Shemp wrote: would you just shutup already... Dude, do u think anything I said makes sense? U all seem very defensive in here? Maybe what I said is the truth? Would u rather play Troy Aikman Football or Madden 2003 over the internet??????? Come on dude... The Jag has some good games, but it wasn't supported enough to have a quality library. I love the Atari 5200/7800, but for me to say it's better than PS1/PS2 or Xbox is totally ridiculous... I don't sit in the other forums and whine about which is better: the 5200 or Colecovision, I have BOTH... They both had bad and good qualities... Admit it for once that other systems are better than the Jag, maybe u can then call yourself a TRUE gamer....

Maybe the truth is something that needs to be heard in here once in awhile? Remember, criticism can be good, u are not always right...

Hey Kevincal, it's a matter of what u like and don't like. U can be a diehard JAG fan, but still like other systems as well... If I had my choice between Troy Aikman Football and Madden 2003 or NFL 2K3, I would definetly play Madden or NFL... If I had a choice to play no golf game on Jag to Tiger Woods 2003, I would play Tiger Woods. If I had a choice between no baseball game on the Jag to World Series 2K3 or High Heat, I would pick one of those games... I mean, it seems like everyone wants to argue about the Jag???? What is there to argue about??? It has good and bad games, like any system... Just enjoy what is out there for this system... This is why I say every time u come to the Jag forum there's some type of argument going on??? It's ok to defend against wrong comments, but this gets stupid after awhile!!! To argue senselessly over what is better or not, really isn't what true gaming is about... It's ok every once in a lifetime to accept negative criticism, u might learn something from that person... I mean, let's say ok Gary, what would u rather have: A Jag or a PS2? Actually, I would want both! Each system offers good and bad games... To say the Jag is THE best system ever, is being very shallow minded... Open your mind to other people's thoughts and ideas, u may learn something. Look at this post from Gunstar: Give me a break! You're so FULL of it! Yeah, go back...I go to the 5200 and 7800 forums all the time, even if I don't post there as much, and the SAME EXACT WHINING goes on there too! It's just between 5200 vs. Colecovision and 7800 vs. NES/SMS! Even the 2600 forum gets the 2600 vs. Intellivision and Odyssey2! People come here and claim things that aren't true, so those of us who have all the systems and all the good games and really KNOW what's what, tell them so! Plain and simple. I mean, such a very shallow opinion by Gunstar: People come here and claim things that aren't true, so those of us who have all the systems and all the good games and really KNOW what's what, tell them so! Plain and simple. Ok, because he has ALL the systems & ALL the good games & he REALLY knows what's what, does that make him a Videogame genious? Is he a Jag spokeperson? Does he know everything about the Jag? What makes him know What's What? Again, would u rather play Troy Aikman Football or Madden 2003? The Jag has good games and bad games. Whether u want to hear it or not, the Jag is a piece of videogame history. Just like any other system, it's something to cherish... Who cares what system is better, enjoy what u have...

Gunstar wrote: There may not be anything of this sort going on there CURRENTLY, that can be seen on the first page or two, but they are there! I, however don't feel like searching pages to find these arguements. Feel free to check yourself. I know what I've read in the past and your saying it doesn't exist doesn't make it so. I can deny the the earth is round until I'm blue in the face, but it doesn't change the facts. Dude, just drop the subject! My facts come from over 25 years of playing and collecting Atari systems and games.... Class is now dismissed......

Great news Dutchman, keep us informed!!!!!!!!!!

Good way of putting it kevincal. Just enjoy whatever system you have. Alot of magazines from the 80's were negative towards all Atari systems. I haven't put much into my jag collection, but I enjoy the games I do have: AvsP, Tempest, Missile Command, Defender are all great games... Just like any system released by Atari, besides the 2600, it was never given the chance to compete with other companies. A half-assed effort to support these systems by those in charge at that time. I cringe at the prototypes being released now for the 5200. God, what were they thinking back then??? Not to release these games to the public was pure stupidity. The jaguar was never heard of when it was released. No support, no publicity, no third party support. Sounds like another Atari story- the 7800. It's great to see people still support these systems and enjoy whatever is out there. Thanks to companies like Songbird, Mean Hampster and here at Atari Age for releasing games and supporting these systems. You can't change the past, only make the future better for all gamer's...

If I want to come in here to get some info. about the jag, all I see is: The jag is better than Neo, the jag is better than 3DO, the jag is better than PS2, the jag is better than Xbox, the jag is better than a pc...... Thunderbird isnt making anymore Battlesphere carts, whine after whine after whine... Give the guy a break. Its his hobby, not a full-time job... Enjoy your system for what it is... A great product from Atari. Like a bunch of babies in here... Can I hear a Wah! Wah! Systems owned: Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Atari Jaguar Intellivision Colecovision NES Sega Genesis 32x Dreamcast PS2 Gameboy Advanced Fanman of all systems....

I look in the jag forum every once in awhile and all I see is people whining about what the jaguar is or isn't.... Who cares if its 8,16,32,64,128 bit, and so on!!!! If u like it play it!!!! Sounds like a bunch of kids over here fighting over a toy! Everyone has there own likes and dislikes. No wonder I stay in Atari 2600, 5200, 7800 forums.... Class dismissed...

Just seeing if anyone knows about the new 7800 games that Atari 7800.com was gonna offer? I have sent numerous e-mails to them and all you get is excuse after excuse! These games were gonna be out by October, 2002... Show me the goods!!! Justin says he only has time to work on this website part-time? Why even start up a website that offers products and they are never released? I understand going to college and all, but at least give us some good news here. Your thoughts guys?????

Count me in for one also Chad! Great job! garyh917@yahoo.com

If u can afford it, lol!!!!!!

Hey John, keep doing what you're doing man! I should have a copy of Combat 2 and Final Legacy coming from you! Can't wait to get these 2 games... You are doing now what Atari should've done back in the 80's, support this great machine!!! Without guys like you, Ronen, Ron and all other homebrewer's, we would never be able to play these games! To play new games plus prototype games that were never released makes me feel like I have a brand new system with the 5200. To pay over $100 for the prototype version of these games is alot of money. To pay $25- $30 is much more reasonable. Keep in mind too John that we have a horrible economy and a war going on. Things are tough on everyone. I would love to purchase all the repro carts and Haunted House, but money is very tight at the moment. Things will get better! Give us updates every once in awhile concerning Irati's Quest. A new screenshot here and there. When I saw the new screenshots from Adventure 2, I just about had a personal moment, lol! Gets me all fired up to see such a work of art in progress! Being 38, I've grown up with this system since childhood. No matter what other systems I buy, this will always be my fav. Keep up the good work guys, us "OLD" folks gotta stick together....
-
Hey Ron, Adventure 2 looks unbelievable... I bought Koffi and I love that cute, little game! Once I get my copy of Adventure 2, I might have to track the owner of this game and have him autograph my cart! Great job Ron!!!

I have had my Dreamcast for over a year now, no problem... Awfully loud though! Another system that died before it's time... Did Mr. Tramiel have anything to do with the Dreamcast going under, lol.

Hey guys, just wondering how far anyone has gotten on this game? I can't even get through level 1... This game is really hard!!! Kinda like Water Ski, almost impossible. Froggo sure made some challenging games for the 7800...

Hey, thanks for the info Sauron. I understand a small company trying to meet supply and demand... What I dont like is people who are not collectors or gamers that get on E-bay and know that they will make $$$$$$$$$, then sell the game just for profit.... These arent true collectors, just got $ signs in their eyes... Very much degrades the hobby in the worst way. Thats where the price gets jacked up to $500-$600 for 1 game. I dont care HOW good a game is, or how rare it is, or how much supply and demand is for a product, how many people can afford that game? A few hundred? It caters to those wanting the game bad enough, they will pay anything to get it... I make good money at my job, but priorities in life come first. Would love to see How good this game is, but my money just cant be spent in that way. No matter how good a game is, you will play it, get tired of it, then put it in a shoe box for years!!! After you get over the initial RUSH of the game, it will get put away. Hopefully this game is the saving grace for the Jaguar. At least the gamers and the Homebrew companies are willing to put time and money into a product they believe in... God knows Atari never did for most of their systems... Poor Atari..........

Goatdan quote: Your logic simply isn't there. What logic is there behind spending $250-$600 for 1 game? Yes I do have a jaguar also Anyone else share my thoughts also?

Geez..... How many houses do you guys own, lol? Here's my systems: ATARI: 5200, 7800, Jaguar Colecovision Intellivision RCA Studio 2 Nintendo: NES, Gameboy Advanced Sega: Genesis, Dreamcast Sony: Playstation, PS2

Just imagine if these games would have at least 1 prototype floating around that guys like Mean Hamster could make repro's of. The 5200 definetly died before it's time... Tutankham Tapper Star Trek 3 Spy Hunter Satan's Hollow Omega Race Food Fight Galaga
-
Does anyone know of any of these proto's were ever made or any rumours out there as to their existence? I've seen them listed in Electronics Games magazines that I have... Just curious guys? Tutankham Tapper Star Trek 3 Spy Hunter Satan's Hollow Omega Race Food Fight Galaga

Hey guys, not sure about neo geo games, never thought about collecting for that system... I do have an Atari 5200. 7800, Jaguar, Intellivision, Colecovision, NES, Genesis, Playstation, Dreamcast, PS2, and Gameboy Advanced. Most of my Atari 5200 & 7800 games were purchased new years ago before there was a set price that each game may be worth. I have 3 of almost every game on the 7800, including Tank Command, Rampage, Double Dragon, Pete Rose Baseball, Planet Smashers, etc... I did purchase a 7800 signed Klax from RESQsoft for $40... Well worth the money for that price. Thanks to Lee Krueger for that release. Also, its great to see the guys at Mean Hamster & Atari Age releasing prototype reproduction games for the 5200!!! These games only go for $25 or $40... Not a few $100. I purchased a Meteorites & the Masterplay interface for the 5200 a few years ago. They are worth over $100 each, but will never be sold by me unless of a dire financial emergency. I can buy new Dreamcast games for about $10- 20, not a few $100. You can buy The Italian Job for Playstation for $10... A very good game for only $10... Now for a bargain, look no further than Madden 2003. One of the best games ever graphically. Its looks like a real football game is being played. Only sells for about $40, not a few $100... I guess I come from the old school being 38 years old... Look for bargains when you can! Gunstar has a great attitude about being frugal and buy things and fix them up! Then splurge every once in awhile on a game or two... Great way of looking at life also Gunstar!

Just making observations on pricing for new games for this system. Very true that Atari 5200 and 7800 games dont sell for this price, which I mainly collect for. I still dont understand the logic of a game for a system that is no longer produced, but yet sells for 5x the amount of a new game for a new system( gamecube, PS2, xbox). I guess it takes more for smaller companies to produce these games. Look at Madden 2003. Never has a game been produced which such graphics that the game looks like a real football game. But it is made by a huge company like EA Sports which can release MASS Quantities of the game for only $50. I think $50 is too much, lol. Now, Madden 2003 is a game that even if you quite playing it, you can pick it up 5 years from now and say, Wow! Again, just using Madden 2003 as an example. I have games that are well worth over $100 apiece, but you would never get that amount from E-bay or anywhere. I keep them for my own enjoyment. Which is why I have never heard of 1 game selling for over $250. Plus with the economy being the way it is, makes the price even more unimaginable. IF YOU WANT IT YOU PAY FOR IT... I guess. Alot of gamers cant afford a game like this due to its cost. This is what is puzzling to me...

Here's my observation guys....
-
Lots and lots of Jaguar games sell for more than that. An original copy of BattleSphere in good condition frequently sells for $230-$250 on eBay. If they are in mint condition I've seen them sell for $300 or more. An autographed copy will get you $500-$1500. If u pay $250 to $300 for a game that is for a system that no longer exists, god bless you. Totally ridiculous if you ask me... Long- time Atari 5200 & 7800 collector here so I know what games sell for and what they are worth... I dont care how good Battlesphere is, someone is getting seriously ripped off, lol...

You can actually afford $70-80 for a Jag game???? I think its crazy to pay that much for a dead systems games. Price gouging at its best!!!! Not worth it when PS2 and xbox games are mostly $50 brand new..
