  1. If anybody's interested, BackBit now supports full RAM expansion for Interton and Acetronic/Radofin machines.
  2. There are a few pots inside the machine. Get yourself a ceramic tuning tool. On mine there were still some display issues after adjusting them, so I ran a PCB for a composite mod. As for the voltage it goes through a rectifier and then a 5V regulator, so higher voltage just means more heat generated in the machine.
  3. I can confirm this is caused by the display list RAM being corrupted due to contention with the joystick/6532 input. It's most likely a hardware bug with earlier revisions of the MARIA chip.
  4. OK save games have been implemented in latest BackBit firmware. It passes the JLP test program. It will not save permanently until you press the cart button to return to the menu. Let me know if you run into any issues.
  5. I made a tentative implementation of JLP flash. The way I set it up it will use the BackBit versioning system to store saves, and they will be appended to the ECS file internally, with the option to export them as well to standalone files. And it should work for any JLP flash saving cart. After I get it working I'll send you a build to test.
  6. Tell me what mappers are still glitchy, and I can check if there are improvements that can be made.
  7. There were some bugs that were fixed. I can still add saving support.
  8. OK, I'll revert AMax to use the bank mask for disable -- other than that everything should work fine on BackBit. Good to hear you guys caught the bad RAM issue.
  9. Most AtariMax releases work fine, including that sampled sound demo. I think the issue might be bus noise triggering bank changes in certain cases. I'll look into it.
  10. I support MAX & MEGA banking schemes. Just updated AtariMax scheme to use 0x80 for disable. Not sure what else the issue would be, and I can't test as I only have a 64K XEGS.
  11. Thanks, I prioritize requests based on who posts at the BackBit Forum. Post the ROMs you want supported there, and I'll do my best. Just received a big batch of chips, so orders are only dependent on build time now (although there is a 1-2 month backlog currently).
  12. Yep, BackBit is definitely not a steak knife. I don't particularly care for steak actually, though I do enjoy a good hamburger. As for the 7800, I've made a number of fixes just in the past few days: - Faster startup & some stability fixes - Can now be operated without the reset wire - Improved POKEY accuracy, sounding great on Popeye for instance Next I'll be working on supporting additional banking schemes for some of the modern homebrews.
  13. It runs all titles I could find. Exposed memory is from 0x0800 to 0xffff (i.e. 62K). The format is BIN, although it would be possible to add support for another format if I can see a spec. Any ROM memory that is unused can be used as RAM.
  14. I prioritize feature requests based on what users request on the BackBit Forum. The higher price point of the 7800 adapter compared to other BackBit adapters is because it has its own CPU. The adapter's firmware is upgraded automatically by the BackBit cart itself.
  15. My guarantee is that if your game does not work on BackBit, I will work to make sure it does.
  16. If the issue is a cartridge issue and not a software issue, then once the issue is fixed in the firmware, it will work for all games. Having non-working games sent to me is the only way to improve support. I support 29 systems, and I don't have time to test every game on every system. But having a specific game that works in an emulator but not on the hardware is something I can easily look into. Caleb has been very helpful in identifying ROMs that don't work (yet), and I've fixed a lot of issues thanks to him bringing them up. If people just bitch and complain that something doesn't work and don't communicate with me like a human being then we all suffer. I added Intellivision support to BackBit based on dozens of requests I got from people, and I've spent a lot of time debugging various issues that have come up. I work diligently to fix anything that is broken in the firmware, and by the way I also build all the hardware myself.
  17. Do you have a Fairchild Channel F that works but doesn't play cartridges? These brand new cables will fix your cartridge bay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/134422695625 Feel free to ask me any questions about repairs or symptoms you may have with your Channel F.
  18. The 2600 is one of those systems that can't be halted to communicate with BackBit, so the menu interface won't work without the reset pin. On my 2600 Jr, it crashes and restarts itself, so you can sometimes go without it, but I guess the implementation on the Flashback is different. Without the wire, you'll need to press reset after the startup screen, each time you change menu pages, and after you select a title. If that doesn't work, maybe there is a pin somewhere else that can trigger a cold reset.
  19. Is there any information on this HYB / DAT format? I'm happy to support it if I can find the spec.
  20. It's a SD multi-cart that works on multiple systems through adapters. https://backbit.io/downloads/Docs/BackBit Cartridge Documentation.pdf
  21. I thought this screen effect looked pretty cool. Turns out it's a faulty CD4081 AND gate on the blue color line.
  22. Very similar, but my own design. I have a new revision which fixes timing issues that happen on some machines.
  23. BackBit now supports Vectrex. Cartridges are still on backorder, but a queue is forming.
  24. You can autostart a game on one platform, but if you change devices it will reset it.
