "gold" replacement. Not sure if he means Gold as in the metal or "Gold" as a tier.

Omg Commander keen!! I’ve completely forgotten about that game, one of my first PC games next to lemmings on an old ms dos system.

I've been hard at work! I've got a little tease here... I will have an official Marketplace post soon! Thanks for your patience everyone!

I've made a few changes, added mounting holes, added "supports" to rear controller clips that will need to be removed (for printing purposes) I basically redesigned the base to make it more filament friendly and added bits of strength all the way around. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2767791 I will sell these, I'll have a master post in the market place maybe tomorrow for these and my controllers. maybe a few other things. Ohh, I printed in black ABS, I'll get some pics up. I don't have an enclosure which makes printing ABS a struggle. It's durable, but I printed in a low resolution (.35mm layer height). I think PLA has hit a good quality these days and I still feel the PLA is really durable. I'll try and make that an option to choose PLA over ABS. Printing in PLA cuts HOURS off printing time.

This is awesome, I have an extra sears heavy I thought about doing this to. I also have an extra xbox one shell I thought about putting it in just not sure how to deal with the carts, maybe ribbon the socket to the front...? who knows maybe in the future.

it weighs about 160 Grams... sounds like a good deal about $16...

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2767791 here is the .stl file its still in Alpha phase. I have yet to print this version, I upgraded the back of the coupling and haven't printed this out yet to test tolerances. I can upload an .obj file of the same thing if anyone could improve this design. It could use a little tweeking everywhere. If you do print please comment and mark that you "Made This" if you have a thingiverse account if not don't bother.

7800 Purple? Interesting. I have black ABS I was going to try and print this out of. I do not have purple.
-
Ah, I followed the link in the 7800 forum and didn’t realize I was in the 5200 forum, more of a response to the 7800 coupling. Also, they have a 5200 coupling on thingiverse.com. I will post mine there as well.
-
looks like he and I designed the 7800 coupling at the same time...
-
Holes, what size do you think would be good? placement? all four corners?
-
Ah, I wish I could have seen this before spending 5 hours in CAD... But I did my own version of the 7800 coupling.. Maybe we can swap .STLs? My fit could be better and I also revised the back "clips"
