  1. Easiest way, is using SDX with the CON80 and S-VBXE driver. Load DOS, let the drivers load, issue a CON 80, then go to BASIC. I do this with both standard Atari BASIC, as well as Turbo BASIC XL.
  2. No - not at all. Don't twist my words. I am saying this is where the snowflake, safe space, no criticism influx is going to start. Anyone that diverges will be called an old school hater. Dissension will be shut down. You will get in line and only be positive, or you will be silenced.
  3. It's all that hellish interference that broke the networking. It's now rusting the walls!
  4. This is how it starts. Now that the floodgate has been opened for new members via this announcement, just wait until all the safe space needing all inclusive folks join. No more feelings will be able to get hurt. No more criticism will be able to be leveled. Mark my words, this is where it really starts. It's all downhill from here.
  5. Hopefully, it involved the FBI or local authorities, and getting a no-contact order, stalker prevention stuff put in place. After almost 40 years of this shit, I'd say it's about time. Not sure what else will provide the needed reality check.
  6. This pretty much sums it up for me. The multiple lawsuits, going after fan sites, and then hearing Minter himself was not only sued, but prevented from releasing a working VR version of TxK / Tempest 4000, well that is just unforgivable. There is absolutely nothing that this iteration of Atari can do, to wipe that stain away. This isn't a case of "throwing my toys out of the pram" either. Minter carried whatever company he was releasing products for, when it was Atari with the ST, Falcon, Jaguar, or VM Labs, etc. To have a legend such as that pissed on, is completely unforgivable.
  7. What has been stated has been confirmed multiple times by multiple sources. It is an emulation box that doesn't work with Harmony / Melody carts. Therefore, it is essentially a Retron 77 in a nicer case.
  8. Did I not warn of what would happen via the tagging?
  9. That's the most coherent sentence I've ever witnessed you type. Quoting for when it doesn't happen!
  10. I think Big Sexy is shorthand for Cindy? But it couldn't be short hand because Big Sexy has more letters.
  11. I'm curious about the Jaguar logo as well. As far as I know, Hasbro released the system into the public domain around 2000. It would be sort of shitty to go back on that some 20+ years later. However, recent Songbird re-release of Towers-II does not have the Jag logo on it.
  12. Please don't tag him. We don't need begging for more 5200 ports (among other things) in this thread.
  13. Why would anyone think they will put in the work to release stuff for the computers when all they have done so far is continue to rehash old hardware in the cheapest possible way? The new 2600+ is nothing more than a Retron 77, an emulation box that dumps some ROMs and plays them.
  14. Any idea what would cause my 1088XLD to still have spurious key presses (it's never a key that displays onscreen - by this, I mean it doesn't ever type a visible character, but makes a keyclick sound, and any software that has a "press any key to continue" will respond to it). I can whip up a quick test program which will display the value in CH ($02FC) constantly to see if it helps see what is being scanned, if it's random, etc.
  15. You can also check out my Flickr album of the kit I assembled here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/75619516@N06/albums/72177720307232662
  16. While you're looking through the code, would it be possible to discover why bombing your own hangar corrupts the display list?
  17. Hmmmmm - details on why there's a new version? Just a change due to supply chain issues?
  18. Catering for stupidity / the lowest common denominator sadly leads us to where we are today.
  19. I wonder if this is what's been happening in my 1088XLD recently. I'm getting phantom key presses - haven't written a debug program yet to show me which "key(s)" are being "pressed". I will make myself a note to check this setting.
  20. Haha, no longer have a Jag. Good to see that Ebay is consistent in not removing stolen items, bootleg items, etc.
  21. 35 iterations in of the same rehashed shit, and they still can't get it correct? Oh well - we've only had decent 2600 emulation since what - 1995 or 96? Maybe by the 50th anniversary of the 2600, they can get a re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release out that works properly.
