5200 Activision, do you consider the ports lazy?
TeddyBear89 replied to Cobra Kai's topic in Atari 5200
Without ever trying it myself (and probably never will either) I cannot think of a game less suited for the 5200 controllers than H.E.R.O. Ignorance is bliss - I'll just have to take your word on this. And not to cause trouble but Intellivision's River Raid, Dreadnaught Factor and Beamrider > the Atari 5200's ports of the same. -

For Sale: Atari 5200 Masterplay CIB $230.00 -SOLD Atari 5200 Lot - Wizard of Wor, Mountain King, Blue Print and River Raid $45.00 -SOLD Super Chef Burgertime CIB $100.00 CIB Masterplay: Box is in very good condition and comes with unit, instructions and second button. Tested this yesterday using an original 2600 joystick playing 5200 Pac Man and Berzerk with pin-point control. Having a fully-functional 5200 controller is a must when using the Masterplay. FYI - I have never used the second button for this and it looks like it is possible that it has never been used (judging by how neatly it is coiled up) 5200 Lot of 4 games (cart only). It took a few times to get Blue Print to work correctly but game does indeed work well CIB Super Chef Burgertime: everything is in excellent condition Comes from a smoke/pet-free home. Paypal only; I will pick up the shipping costs. CONUS shipping only (sorry). All sales final. Any questions please PM me.

I am a huge fan of Double Dunk and how it offers a solo player unrelenting challenge. Very, very underrated in my book

This "missing corner mystery" extends way past the very popular Qbert, Frogger and Popeyes that Parker Brothers sold. A brief search on Ebay shows that it was happening with several other games as well. I too doubt that product protection-minded parents actually cut and mailed in the proof just to ensure their warranty. The mentioned Super Cobra contest (wasn't the grand prize an actual flight jacket?), win a Popeye arcade game....but what else warranted the desecration of these manuals?
-
Not to hijack the thread but since you guys have your thinking caps on about such things.......what was the Parker Brothers promotion that required cutting and mailing in the proof of purchases from the printed manuals? Several of my original Atari 2600 and Intellivision Parker Bros game manuals have had the proofs cut and for the life of me cannot recall why. My mother worked in the electronics department at a Kmarts in the 1980's so I have no doubt it was some type of free cartridge promo. I know there was a Popeye contest (where you could win the actual arcade game) but wouldn't think that would involve sending in Qbert, Frogger, etc. proof of purchases. Any help? This is my life's last unsolved mystery!

Weekend bumpity bump......While cart only is preferred, I would certainly be interested in a CIB offer as well. I once had this game years ago and wonder if I gave up on it too soon. Afterwards I became addicted to Leaderboard on the C-64 so I am wishing to give Mean 18 another go-around.

Now I fully get the gist of this thread.......make an offer and for that offer to be sent to the seller Ebay forces you into committing to buy by authorizing the payment thru your Paypal. The funds are immediately obligated and you have to wait for the seller to respond. Slow, not dumb here......I think I can see the unfairness issue with those that have low Paypal funds being prevented from other transactions until a seller responds. I can also see how sellers would like this feature to prevent fuckery from buyers who make offers without ever intending to pay. I wonder if the next step for Ebay will be to demand the same compliance on just bidding on an auction. Not sure they could, given how bids can be increased but with these drastic changes who knows? Man, I miss the beautiful Ebay of yesteryear! RIP

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... Played my original pirated copies of Hardball! and 4th and Inches today and have always admired these graphics from the groups that did the deed.....the Eagle and The Dark Side of the Moon live on! Still amazing after 37 years......Just wanted to give an overdue prop to whoever designed these still-sweet graphics

What a sweet group of photos these are Atari_Bill. You have a bunch of 40 & 50-ish year old dudes drooling at these pics like it was that topless Samantha Fox poster from 1987 lol...... It is funny......My eyes immediately gazed towards those H.E.R.O carts too. While I prefer the better-looking C-64 and Colecovision versions of this fantastic game I still appreciate where it started from. Best of luck on your future sales....buy with confidence as Atari_Bill is a fantastic AA member

Bump. I need Irish whiskey and green beer money for next week Thursday!

Face Off! for the Commodore 64 never gets enough love for how amazing it is and all the features it offers (leagues and standings, playoff seedings, customizing and creating players, trades, etc.) Astonishing stuff for 1987! And best of all - this sweet graphic when you when you win the GHL Cup.....
-
An excellent point as well. I'm a big fan of Double Dunk and Super Football and will be optimistic that they would have be great 7800 games. Certainly galaxies better than the other lame 7800 sport games........

C-64 Jeopardy (the Sharedata game)
TeddyBear89 replied to TeddyBear89's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
Just discovered that Wheel of Fortune is pretty sweet as well. I am really enjoying playing these TV game show games on the C-64. Good tip on the other Jeopardy games - I have ordered the second edition -
I have been enjoying playing this game with my morning coffee lately. I have played about 20 games so far without seeing any duplicate questions. Does anyone know how many different games that this disk offers?
