That looks great! I love the Carmen games. The TI also has a kind of similar game, "Who's behind the Mexican UFOs".

I don't need A.I. to make me lazier... I have alcohol and the burden of life in general to do that for me

Wasn't there software that used a "security dongle" that did something similar (connected 2 pins on the joystick port)[may have been the cassette port? Can't remember]?

I never did get into D&D "proper" (with other players), but i am big fan of gamebooks like Fighting Fantasy, Sagard The Barbarian, etc. and stuff like Tunnels and Trolls solo adventures. I have played a couple different D&D solo modules, and was even tempted to get something like Mythic's "Game master Emulator", but i got too many other things to steal my time.

Its been about 10 years ago that i sold all my classic Nintendo and Sega stuff. Back when i was still doing DS homebrew, it was with Datel's Games n Music. I remember DS Linux, and thinking how neat that was. Never would have thought a TI emulator would be available. Almost makes me want to go get a DS again just to try this out. 🙂

-8 here now, with a high of 9 today. With wind chill, it feels like -29. We got 3 inches of snow yesterday. Water lines at work were froze, so everyone sent home. Next week looks better though, with temps back up in the 30-45 range in the daytime.

I think this place could use a little more Christmas cheer. So, on that note:

Spiritual underpants, you say? Are these Mormon ghosts?

What ever the alternative ends up being, i hope it is just a matter of plugging it into the side port. I'd also settle for some sort of Raspberry-Pi hat/daughter board with a SID (real or simulated) that communicates back and forth with the TI via TIPI.

Js99er is good, but Classic99 was my first TI99 emulator, so I just keep using it. I do occasionally use js99er on my phone at work, but If I'm home, it's real iron or Classic99.

Thats a shame 😞 At least an attempt was made.

What retro or technical book are you currently reading?
jrhodes replied to dhe's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I guess this counts? I'm currently reading through a english translation of the manual for the Nintendo Famicom's "Family Basic" that i found on the famicomworld forums. -
What TI-99/4A-adjacent systems are you tempted to explore?

I'd love to get a Geneve setup someday. -
I figure this group if anyone would probably know, and i can't think if anywhere else to ask: The electronic "Monopoly PlayMaster" unit from 1982, that acted as a dice alternative and also added occasional bank-buy-backs of randomly picked color groups every so often... Has anyone ever reverse engineered this thing or attempted to replicate it via emulation?

I played this again today in classic99. I did not notice anything strange until level 3. The screen corrupted and locked up the ti. (This was right before the area with the jumping green turtle-like enemies.) I unmounted the disk image, reset the ti, entered xb, and did CALL FILES(0) and then mounted the disk image, & RUN "DSK1.LOAD". This time i made it to level 5 and did not notice any issues.

Multicolor mode - the mode everybody wants
jrhodes replied to Asmusr's topic in TI-99/4A Development
I would love to see multicolor mode used in more TI homebrews. -

If the GPIO is the same pin out, I would say "maybe".

I was trying out SuperMario.dsk in js99er, and got to the second level. I got this error as pictured. Have not yet tried it on real TI or in Classic99.
