  1. Thank you for the correction. I thought you were referring to playing on line vs a local system!
  2. Actually it fully (seems to) supports the TI. If you download the full zip file bundle ~5mb, you will find the A1RLOCK_ti99.dsk in the bundle. It also has just about every other format one can think of off hand. Support for: 40 col., 80 col via F18A and 9938/9958 systems.
  3. Works exactly as advertised! I did not realize you meant InfoCom format, neat! Thank you for supporting the TI world. MV
  4. I've only experimented with CALL USER to see how it works. While it works as advertised I have not found many uses for it to date. Entering the same short program in TI Writer works as it should, the E/A (no CR) will produce the same results you see. Fred's nifty adaptation of notepad in TIDIR displays both the TIW and E/A versions properly (it's one of those smart programs). I would check and see if your line entries all terminate with a ".", which is how Fred's program represents a CR. I unfortunately do not know anything about Stevie... yet! It is on the to-do list.
  5. So not many were ever produced, which in itself limits software and continued support. So in a modern day, practical sense the F18A is the way to go. Thanks Tursi.
  6. Not at all simple then. Thank you for the info, I had nooo idea.
  7. I have read the posts in this thread and now realize I should have been searching for "V9958"! Would have made matters simpler. Two questions: 1) Why was this technology abandoned? There was quite a bit of software generated back in the 90's with 80 column support. I somewhat (?) remember that the company, OPA, (Canadian) switched to PC's. 2) If the schematics and plans are available - as seen here - why didn't someone else pick up the production? I do appreciate Asmusr's: "The 9938/58 and the F18A are branching from the 9918A in different directions." Is the F18A that much simpler and easier for standard TI99/4a use? Thanks for the posts above.
  8. SteveB I've been meaning to look into finding ways to save memory in TI Basic. Some very good tips here. Thanks everyone!
  9. Finally got it working on Classic. For anyone else who might be wondering how, read the "What's New" text file that comes with Classic. I did not know it was TIPI enabled. The game itself is impressive. Very nice screen scrolling, great graphics and quite wonderful to be able to use a mouse again with the TI. The game play is quite challenging. (Not just "shoot em up", you have options.) Quite professionally done. If you have not done so already, you should check it out!
  10. Many 3-button, serial pin mice worked just fine. Any 3-button genius mouse appeared to work. Bud Mills distributed a generic, no-name, Model #GTL 400-1 "Made in Taiwan" mouse with his package. Asgard used the Genius serial mouse. Sometimes the software driver scroll speed setting had to be adjusted between different mice.
