  1. We are looking for betatesters for our upcoming point'n'click adventure game. Here are the requirements: * Be fluent in English, native speakers preferred. * Use both emulation (for easier debugging / sending savestates) and native hardware (for checking compatibility). The game requires a 48K system and a multicart with support of 1MB cartridge images. * Respond to communication within a day. Preferred channels are e-mail and Discord. * Do not share the binary or screenshots with anyone. The objective of the betatesting is to find any remaining bugs and language mistakes. Both PAL and NTSC compatibility needs to be tested. Applicants may reply via PM or in this thread.
  2. It's developed by Jakub Husak, what could possibly go wrong regarding music?
  3. Regarding Break It 2022, nice references to the classic Atari games. 🙂
  4. The only thing I know about, if you're into transparent cases, is this: https://www.plexilaser.de/shop/Acrylgehaeuse-fuer-ATARI-800XL-Teilesatz
  5. That and the fact that Atari cut the software support of the 8-bit line quite early compared to other popular 8-bit platforms of the time.
  6. There is now a bugfixed version available at Fandal's site. More information in the game's thread.
  7. During the stream session with @larek and Borsuk, a bug in joystick handling was found, which makes the game hard to control if your joystick has heavy jitter/bounce (i.e. some microswitch- and arcade-type joysticks). The bug was identified and @matosimi came up with a fix, which is now online at Fandal's web. Thanks to everyone involved. Direct download link: https://a8.fandal.cz/download.php?files_id=8306
  8. Actually it seems that there are some issues with certain joysticks that have heavy jitter. As Fandal told me, there is a 3-frame delay when a player presses fire, but it seems that for some controllers it is not enough.
  9. I have never had any issues with fire, perhaps your joystick needs service or you have autofire turned on?
  10. Download link for Bunny Hop is available here: Enjoy!
  11. Here is a downoad link for our winning entry in the ABBUC Software Contest 2022. Also attached is the manual. I hope you will have fun with our little puzzle game. https://a8.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=8306 Bunny Hop.pdf
  12. I checked prices at AliExpress and other sites and it turns out that the Kailh Choc switches are quite expensice, so I was wondering if you have considered some cheaper alternatives such as Gateron or Redragon low-profile switches.
  13. If you're reacting to my questions, my point was that sending them overseas does not make them very cheap.
  14. Thanks for the tip! Is this the one to look for? https://www.ebay.com/itm/165290095148?hash=item267c0eb22c:g:UYYAAOSwbM9h5wea
  15. As it is quite expensive to ship the cables over to the EU, I was considering making my own cable, but so far I have not found any source of cables with individually shielded wires. Does anyone know a source based in the EU or what type/make of cable to look for?
  16. To keep to the thread's topic, has anyone tried crocheting or bonsai trimming?
  17. Also the white/bright areas are not as bright on the stock machine and jailbars are slightly visible in some uniform areas.
  18. Just wanted to share a couple of comparison screenshots I made today with and without UAV. The left one is my UAV-equipped 800XE, the right one is stock, unmodified 130XE. Both PAL. Screenshots taken using my RetroTink 2x Mini and ezCap 321a USB HDMI grabber.
  19. If only there was an EU reseller for the Hercules Workshop cables. 😞
  20. I guess you mean ASAP. And yes, TIA emulation would have to be added to the ASAP library and the SAP format may have to be updated. Not unfeasible, but would require a lot of effort.
  21. They can, but only manually. I don't think there's a tool for that.
  22. I'd rather get AVGCart over Fujinet since it can emulate both SIO storage and cartridges. Not to mention RAM expansion. Also readily available at www.miscretro.com in the EU.
  23. I'd say the Plus/4 is not too far, with regard to CPU speed and palette. But all things considered, no platform is really close to the Atari 8-bit. The 6502-based systems are a lot more diverse than the Z80 ones, which often benefited from quick (and lazy) ports.
  24. To add to that, do not think this game is easy. Yes, the first 20 levels or so are easy enough for small kids, but the later ones (there are 60 in total) are pretty challenging. I still haven't beat the last two. 🙂
