  1. So I figured some things out with help of some skilled Furnace users and I added a bassline (and a snare drum) to a few patterns. Only about 9 orders are currently updated, the rest will be wrong. Spanish_Flea_updated.fur Spanish_Flea.mp3
  2. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Furnace as I only use RMT for my POKEY tunes. I tried fiddling a bit with the instrument editor and could not figure out how to set an instrument up it in a way I needed. Best I can do is send you some examples of what can be done with just two channels in RMT for inspiration.
  3. It is a well-known technique and when done properly, you won't even notice. Commonly used on the POKEY and SID.
  4. You are not limited to a single instrument per channel. Just interleave a bass with a drum in some rhytmical pattern.
  5. Not bad for a first attempt. Perhaps try adding a bass line?
  6. I'd definitely buy those micro-switched wireless CX-40s, and the transparent shell looks cool. 🙂
  7. Out of this palette, where would the original red label carts fit? Would that be colour 04? Btw. it should be spelled "Burgundy".
  8. I have a separate jack for my stereo POKEY output so I don't need to deal with audio over HDMI. It would be nice to have on the connector but not necessary.
  9. Has anyone used a microHDMI port instead of DVI with Sophia 2? I'd like to avoid drilling in my case so I thought of using microHDMI in place of RF-out. Now I have to figure out how to implement it.
  10. You mean Scorched Earth? It's already been released both digitally and physically last year. https://github.com/pkali/scorch_src/releases
  11. Oh, so that's why I couldn't get Decathlon to run on my 7800!
  12. Not only are the colours wrong, but the game seems to be stretched to fullscreen on a widescreen TV. Therefore graphics looks blockier than it should.
  13. The 2600+ already comes with a plastic cover, but due to the clumsy placement of connectors, it cannot be used when cables are connected. IMHO that could have been thought through better.

    2800?

Also interesting are the controllers, which work both as a joystick and a paddle, similarly to the Classic Joystick for the Atari VCS. The downside is that there's only one joystick per connector. Nevertheless, it would be a nice peripheral to have for the 2600+.
  15. I wonder why the warming-up issue never occured on the Atari 8-bit line. I am not aware of any noticeable colour shifting on the 8-bit.
  16. There was also the translucent prototype of the 7800. But I understand that people may rather buy the classic version.
  17. I may have missed some information but does your cart currently support up to 48KB ROMs? Is there a list of titles that fit within the limit? Any chance of extending the maximum size in future updates?
  18. So I have two 7800 systems - one is PAL and the other is SECAM. My PAL 7800 does not have a composite/S-Video mod yet so I could only run it through RF. The SECAM system has a factory RGB output (which AFAIK is internally converted from composite). Unfortunately my RetroTink 2x Mini does not accept RF or RGB outputs so I could only take pictures of the screen (an old 15" LCD TV) with my phone. In the end, there are too many factors that may impact the colours. Anyway, here are the images, first the PAL machine, second SECAM.(I only used Pole Position II as in the other games it was hard to spot the differences. I did not do any adjustments to the photos other than perspective correction.)
  19. A friend printed some nice boxes for me, each holds 7 cartridges. He also makes these for Atari 8-bit and Lynx.
  20. While I'd like to be of help, unfortunately I do not own any of the games in the screenshots. The only ones I have are Food Fight, Jinks, Joust and Pole Position II.
  21. I hope they'll finish this. 🙂
  22. Not that risky at certain time, I assume, since nobody cared much about those franchises. But times have changed since then.
