  1. Hi guys.I am also after this game. Do either of you have one to sell? Many thanks
  2. is it my imagination or is there a lot of classic gaming in Seattle? Wow! Thanks for sharing Lee, really appreciate it!
  3. Thanks for the tips Thomas! I'll be sure to amend the information in my review. So the ring does have some effect! Cool!
  4. Ha ha! This is amazing - I was wondering exactly the same thing just yesterday: 'I wonder if there are any unused sprites left over?' Excellent work. This game would have shaken up the 2600 adventure genre if it had seen a release in my opinion: the scope of the game is quite hypnotic for me: always pulling me back to try and find another secret (though of course: there are so few!). Nice work again TJ- if you find anything else: be sure to share! I have recently written my own review (nearly finished) at http://prawnstarproductions.com/articles/LOTR
  5. wow! i remember this! Can't help I'm afraid - but what a blast from the past! Please pm / post here if you find it, thanks!
  6. Hi NESMan- welcome to the boards! Thanks very much for posting this - I'll look forward to trying it
  7. thanks for the detailed explanation Michael. I am even more intrigued. I'm going to have to revisit these games: sounds like Earth is the best place to start!
  8. lovely! How interesting! I have to ask Mike - if you're reading this - how exactly did you play through the other SwordQuest games? I have myself tried playing them (only via roms & emulators - I was a little too young at the time) and really couldn't get off the ground. So- was it pretty much trial and error all the way through, placing objects randomly as you went? Or was there a little more reason than this interview suggest you adopted for the competition version? Thanks!
  9. great to see handy's back! one of my absolute faves when i first got into the whole emulation scene. amazing
  10. as ever stephena - your work is appreciated! Alpha Beam working is the highlight of this release for me. thank you!
  11. hehe ... Foxsolo2000: international man of mystery! On a side note- there are few better examples of the 2600's staying power than to think SQ hit the stores while the SNES' zelda 3 was well into development. Quite the run that system had.
  12. Well... at the risk of sounding like like I'm signing up to a cult here: RT converted me too. After reading this post I went away and dedicated some serious time to the manual & RT's tips section (priceless!) I can't help but think if the following entrees were included in the manual, more people would 'get' this game: - press button while falling to hover (and escape pits quicker) - hitting the bottom with a bump costs life! - press button in '?' zone to scan that area for phone pieces (I'm not convinced this is ever made clear in the booklet- it implies there is always something nearby when you see this symbol) And the only really unfair bits for me are: - random appearences of agent & scientist - can be hard to exit pits even when obeying the 'immediately press left/right' rule. - falling down pits which are at the edge of screens So yeah- I would go so far as to describe this as a top 20 game for me now. I strongly suspect that over half the ET bashers wouldn't even know that this game fits into the Raiders/Adventure/dragonstomper type of game. Are the locations of items in this game randomized each round right? Nut do the phone pieces go back to theplaces you originally collected them from once they are stolen?
  13. great work steph! Hugely appreciate your efforts!
  14. Hi rxd. Please don't take this as rude- but unless you explicitely state that you're not after a roms install as well. you are unlikely to get much support here. With that in mind - I advice you to check out mameworld.net - they have many adverts on mame cabs (a good starting point) - and if you live stateside, some will deliver & build. Regards
