Could an auto-mount mode be added to the UnoCart's firmware in order to be able to use it with the 2600+? Like automatically mounting a ROM with a certain name or in a certain directory after power-up. This might also work like the 32-in-1 cartridge where it mounts a different ROM from a directory on each power cycle.

Pete of the ThisIsPete channel has published a great overview of the games that are supposed to be included on The 400!

I never knew so many people here had such dreadful taste. The original Atari 400 and 800 are fantastic, visually distinctive works of 70s-era humanist industrial design. The XL and XE designs are, by comparison, just cost-reduced boring boxes.
Tastes differ, which is a good thing. I won't dare call someone's different taste in design dreadful.

Yes, the 5th port is at the back.

The announcement video also shows footage/images of Battlezone, Elektra Glide, Henry's House and Seven Cities of Gold.

But zero nostalgia appeal in Europe, as the XEGS never launched there, and not much in the US, either.
XEGS was available in some European countries back in the day. There's a PAL version and I've seen quite a few.

@Ben from Plaion Some time in November/December there was an announcement that the paddles will also be sold separately, without the cartridge. When can we expect these to be available? Also, how is the work on the CX-78+ progressing?

I wish these were available in EU. Shipping overseas and customs clearance + taxes make these quite expensive. 😞

I just wish they sold such machines under their own brand rather then license them to other companies.

That doesn't explain the missing frames. If your display is 60Hz (progressive) and the game outputs 50FPS, then you would see all the frames, but every 1⁄10 of a second you'll see the same frame twice, causing objects in motion to move less fluidly. The 50Hz implementation in the 1.1 beta firmware is doing something wrong for PAL 2600 games, where it almost seems the output is 24FPS and the games are slowed down a bit.
Fair point. But still it would look ugly with uneven pace of odd/even frames.

Not sure. I'll ask. We are looking at it.
I got a build today with PAL games capped at 50FPS but had a 60hz output and the missing sprites were gone. But this doesnt feel like a proper fix. Surely it has to be 50FPS at 50hz.
There are displays that only work in 60Hz even when a 50Hz input is fed. They do display the image but not at the right fps. Perhaps that's the issue some people are having?

What is the estimated price?

I am amazed by all the ignorance concentrated in this thread. It motivates me to ignore it at least twice as much as I have until now.

If the POKEY is at fault and its audio part still works fine, it may still be a valuable chip to be used as a secondary one in stereo expansions.
-
For the Atari 8-bit, I'd also suggest Mashed Turtles. 🙂

I would love to test the new firmware with some PAL 2600/7800 games.
