  1. Awesome. I'm a little jealous. ?

  3. I don't use price charting exclusively, but it does seem to show trends and approximate value. If I just had to have a CIB, I wouldn't pay more than $90 or so for it. When I was looking to rebuild my 2600 collection, I had a spread sheet that I kept updated with current prices and would troll ebay and the like about once a week looking for deals. Because of my patience I can say I only paid over the Price Charting price for three games or so. Actually for S&G, I looked back at that spreadsheet and could only find SW:TESB and a set of Driving Controllers that I paid over the Price Charting price for. Empire was the first game I bought when I restarted my collection and paid about a buck over, and the Driving controllers I had to rush get so my daughter and I could play Indy 500 and I didn't want to wait. I got Beamrider--a rarity 5 game--for $5 less than Price Charting, and H.E.R.O.--also a 5--for $1 less. I started the collection about a year and a half ago and up to the last purchase, with a Price Charting value (at the time of each purchase) of $730, I paid $385. So even though it's rare, I wouldn't pay over 50% its current Price Charting value. If I were a collector, not just looking for the games to play but the boxes et all, I might go a little higher, but $450? Screw that guy. Don't be a chump.
  4. To be fair, it looks really rare. I think price charting showed about five a year.

  6. Pricecharting has Star Wars The Arcade game CIB at about $60. You can also do search on ebay for the game and on the lower left click the Sold and Completed boxes to see what the latest have gone for. UPDATE: Ebay shows a CIB sold on 4. June 2020 for $32.95 and $3.99 Shipping.

Hey AD, you are awesome. Thank you for your time on this project.
  8. Excellent. Thank you for the quick response.
  9. Where can I buy these patches?
  10. Star Ship gets a pass because it's a launch title. I am so glad I see someone put Laser Blast on their list. It is without a doubt in my bottom three. It has the worst challenge level in just about any game I've played for the 2600. In one month of playing I had a high score of 1,890. A week later I figured out the trick (maybe from youtube), and I turned the game off around 30,000. Screw the patch. Dolphin is one that sits right near the bottom with Laser Blast for me though for similar reasons. Both games have nearly identical learning curves. I could barely get get more than 6,000 points in Dolphin after playing between November 2018 and July 2019. Then on the 20th I got 16,000 and then 60,000 points. I figured out the trick and increased my score ten-fold. Where this one was different though is that the game eventually got harder and kept me engaged, but I find no desire to go back to it. Although I see Chopper Command as a similar game with the difficulty ramping up, I go back to it all the time. Not really sure why. Maybe because I don't have to invest 15 minutes to get to the hard parts; I don't know. Barnstorming also sits at the bottom for me as well. Got my patch I will probably never play it again. Mega Mania is also close by the bottom because I've never figured out the trick. I can't pass 10,000. Oh, and Fecking Tennis. Feck that game left and right. Funny thing as I look at these games I listed, you'd think I didn't like Activision. You'd be wrong since the games I continue to play are: Beamrider, Ice Hockey, River Raid, Pitfall, Spider Fighter, Defender, Warlords, Berzerk, and Empire Strikes Back.
  11. I'll take you home again kathleen.... One. More. Time.
  12. Don't forget that the difficulty switches can make a big difference. My daughter and I play Ice Hockey with my switch set to to A. That gives her better chances for breakaways, and even more so, allows her to get back to defend the goal. She's gotten to be a great puck thief. We have a blast and I don't have to pull punches too much.
  13. You have a lot of great games to introduce the 2600, but Warlords and Ice Hockey are hands down the best simultaneous two player games (in my ever-so-humble opinion). Those are the two my daughter and I like playing together.
  14. Atari SA gave Tacos filled with Corona virus to the workers in the factory in China to delay production. Who wouldn't turn away Corona and tacos? Certainly not the Chinese. That's what Atari was betting on. EDIT: 69th post. Do i get anything for that. Maybe a taco in my fac
  15. Interesting. Learned about the Black and Tan thing from a coworker who called Bushmill's (I think) Protestant Piss Water, so I've always asked for a Half-and-Half and then they usually ask if I want Bass or Harp. One time the server offered Smithwicks. The Black and Tan references something with the English military and that's still a testy subject in some quarters.
  16. Don't ever. EVER. Order a Black and Tan. Half-and-half is the correct answer.
  17. All three games for Activision's Barnstorming can be beaten in less than a minute each. Actually there are a few Activision games that if you can beat them in less than a minute or two will get you a patch. Grand Prix and Skiing come to mind.
