Unfortunately, Star Castle Arcade 2600 is no longer available to purchase.
Also, Howard Scott Warshaw is the programmer of Yars' Revenge
oh yeah, sorry, i don't know how I got that backstory mixed up. Thanks for correcting me before I repeated that elsewhere. ha.
I did find the rom of star castle arcade online. it works on the emulator on my mac, but it looks like i may need to update my harmony cart because it wont work on there. In any case this other star castle cart was a pretty impressive project. The new one looks like they made the colors and maybe gameplay a little more complex, but this older one works really well and is pretty fun!

Yeah that’s just how the camera reacts to the refresh rate of the CRT. It looks normal in real life. (I tried to shoot a better video now but it’s crazy impossible.. I’m guessing this game uses a weird refresh rate trick to render the graphics and they aren’t on the screen in every “frame”.. and my camera’s frame rate is clashing with that)
I sent you a private message. That would be awesome if you can help.
Its funny I see now someone has made another very good version of this game here on atariage. In any case I still think it would be cool to have this one working if possible, just for the extra cool cart (the awesome clear cart with lights and the autograph and everything) and the fact that it was programmed by the same guy that did Yar's revenge.

The same system playing yar’s revenge (the camera is doing a weird moire pattern but it looks better in real life):

Unfortunately i don't have another system to try it on (or know anyone nearby who has one). I haven't had trouble with any other games - my harmony cart is even working just fine. It worked great when i first got it. I cant remember when i last played it, but it's probably been over 4 years ago. I'll upload or link to a short video to show what it's doing later.. easier to show it than describe it..

tried it. not helping.

Hey all! Way back I pitched in on the D. Scott Williamson Kickstarter for his Starcastle atari 2600 cartridge. I haven’t played it in a couple years or more. I went to try it recently and I only get color bars and only one of the internal lights flickers a little when I wiggle the cart. I see no visible damage to the pins and I don’t have problems with any other vintage games. Has anyone else had trouble with their Starcastle carts? It’s such a bummer because it’s such an awesome project. Autographed and everything. If I could get it to work I’d really like to… I even tried a little deoxit on the pins.. to no avail..

I cant pinpoint the exact year but I first got an NES second hand from a guy in my neighborhood. I’m guessing because he upgraded to SNES or sega genesis. So I played atari until around 1989 or 1990. Although I did have friends with Nintendo. I remember watching them play more than me playing it myself then. I was born in 77. The atari was my brother’s system. The first new system I got was a sega genesis probably around 1992..

I got a Tron joystick controller. The transluscent blue one) and every time i move left it fires. The fire button also works and it also moves in all 4 directions. But the left control simultaneously fires. Anyone ever heard of a problem like this? It makes it difficult to use on games where you actually have to shoot stuff.

Hey all!
I hope I'm posting this question in the right place. I've noticed lately that my atari games show up as black and white when i first turn them on, but if i wiggle the TV/antenna switch back and forth they show in color (without doing anything to the atari itself). My TV is a really old vintage one. But i think it's really weird that the TV somehow would show a picture but not a color picture at first. Anyone ever have something liek that happen and have an idea where the problem might be?? The Atari? The switchbox? The TV? I guess if i had another CRT i could experiment, but i don't right now..

Sorry if this is something that has been gone over a lot. Has anyone attempted to make a tron light cycles game for 2600? Like even just a re-themed version of surround that doesn't play perfectly? I was trying to look it up online and although i saw a couple people mention it over the years, i didn't see any mention of a completed project or even an unfinished rom..
I have the 2 official games. Just surprised they never made the light cycles game since in the movie that seems like one of the more important parts.
