Could an auto-mount mode be added to the UnoCart's firmware in order to be able to use it with the 2600+? Like automatically mounting a ROM with a certain name or in a certain directory after power-up. This might also work like the 32-in-1 cartridge where it mounts a different ROM from a directory on each power cycle.

XEGS was available in some European countries back in the day. There's a PAL version and I've seen quite a few.

I assume this is just rounding error in the monitor's firmware. E.g. PAL Atari 800-series computers output a little less than 50Hz, more like 49.86Hz. 2600 might do the same.

Fair point. But still it would look ugly with uneven pace of odd/even frames.

There are displays that only work in 60Hz even when a 50Hz input is fed. They do display the image but not at the right fps. Perhaps that's the issue some people are having?

I am amazed by all the ignorance concentrated in this thread. It motivates me to ignore it at least twice as much as I have until now.

I have successfully updated the firmware and tested several 7800 games, which I think are all PAL releases. These are the results before and after update: Title fw 1.0 fw 1.1 Ace of Aces starts, fire not working works Ballblazer starts, graphical glitches, slowdown works Barnyard Blaster works* works* Crossbow works works Fatal Run not tested works Food Fight black screen works Galaga not tested works Jinks not tested works Joust not tested works Karateka black screen black screen Mario Bros not tested works Meltdown works* works* Motor Psycho starts, joystick not working works Planet Smashers starts, fire not working works Pole Position II not tested works Sentinel not tested works* Super Huey not tested works Tomcat works works Water Ski not tested works Xevious not working, garbage on the screen works * requires light gun I also tested 2600 Star Raiders with Video Touch Pad, but the controller does not work. Overall, vast improvement!

If the POKEY is at fault and its audio part still works fine, it may still be a valuable chip to be used as a secondary one in stereo expansions.

For the Atari 8-bit, I'd also suggest Mashed Turtles. 🙂

I would love to test the new firmware with some PAL 2600/7800 games.

Millionaire is a disk release and works with 64KB systems. OnEscape is cart-only and even works with 48KB systems.
