Maze-A-Tron Super Pro coming soon
TeddyBear89 replied to intvdave's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Cloudy Mountain doesn't need any fixes but the potential for enhancements is exciting. 1. Make the King's Crown into 4-5 pieces to be spread out and collected over random caverns 2. Introduce a new distinctive monster that is silent and requires multiple arrows to kill. But it disappears (and relocates to a different part of the cavern) with each arrow shot successfully made 3. Certainly making this game Intellivoice compatible would be awesome too I'm sure I will think of other things but thanks for this morning's hypothetical "what-if?" thought of the day! -
Commodore 64 and 2600 Jr. sold.........thanks to all who inquired. It is good to know that those who can possibly do a little maintenance on these old relics to keep them humming are still interested to do so!

For sale are the following items. All come from a smoke/pet-free home and will be safely and securely shipped. I will pick up the postage (shipping to CONUS only). I have done my best in explaining the condition of these items but due to their issues all sales are final. If there are any further questions or photos needed please PM me. Commodore 64 (unit only) $45.00 SOLD - this is my original Commy and I am the only owner. Due to my ignorance I kept using the original PSU until recently and now this unit only has video in black and white. I have no inclination (nor skills) to try to remedy this. Console is in fantastic cosmetic shape with the keyboard fully functional. Kids, never ever use an original PSU! Buy a modern power supply! Atari 2600 Jr. (w/original box, power supply, RF cable and manual) $45.00 SOLD- system works OK. There is an issue that I will try to describe using the Pitfall II cartridge as the example: when pushing the controller button to make Harry jump the color shading of the tree changes slightly (but noticeable). As you get further down into the caverns (or any darker background) you don't notice it nearly as much. I am sure it has something to do with the power supply/inlet when you push the joystick button. That said, system does work and is in fantastic cosmetic condition (the clear plastic seal is still on the silver strip). Plus the box has a Toys R Us price sticker for that nostalgic touch. Sega Genesis Model 1 (w/power supply, A/V cable and working controller) $35.00 - Nothing wrong with this one as these things are built like tanks. Very good cosmetic condition Best of the WWF Vol. 1 and 2 and The Big Event VHS tapes w/original clamshell cases $33.00 - tapes all recently viewed and are in good condition

Speculation going on with Vectrex consoles?
TeddyBear89 replied to classicgamesnut's topic in Vectrex
It is kind of like how every kid deserves a puppy, every classic gamer enthusiast needs to experience the Vectrex. There is nothing like it and you'll never forget it. Minestorm by itself almost makes the sizeable purchase worth it. But I would never, ever want to ship (or be shipped) one of these delicate babies......local pick up only! -
Intellivision Ebay Roundup
TeddyBear89 replied to IntellivisionDude's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
It is now up to $760.......even if that Super Pro Intellivision system was in mint shape with box and inserts (instead of the junker it appears to be) this is nuts. It is a little suspicious that a bidder with only 1 feedback is contributing to running the bidding up but still.....I am fascinated by this auction. Cue up the Michael Jackson eating popcorn meme! -

SOLD Selling my collection of loose Atari 2600 Carts
TeddyBear89 replied to Waterborn's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
There are a couple of Parker Brothers carts that I cannot quite make out. Certainly if one is a Mr. Do's Castle or Star Wars The Arcade Game that would make the lot a bit more attractive. No interest here as I am in downsize mode myself but best of luck on a sale. -
This is cool stuff! Especially from the Pirates "Lumber and Lightning" era. Coolest player nickname ever was Mike "The Hit Man" Easler.

Can someone please explain why Super Baseball exists?
TeddyBear89 replied to Room 34's topic in Atari 2600
Last night, I played a 10 inning game of Super Baseball against the CPU and once again when batting I was unable to reach first base at all. I just quit out of frustration. Is it even possible to get a hit or walk against the computer in one-player mode? I also played a full 9 inning game of 2600 Real Sports Baseball against the CPU and let the final score stay at 1-0. Obviously you can score runs basically at will against the computer but I do find trying to pitch a perfect game against them to be a somewhat satisfying experience. Having to move your first baseman every time to catch the throw makes for an interesting task. And this is a very nostalgic game for me as I spent many hours in 1983 with it trying to dominate it. I am pretty sure I once scored 100 runs - only to see the score go from 99 to 0. With a few tweaks (like physical pitch control like 5200 Baseball) RS Baseball could be a great game! -
What if the Adam hadn't had issues on release?
TeddyBear89 replied to Compumater's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Through the awesomeness that is the Digital Press site I have been catching up on Video Games magazine (that I somehow missed the first time around) and came across this not-too-favorable Adam review. http://www.digitpress.com/library/magazines/video_games/video_games_apr84.pdf I never had a horse in this race (Commodore 64 all the way for me) but even other gaming mags of the day were somewhat skeptical of the Adam. Still, I always thought the "all in one package" concept of home computing was something to admire. -
I missed Video Games magazine the first time around and find it to be better than Electronic Games and Electronic Fun mags. VG just seemed to be more honest (and skeptical) in their reporting. This issue previews the mighty 5200........thank goodness for Digital Press! http://www.digitpress.com/library/magazines/video_games/video_games_feb83.pdf

Atari 5200 Battlezone and Behind Jaggi Lines Prototype 1-18-84
TeddyBear89 replied to swlovinist's topic in Atari 5200
While hardly germane to this thread any time I see anything about "Behind Jaggi Lines" I immediately think of the dark lecture given to the letter writer in the December 1984 Electronic Games Magazine. -
Not a list but the freakin' awesome Realsports Baseball utilizes both the upper & lower fire buttons.......

This is so bad ass! I had no idea that this was out there. I think Star Castle MUST be played with the overlay but other than reasons already stated here (authenticity, etc.) the overlays are not necessary.

I have always been curious about that Tron joystick. For utter coolness and novelty value it scores a 10. But does it work worth a damn? I dislike the trigger-like button that would take its toll on your index finger after a long playing session. And although I do not know for sure I doubt that controller illuminates when plugged in. But how cool would that be! You gotta love an Ebay listing that reads "Atari Tapes".........

The question of the day award goes to SoundGammon! How come there are no 5200 Imagic games?

Thin Ice - highest level possible?
TeddyBear89 replied to TeddyBear89's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I don't recall seeing a "1" appearing on the screen after my games were over (completing between 11-16 igloos was my usual range) but if I had noticed it I would have probably assumed that it just indicated "player 1". This is cool stuff to know and certainly answers my original inquiry - thank you! -

While I have already posted in the Buy & Sell section I hope I get a little leeway by listing this STONIX for sale here as this is truly an Intellivision-specific masterpiece of a game............... For sale: CIB STONIX. Cartridge is signed by game programmer Arnauld Chevallier. This is the same STONIX that Intellivision Rock Star intvdave had for sale a little while back. Asking $175.00 (PayPal only) and I'll pay for the shipping (CONUS shipping only, sorry). Game comes from a smoke/pet-free home and will be safely and securely packaged for delivery. Please PM me if interested.
