  2. The fact that I was inquiring about a SEVEN year old game could be evidence enough that if you feed this squirrel once, it likely won't come to your back door again. Got plenty enough of technical knowledge on lots of other things - I just have no interest on these downloads, flashcarts, etc. as I have enough original gaming to last me until way past the time I shall kick it. That said, here's to nice sentiments, Ted
  3. For life in general I do agree with your original premise.....to paraphrase: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" I just asked for one damn game. I've got two C-64s and 3 fully-working 1541's. I requested one incredible conversion of an amazing sequel to one of the true classics. I am in my early 50's and still get a thrill out of typing LOAD"*"8,1 on original hardware. I have hundreds of disks that to all of our astonishment still work perfectly after four decades. I handle my C-64 gaming very well, thank you very much. I respect ALL of you guys that program, create, provide the diagnostics on problems, etc. for these old computers but this comment can simply suck it. Be better next time, Ted
  4. This is beautiful prose lol Issue resolved - thank you OLD CSI!
  5. In the U.S. - zip code 48082 Would gladly send a nice Paypal payment to any kind soul that would be willing to go through with making & mailing me a disk - please PM me!
  6. Shot in the dark here - any suggestions on how I could obtain this game on a 5.25" diskette to use with my 1541 drive? Total old-school fella here with no knowledge or inclination to use a downloading device. I'm just seeking a way to get a fully-working game on a floppy. Sorry for the 7 year bump......not sure how I overlooked this incredible sequel to one of the greatest games
  7. Speaking for the old-school cartridge-only folk.......if Super NFL Football was included I may have to look into this flash cart thingy. I still think that INTV's Super Pro Football is a better game but enjoyed Super NFL as well. I just didn't care for the useless and bulky ECS required to play it so I got rid of both a while back. I know that you could save plays on cassette but come on - who would ever really use this feature? It is very awesome of Dave to be doing these versions so others can experience these rarer games.
  8. Based on your last tally (Current Collection - 475 games Total invested - $2209!!!) your PPG (Price Per Game) is approximately $4.65 each...... When you start acquiring some of the above-mentioned titles, those averaging math lessons taught in junior high will really come in handy as your PPG is going to skyrocket lol Opinions will vary but I'd suggest paying the premium that Mines of Minos and Boing! command - they are two outstanding 2600 games. Keep on truckin'
  9. I never understood the angle of stamp collecting but it just seems rather boring and without any set guidelines (aka a checklist for completion of a set, series....whatever). But I admit my ignorance and hence retract stamp collecting from this tirade and apologize to whom I may have offended. Baseball cards however.......to all those fat sexless dudes who ruined the hobby in the 1980's can bite it! I hope that you are still choking on your worthless 1985 Topps Dwight Goodens! And for the recent era of the hobby (the advent of $3.00 pack of cards) can choke on it to. I know things got confusing in 1981 (with Fleer and Donruss releasing cards) but I am sad that this hobby was ruined years ago by greed. What is missing now (unlike Crazy Climber's quest) is the challenge of collecting a whole series of anything. The thrill of obtaining that final piece (example....unless I am blind Crazy needs several Sega 2600 title like Tapper, Congo Bongo, etc....but when that day comes baby!) is a great feeling once it occurs. Kids today have little comprehension of collecting and it makes me sad. Mr. Climber's display looks quite cool and his quest for collecting I think was the original point. Get off my lawn, Still love my 1989 Fleer Billy Ripken card, Ted
  10. As one of many followers of this thread (over 6500 views!) just wanted to say how cool it has been to see the progress. Those carts look awesome just being displayed. Beats stamp and baseball card collecting in my book!
  11. I'm always a fan of these types of threads as opinions can change over time and it is interesting to read the supposed defense of the indefensible. Space Hawk just blows the worst. I'm still pissed off at spending $27.99 for it at my favorite K Mart decades ago. And to the Q*Bert hater.....come on! Inty Q*Bert is a great port and makes great use of the disc controller.
  12. A nice video.....and I too agree with Turbo as # 1. A couple comments - The footage used for Q*bert is actually Q*bert's Cubes. And if you loved Bump N Jump, you should try it with the steering wheel module. It allows perfect pinpoint steering control with no drifting (unlike Turbo)
  13. Just on the slim chance that you are not aware of this site......it is the most comprehensive C-64 game site ever https://www.lemon64.com And you've addressed the most important public service announcement one can say about the Commodore 64 - do not ever use the original PSU!
  14. Instead of water next time I'd suggest a spot of Jameson or other preferred alcohol........it makes being a Lions fan a little more tolerable ?
  15. And of course the first thing I notice is the Detroit Lions logos - dumb question.....are those just coffee tumblers or cups? Your 7800 marquee looks very cool too. I hope whoever takes advantage of your kind offer can do something with the cart - Water Ski is an aggravatingly fun game. Even though I've gotten past the first round numerous times I always feel a bit of gaming satisfaction each time I do. As for the other two levels, it'll never happen for me.
  16. For sale: Odyssey 2's Kill the Attacking Aliens (cart only) and Frozen Fort (2nd edition with box, manual and cart) - both for $65.00. Both games work perfectly on my NTSC Magnavox Odyssey 2. If you have The Voice connected, you will need to remove it to play KTAA. Also, still available is the unloved VHS Best of the WWF Volumes 1 & 2 and the Big Event - $26.00 for all three. Paypal only; I will pick up the shipping (CONUS only). Games come from a smoke/pet-free home and will be securely and safely packaged for shipping. If interested please PM me
  17. Bump......Lions still winless and I still am seeking a trade. To sweeten the pot I will include an active $15.00 White Castle gift card (seriously)......... PM me if interested
  18. I do have a framed tribute to the 2008 Lions in my man cave - I did venture out twice that season to Ford Field. What I find most memorable was Kevin Smith's rookie season stats......976 rushing yards for a 0-16 team. Just needed 24 more yards for the 1000 plateau. And isn't 0-8 much more interesting than 1-7? Now every Lions game is must-see until (if?) they grab a win. ?
  19. For TRADE: I am seeking a fully working Playstation Tecmo Super Bowl game with instruction manual. Will trade you for my fully working Sega Genesis Tecmo Super Bowl II Special Edition (cartridge only). Located in U.S. only, please. I am amazed at how these 25 year batteries still work in the Tecmo games - This fall, I played a full season with this cartridge as the Lions going 16-0 and winning the Super Bowl. None of my Genesis Madden games can save a season any longer....... If interested please PM me and no Detroit Lions jokes please.......
  20. A suggestion - inform co-workers that you are an old school video game collector and if they have anything boxed up and stored away that you'd be interested. This worked very well for me (after the strange "you still play Atari?!?!?" looks and comments) and netted me a few nice items for free or on the very cheap. While we are all big fans of these golden oldies most other folk view them as clutter that they just can't seem to throw out. Results may vary but best of luck on your very cool quest!
  21. Like The Force, my video game collection is now in perfect balance and I doubt I'll be selling anything else in the foreseeable future. That said, if anyone comes across this post and wants the WWF videos the price is $25.00 and I'll get the shipping. They're already packaged up ready for shipment so I'll just set 'em on the shelf for now. But please, if you're reading this in 2025 don't necro-bump the thread. Happy Halloween and regards to all, Ted
  22. WWF videos price lowered to $23.00 and I'll pay the shipping (CONUS only) Offer good until 12:00pm EST today only!!!!!! I gotta go to the post office any ways, and you want to relieve the glory days of the Moon Dogs and Jimmy Snuka! It is the ultimate win-win!!!!!!
  23. For sale are the following items. All come from a smoke/pet-free home. I will pick up the shipping (CONUS shipping only) and all items will be safely and securely packaged. Paypal payment only; due to age of these items all sales final but are being accurately described by me.
