  1. Congrats @bluswimmer for 27, it's very good! I think you'll bet me very soon! Thanks @cimmerian for reviewing the game in the Zero Page Homebrew show. I just watched the recording, and it's always nice and motivating to see other people enjoy a game you made! And congrats on your 25 points highscore! I know the game is difficult - I think I was inspired by Flappy Bird (a game that I enjoyed a lot back in 2013) on that point. My goal was to make players really happy of every score point they earn .
  2. Thanks to all of you for your support, it's very appreciated! I'm glad you enjoy the game (even if it's indeed infuriating at times! ). You are all on a very good start (reach 10 points is an achievement, really!), I'm eager to see how high the new record will be! Protip: a good timing on jumps is often more useful than moving left/right while in air.
  3. Thanks Albert! For those of you who want to try Sheep It Up!, the ROM files are freely available here: https://drludos.itch.io/sheep-it-up-2600 I hope you'll enjoy the game!
  4. Awesome! I'm impressed on how quickly you can pick up a new machine and release a game on it! This is a very good start, I'm looking forward the next versions!
  5. Thanks Albert for the cartridge release! For those who want to test it out, you can also download the ROM files here: https://drludos.itch.io/sheep-it-up-2600 @Al: Can you please add the link to the ROM files to the first post too? Thanks! As far as I know, the current record is still 28 points - can anyone beat it?
  6. I did enjoy the original Game Dev Story on mobile a few years ago (never tried Game Dev Tycoon, but basically it was a PC port of it). If you remember the title of the other game, I'm interested in them, making your own gaming console is a rad game idea!
  7. Thanks! To be honest, several years after, both the SNES and the Genesis are great consoles with good exclusive titles on each side - the best solution is to play them both! It's sad Atari wasn't able to compete in the "16-bits console wars", because that could have make the era even more interesting!
  8. Today is the 30th birthday the Genesis / Megadrive! To celebrate it, here is a new Genesis / Megadrive game titled "30 Years of Nintendon't". As you may have guessed, it's a tribute to the "console wars" of the 90's. As a Sega evangelist, you'll have to convince players to leave their NES console and avoid the SNES because "Genesis does what Nintendon't". How much market share can you earn thanks to your knowledge of the Megadrive / Genesis library? (and also of the NES/SNES one) You can play the game online or download the game ROM here: https://drludos.itch.io/30-years-of-nintendont This game is born of my love of the original "Genesis Does What Nintendon't" ads campaign. I really think they are the best video game ads ever created, and the perfect illustration of the "SEGA Spirit" during the 90's. And what is the best to celebrate the Genesis 30th birthday? Playing it of course! I hope you'll enjoy the game!
  9. Neat! It's a lot of work, but the result looks very cool!
  10. Woaw, thanks a lot for putting such a rich resource online! As a proud owner of a "GB-2000" version, I'm happy to discover that so many games were released on the console (I only have Block Buster on actual cartridge for now). Honestly, it's a shame that the console didn't meet with more success. Although it's nowhere near as good as the Game Boy, it's quite a good clone, and your website shows that some of its games looks interesting. I think it's maybe the best "Game Boy clone" console released in the 90's (it's better than the Game Master, the Mega Duck and the horrible Game Plus).
  11. Personally, I use AlienBill's online program posted above. I find it very handy to draw the sprite "outline", without bothering with the colors. Then I manually try to set the colors directly in the program to be able to preview them through Stella.
  12. Hi everyone! I'm glad you like the preview video, and I hope you'll enjoy the game too when you have the joystick in your hands! @SpiceWare: this TP holder is really cool! The ultimate accessory for sheep fans! @Atari2600land: Yes, this is port/remake of a GameBoy game I made last year - the cartridge is still available btw (it was not a limited run)
  13. Cool game, I really enjoyed it! The game plays quite well (smooth gameplay, tight controls), the goal is simple to understand but the game rapidly gets more challenging (when the enemies moves faster). However I think that the coolest idea of your game (the tombstone) may be "under-used" for now (that's my personal feeling). For example, have to tried to have the player die when they touch a tombstone? That could add more "hazards" to the game with each shot, and so force the player to think twice before shooting an enemy. For now, I feel that I can shoot them all down as they appear, because the only "negative impact" it have on me is that it will block my way, knowing that I can easily go around them. But If I had to also avoid touching the tombstones, I think I would be more careful before shooting an enemy. Looking forward the next beta!
  14. Very nice game congrats! I must confess I never played the original game, but I did enjoy this one. It's a fast paced shooter, and I like how the enemies have to be shot several times. The boss is very challenging, that's cool. I'm not a big fan of the tunnel / refueling section though, as I found them more difficult (and much slower) than the shooting sections. But it does allow you to catch your breath after the intense shooting section . Best score so far: 8600 (yeah, it's not that great I guess)
