  1. That's right. I'd certainly like to have a physical release but I'd like it to be nice collectible. Like I mentioned a while back, I'd like to have a custom shaped cart (which probably means a custom cut/designed PCB), a nice and small cardboard box (like those for phones) with the title pic slightly tweaked to look like those early 800 software. There would have to be an agreement with JM (and potentially Ubisoft) and at least some free carts for those who contributed... That's a lot of hassle. So when some douche pops up HERE and offers outrageously priced "blank" carts packed in tacky VHS boxes, I get a tad annoyed. Perhaps if people who have experience with 3D design software for the cart could chime in, that would be a start.
  2. You being a pathological liar, I'm sure you did. In any case, here's more help for your business: Let the money respectfully rain on your baboon ass.
  3. Just noticed this thread, a fun problem indeed! You mentioned doing the proper (aliased) zooming method. That is indeed the right way but for starwars type of scrollers you may be able to get away with an incremental one. The demo group Sanity on Amiga were amazing at this, they were the first to show off 4bitplane fullscreen real time zooms but it didn't look that great probably because it was using the incremental method ? However I'm guessing their Starwars scroller from the same demo also uses that method, yet looks better: Or you could do it the old atari ST way: ...Preshift all the font sizes !
  4. I'm not going to be lectured on ethics and good behaviour by someone pretending to be selling blank carts
  5. If you can't print yourself a label at a print shop nor flash a cart, this hobby's not for you. Spending a lot of time on this project and dealing with the crap that ensued is one thing but having that turd come here and sell it in this thread and telling me with a straight face he's an honest worker and has every right is a bit too much.

Asshole.
  7. Sounds fair... Not sure anyone has the definitive answer on this particular game, perhaps not even JM, I guess he'd have to consult with lawyers since he sold the IP. I guess for most games it's a grey area, and left the port author's appreciation, because the amounts are so low and the companies holding the IPs, if still around, aren't going to share any of the new profit they make with the original authors anyway. If made from scratch, I guess they'd start by suing you arguing that it is their IP, then an agreement could be found, so potentially a mix ? I just wish the mods would take down that post, I don't think cutting out a square in a piece of foam and flashing a cart is worth paying whatever money that guy is asking 🙄
  8. Sorry but this is just a quick attempt at making cash out of something you have nothing to do with. Hopefully the mods will clean this up.
  9. I meant something global because there's a lot of stuff that's not worth it to the point that it becomes spam (just like on every other platform)... But yeah membership would be required... I don't know if there could be a special thread here on AA where users could rate songs and that thread would be parsed any time it's updated? I realize how how clunky that sounds...
  10. Probably not easy without some kind of membership but would it be possible to add user ratings ?
  11. That's quite a bold claim, do you think it tops Altirra's Pokey emulation ? I'm asking because people have mentioned that the sound wasn't quite as close the real thing as Altirra's when used in RMT (Though the version in RMT might be quite old)
  12. I made several attempts but it turned out to be a frustrating exercise until I gave up the dark grey in the background. Thanks for a fantastic pic!
  13. Nice update on a great classic! Even though the project is done and dusted I made another attempt at converting the title pic... It's one of my favorites so I wanted to see what I could do with it.
  14. I think there are only 3 that worth using. Megacart, SIC!, Atarimax. They're somewhat similar. Megacart might be the simplest, not sure if it's worth supporting the other ones... I'm guessing most devices out there support it ?
  15. Not sure which version you're using but I don't recall ever seeing this under Wine. I don't know if running in portable mode could make a difference ?
  16. I don't mind colored bars outside the playfield personally (and I'm sure others would vociferously disagree)
  17. Try following the discussion without skipping every other post, it'll prevent you from spitting nonsense... or not
  18. Sparkler is Superrune indeed There were a few attempts at converting it but it's not an easy one... 7600 bytes doesn't make it any easier!
  19. This is actually Superrune's picture from the C64 version. So you're not planning on using extra color enhancements ? It would be great if a conversion as close to the original C64 one could be included (One my favorite pictures ever at @ 160 pixels ) but perhaps you don't have the space for it ?
  20. There's no rule really, it's really specific to the game. I would guess it's fine for Cybernoid. it seems really wasteful to use P0/P1 for the borders. P0 and M0 could perhaps be used for the 2 balls and flickered (ball0 uses P0 then M0 on the next frame, reverse for ball1) then use P1/M1 for the ship.
  21. Every coder fails their first Pong collision detection... It's a tradition! HW collision detection is an aberration btw... On the A8 it's just legacy of the A2600 which was probably legacy of the original Pong. The A2600 was designed as a super versatile Pong machine, it's really obvious if you know how it works internally... The irony of course is that HW collisions always fail with the likes of Pong and BreakOut It's possible to mitigate the problem by using more missiles along the trajectory (as a trail or invisible I guess) but software collision are just better (but not easier! ) If you like canned worms : http://realtimecollisiondetection.net/
  22. So what does the title picture look like currently ?
  23. Or you could just use LZSS (although the code doesn't build with kickasm it would be a much smaller job)
  24. Hadn't realized that, I remember grabbing a version of the source code in that custom language (from github?) and didn't notice when I browsed it but it might have been an old version. Is the latest code available somewhere ? I clicked on various links on ASMA and couldn't find it.
